  1. Oh dear.... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/ayrshire-students-hack-teachers-email-9783113 Would love to know what happened. I doubt it was "hacked". More likely overheard or a post-it note?
  2. Coo. £139. That was probably my weekly wage back then!
  3. We use RM Unify at my main school and so far it's been good. AD syncs gmail and quite a lot of other login apps like Learnpad tapestry etc. Staff think it's a kind of magic that it knows who they are... However I'm not sure that it can be used at non RM broadband schools.
  4. Correct! Edubeer to you sir. 27C256 Used to have to erase trays of the damn things in a UV eraser and then reprogram them to update firmware in the portable computers we manufactured in my first proper electronics job. Number is the access speed in ns - 200 (how sad that I remembered that useless information from those pre-Cambrian times)
  5. Ok folks, anyone recognise this? Bonus point if you know what the number on the bottom indicates........
  6. We've just started using CPOMS and staff are pleased with it here.
  7. I was going to say exactly the same thing. Lots of people wasted time setting up FROG and it just wasn't used. We use G-Suite with RM unify on CC4.5 and staff are so pleased with the single sign on. Also works well for the children to access RM books. I think FROG are usually at BETT if you are going.
  8. How about the Isle of Wight? Small enough to get around but enough to do.

Marker pens. That's a good idea which I shall now use!
  11. Ive always found CPC good for remotes as well as lots of small but annoying things that can be hard to find. I've started using cut down plastic milk cartons screwed to the wall for keeping remotes in. If you put them high enough KS1 children can't reach them!
  12. Wow. He managed to cram an awful lot into his life. I used to love reading the Rockall Times.
  13. "Ok shall we schedule a meeting? I'll just get my Filofax."
  14. Using gsuite for education you can enrol android and apple phones into management with remote locking or erasing which may be handy. Doesn't solve the problem of laptops though.
  15. Learn pads? Easy to whitelist/black websites/topics to keep attention focused. Cheap. Loads of apps. I think you can ask for a free demo visit. Our first set of 32 is down to about 25 now after 3 years. The early ones had poor power sockets but the wireless charging solves that and the new ones are pretty good.
  16. Hmm. Looks like I spoke too soon. Was fine for a few days but back to crashing again. I prefer Firefox anyway......
  17. Yes. I've noticed this recently on several different machines. Eventually an uninstall and/or update seemed to fix it but I'm not sure exactly what I did to fix it! Seemed to happen with gsuite particularly but other sites as well.
  18. "Car's misfiring again. I'll just try cleaning the points"
  19. "Has anyone got a spare BNC terminator?"
  20. Excellent. That is one of the few problems I have with gsuite now fixed!
  21. Oh no. What will happen to @Dos_Box ? Will he morph into Power Box ?
  22. Try Focused Vision in Plymouth. I've used them a fair bit and been generally pleased. We had our hall projector and stage lighting upgraded by Showbiz from Exeter who I was very impressed with.
  23. I've come up against the same problems as you and have got caught up with other projects. Perhaps Sports Direct can help? http://news.sky.com/story/sports-direct-boss-told-to-explain-spy-camera-10651157
  24. Projectors. That is all.
  25. You can use Google calendar for this by creating a resource to share, although getting people to use it may be the hardest part!
