So glad we did our iOS 7 update from a Configurator refresh then! No issues here at present, 49 iPads all working brilliantly on iOS 7, and Supervision profiles still enforced, VPP apps still active.
-
Same! I can't progress to play with my friends because "I have not completed the tutorial..." :@

iOS 7 brings this feature, you could do this previously on iOS 6 with a Mac Server running Profile Manager. But with iOS 7, you can push any app silently from a "Secured" location (The device needs to be remotely managed by the server sending the request)

Connecting Android Tablets to a projector?
SovietRussia replied to noah's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
The new Hudl device from Tesco has a Micro-HDMI port - Most android tablets do, just buy a converter. -
If this is on the "setup" screen, there is a button (at the bottom) on the Passcode Screen that says "Continue without a passcode" - Press that and a dialog pops up saying "Are you sure?!" - click Continue.

Recommend me a small, cheap, PC to run some digital signage
SovietRussia replied to Oaktech's topic in Hardware
Intel NUC, they come in ridiculous configurations (i5, Celeron etc) - All including HDMI/DisplayPort Oh and it comes with VESA mount (Word of warning - they come without HDD and RAM - they take a mSATA HDD and DDR3 Laptop RAM) -
Its due to the Windows Installation - When you install it on a GPT it reconfigures for the dynamic disk etc. I do believe you will have to reinstall Windows. (This happened to me using Windows 8, I had a perfectly good MBR and it changed it to damm GPT!)

Yeah, was going to say - isnt that against the terms...?

iPad iOS7 Proxy Password not saving
SovietRussia replied to davidau's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
If you use configurator, create a new policy and set the Global HTTP Proxy - Put the settings in there and then don't worry if the password disappears from the WiFi settings. -
Profiles / Profile Manager -- Anyone use this to deploy?
SovietRussia replied to Gerk's topic in Mac
+1 for Profile Manager - We use it to manage our iPads, its hit or miss sometimes with pushing the profiles, but its brilliant when it works. Watch the apps fly OTA onto the devices -
Sorry, I forgot about that! You could just join the statements? shell_exec("ffmpeg input.avi output.mp4 > page.php 2>&1 &");
-
Or just run a mysql_query after the shell_exec code?

For supervised devices, it will automatically try and refresh the iPads to the latest version of iOS - Apple built that to make sure that Supervised devices are always kept up to date with software... Its nothing new due to iOS 7, its been there for years!

Apple Configurator + iOS 7 - Help!
SovietRussia replied to itgeek1989's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
That is why personally, I would setup the iPads with the profiles and not apps, then use configurator to push the apps as it redeems the codes for you and uses the proper licensing method. -
It will force you to upgrade to iOS 7

[ipad] Backup a managed iPad before unsupervising it?
SovietRussia replied to reggiep's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
I just used the free version -
Ah i see! Wiping it seems to be the best option then, as 16GB will disappear very quickly! Damm, Meraki could have saved you a bit of manual labour time, we are fortunate to have good communication with our LEA who manage the firewall
-
Why are you wiping all the data off them? If you do want to continue down this path, you could use a MDM solution like Meraki to do a remote wipe
-
Locking down wallpapers - yes please!
