  1. Just a heads up for G Suite schools - the default Google antispam filter is catching the voucher emails from Edenred since their domain doesn't have SPF etc setup.
  2. elsiegee40 wasn't making any kind of argument about anything, she was explaining the difference between independent schools and academies.
  3. Any update on this please? It really doesn't look good that this site is stuck on HTTP.
  4. No one sensible thinks you were wrong to make that decision. Your decision on this matter has nothing to do with whether others have historically treated you as part of the team or not. We are seeing plenty of examples of younger people with no underlying medical issues dying as a result of COVID-19 unfortunately.
  5. I run loads of their 24 port and 48 port switches without any issue. It is possible you have a faulty switch - maybe RMA it?
  6. It's by far not the only problem and of course you have no problem using different systems - you're IT Support! A normal user is going to become very confused at using part of O365 and part of G Suite.
  7. Trying to use some of O365 and some of G Suite whilst possible is a recipe for disaster - pick a product and stick with it
  8. Tell them to use Chrome.
  9. You feel free not to follow the expert guidance - guidance is exactly that. However with the law changing and allowing police to fine people etc... That said, I'm taking it all very seriously - schools being closed, businesses being closed, the PM briefing the nation nightly - they don't do this over nothing - it has to be incredible serious.
  10. You laugh but one of our kitchen staff was stopped by police yesterday.
  11. Have Wonde got back to you? We registered on Friday and have heard nothing - I called early yesterday morning and a lady said there'd be emails and information sent out by yesterday afternoon but we've had nothing.
  12. Is this some kind of parody response?
  13. And when all this is over it's an opportunity to revisit practices and policies as the guidance for some time now has been not to have a password expire purely because it has been in use for so many days. - assuming that's what you were referring to?
  14. Mike, if they possibly can stay at home they should stay at home - their education is important but there are more important things right now to think of. If schools have too many students then they have to prioritise - there will be a plethora of reasons why - down on staff due to self isolation and illness, a large number of eligible students, large number of EHCP students etc etc. The initial guidance was to have no more than 10% of students in then this changed to 20% but some schools are seeing over 60% of parents wanting children to attend. The whole situation is summed up by a phone call our receptionist took from a Y11’s mother who wanted to book her child in for the "free childcare". This is a fit and well 16 year old who has no additional needs etc - they are quite capable of being at home safely on their own!
  15. Do you have a support contract with MS as my understanding is otherwise support is chargeable.
  16. Downtime is vital, but if we can give a little extra at times like these then so much the better. But you do have to look out for yourself as a burnt out employee is no use to anyone
  17. So your original statement was wrong?
  18. You can if surfaces haven't been fully disinfected!
  19. Reports of schools on here taking legal advice to extricate them from their contract - they must be so happy!
  20. With so many unhappy customers on here is it appropriate to be touting for business still? http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/213867-schools-broadband-service-credit-outage.html http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/209946-schools-broadband-line-filter-down.html
  21. Well I emailed them on Tuesday lunchtime and had no such response - the service we got was above and beyond.
  22. You maybe need to check they're receiving your emails as I emailed earlier this week and had a reply in a couple of hours.
  23. Very much not our experience - one of their team was remoted in at 20:30 setting things up for our O365 school one evening this week!
