  5. We're experiancing intermittant slow network performance so i thought id fire up wireshark to take a closer look, I seem to be getting a lot of broadcasts from a single 169 address. Any idea how i can narrow this device down?

  12. Part of my PM this year was to produce a budget plan. Having never done or seen one, does anyone have a template or one they could share with me? I'm all spent up so it wont make a great deal of difference but need to tick a box. Thanks in advance!
  13. Thanks Basically they are computers with a custom shell installed that launches the VDI to the end user. Ill have a look into the %clientname% bit
  14. Hi Does anyone use Impero with a VDI solution? Im facing a bit of a quandary at the minute. If I install the Impero client into the golden image then everything is logged against the correct username as it should be. However, because these are virtual machines I cant group them into rooms as they are just in the virtual pool and any actions I want to perform against the machines will only be done on the virtual machine and not the physical machine. So, if I install the impero client on the physical machine, I can group the machines as required and then perform any actions as needed (power off etc). However, because these machines are logged in as a local admin (not on the domain) and shelled to display a custom login window. When the user logs In, Impero is pulling the administrator username from the local machine rather than the username of the student that logs into the VDI so any keyword captures are against the admin and not the user Any ideas?
  15. Yup, tried all 3 options and still the same as per attached message. Then i get a disconnected message in outlook. Im pretty sure it was working ok before christmas and the only thing i can think that has changed is the certificate on the exchange server was renewed in January Im using my account to test with at the minute and personal hotspot from my phone
  16. Any Exchange guru's able to help me with a problem? We have an Exchange 2007 server onsite which for the most part works fine. The majority of staff access their emails via the web interface, however the SLT use outlook 2010 on their laptops. Now, when they take their laptops offsite they can no longer access their emails via outlook (web version is fine) They keep being asked for their login details but it doesnt seem to work and outlook says disconnected. Here are the settings in their outlook account;
  17. I've done my whole school in unifi for less than £2k Been great ever since it went in at Xmas. Couldn't afford the £11k to replace the existing Ruckus APs with new ones
  18. Thanks Staff users there are around 80 Students I'd probably leave and create new accounts. There are roughly 550 students
  19. Our mail server (exchange 2007) stopped receiving external mail today. It turns out that the mailbox drive only had 6GB of space left available. Managed to free it up to 15GB but that wont last for long. So, I need to plan a migration to office 365 at some point in the very near future (over the summer preferably) What do I need to know?? We have an EES agreement so believe that it will be covered under that. So i am literally starting from the beginning with this. Any pointers or gotcha's that I need to be aware of? What happens to all the users mail that is currently sitting in exchange, does this get pushed up to 365? One of my users has 88,000+ emails (12GB) ish..... Thanks in advance!
  20. We're just in ten process of encrypting staff laptops with bitlocker Non if our machines have TPMs so we're using USB keys to unlock them. Laptops are taking about 4/5 hours to encrypt but we just leave them overnight We haven't seen any slow down of the laptops in normal use
  21. I was there. Thought it was a good day and was pleased to meet the account managers boss as ours seems pretty useless at the moment
  22. You can disable networks cards and adding network cards with the batch file shortcut as above
  23. When I use vboxsdl I get the error The computer can't start because MSVCR71.dll is missing from your computer
  24. Hi all, I've got round to this and im using the bat script shourtcut further up in the thread - thanks for that.. Anyway, once the VM is up and running, the students can then right click on the Vbox Manage icon on the taskbar and can get into the settings for the VM. They cant change the important ones but some they can. Is there anyway of locking that down? Thanks!
