Do you stop students from saving *.JS files in their H:\ drives ?
SovietRussia replied to kennysarmy's topic in Windows
I doubt you could take over the network with them. -
I got mine within 2 days, nice pieces of kit also.

Build an EXE that loads on logon, that you have to wait 5 seconds to click Okay that will fox them!

I have 49 iPads on the same ID... We have one Apple ID as I choose the right deployment option for us. (You can go for other options and have an AppleID per student)
-
Means ICMP is turned off/blocked on their servers, but it loads here fine.

Does anyone have a Step by Step guide to setting up WebDav?
SovietRussia replied to PEO's topic in Windows Server 2012
One thing I will say - WebDAV = Incredibly insecure. -
For SMS, we use teachers2parents, its very easy to use.

I'm currently developing one for us, its a student information app which students login to using their AD credentials, and are presented with events, their timetable and other personalised things.

Just doing a quick poll to see if you have upgraded to Mavericks or not yet. We are holding off till 10.9.1

I didnt even think VPP was for Mac App Store :/ EDIT: Apple reveals Mac apps to soon be included in Volume Purchase Program Does not exist yet.

New versions of Profile Manager are much, much better. The new server app for OS X Mavericks for example.

I woke up to my news feed full of them this morning, goddam the most annoying thing ever.

IEM (Internet Explorer Maintenance) was removed for IE10 and IE11, you must now use GPP to manage these settings. We got it to work in GPP by editing a few policy INI files and adding in version numbers etc. But we had to do this, on a Server 2012 machine. @computer_expert is 100% correct, you must use Win8/Server 2012 to edit the appropriate XML files, as they do not show for 08R2/Win7

Our profile manager for our iOS devices works, but aint tried Mac clients yet. I think we are going to upgrade our server here, but not our clients
-
Just a hint, Workgroup Manager is "unofficially" supported, they no longer "support" this method of client management, you are supposed to in the "apple world" use Profile Manager to manage macs.
-
Sort of off topic: I was just about to upgrade our macs, im going to hangfire now!
-
You don't need the client on all machines, I remember when I was a student, If i printed to the printers (On my own laptop and because i was authed in as my student username) - my student papercut balance would go down.

+1 for W3Schools, also the PHP Site and Stackoverflow work wonders for overcoming specific issues.

I have one day off
-
1 year?! I reckon i could whip something up like this in a few days, but best of luck!

You can use Windows InTune (I think...), their own MDM solution. But this also might be talking about device restrictions as part of Exchange, which can force enrolled devices to add a passcode etc, but it sounds like InTune the most.

There is a very good hotfix, as @penfold mentioned on the Installing Xibo page for fixing this issue, but once its resolved - Xibo is just so awesome!
