Yes. So far only found one machine that wouldn't install W11. Everything seems fine in terms of day-to-day functionality, though some of the higher functions (Memory Integrity) that actually need the recommended specs need to be disabled to stop nags. This may not continue to hold true, though. Updates come in OK but probably not "version" upgrades, though this may have been my WSUS settings. Will have to wait until 23H1 to confirm this, but in place upgrades seem fairly quick and non-destructive.

Season 2 finales of Ghosts (US) and Shadow & Bone. The former is still fun bur still not as heartfelt as the UK version. The later improved on S1, though it goes further off book and leaves lots of questions such as: Why did Nina think turning up at Prison Fight Club with a pardon would work? What does Inej see in Kaz? Why couldn't they have written a better way to show the armies clashing than they did? I've seen bigger school yard rumbles!

The Mother (Netflix) J-Lo plays a top army-trained sniper/assassin/killer who falls in with a bad crowd. When her unborn baby becomes the target of the possible baby daddies, she is forced to give up the child and go into hiding. 12 years later, the bad guys find the child and she must protect her. Deeply average action flick with some weird cinematography in some scenes.

Finished The Night Agent on Netflix. A lot of fun, but could probably have done with being an episode or two shorter. Well worth a look if you like stuff like "24".

A Tourist's Guide to Love (Netflix) An uptight American travel agent (Rachel Leigh Cook) is dumped on what she thought would be her "proposal day", so her boss sends her off to "clear her head" to Vietnam as a "secret shopper" with a tour company they are thinking of buying. At first she isn't impressed, but grows to appreciate the country, the more freewheeling style of the company, and her guide, the owner's son... Mme LeMarchand's pick! Not awful, but completely predictable. About the only surprise is two third act complications rather than one. Still, it makes Vietnam look great (though a recent email from a friend who was there suggests their marketplaces aren't as laid back as presented here) and it's nice to have a different location than normal.

Just spitballing, but do you have the rights to either turn Wi-Fi off and back on either via the various Windows methods, or hot (or physical) key? Or can change to a different SSID briefly (like your phone)? Not sure either of the above would help, but it can't hurt to try. Can they check the driver is an up-to-date OEM /manufacturer one rather than MS? I was having a similar problem with my HTPC's display driver until I installed the AMD driver direct from AMD.

I want to, but Mme LeMarchand is having a lot of family problems at the moment (one very ill elderly, one pretending to be very ill elderly and more) and is wanting more "positive" shows. I don't think that's "Silo". I may have to watch that one on my own!

I guess "The Nevers" was doomed when Joss Whedon fell from grace, which is a shame as while it wasn't the greatest show ever, it had promise. Finally managed to see the last few episodes (why release it at all if it's going to be so difficult to see?) and initially wished I watched a decent "catch up" but I was back into it after the second episode. If anyone is interested, but afraid that there is no conclusion, it is very like the end of a novel in a series. There is a definite end with many plot lines ties up but there is equally a path that the next season would have taken visible. Worth tracking down if you enjoyed the first 6 eps, but I feel that Amalia shouldn't have been made so brusque/mono-minded, the whole time-travel stuff should have been dropped or at least left until a later season, and people's (and alien's) motivations should have been made clearer. That said, the last couple of eps make you cheer at points while let's just say you may find your hay fever flaring up at others. Edit: Suppose it's time to "Never say 'Nevers' again".

Which reminds me of a German friend back when I used to smoke. While we were musing about creating a sitcom based around our lives we decided his catchphrase would be his offer of a cigarette because his accent, which softened the "a" sound, made it sound like something else when he said, "Want a fag?"

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 (Cinema) When Rocket is mortally wounded the Guardians must try to find the MacGuffin that will restore his health. This quest will lead them to face Rocket's "creator" in an adventure so perilous that, if there still is a team left, it will be irrevokably changed. I loved this one; possibly one of my favourite Marvel movies. You do need to have seen the first two and enough of the Infinity Saga to know about the two Gamoras for full effect, but otherwise some great action sequences, comedy and a genuine sense of dread when a character says something like, "I'll stay behind to do it". Pllus, baby raccoons! Also a fair bit of dust in the busy cinema at times. Unfortunately this one is apparently a slight box office disappointment. I do wonder if the short window between theatrical and VOD is making a difference. "Quantumania" is already out to buy for <£10 and is "free" on Disney+ next week.

Beast (Netflix) Trailer a bit violent for work. After a young girl is killed by the blast when he fires on a target in an area where his superiors lied and told him was clear, top agent Veera leaves the service. When his therapist despairs of Veera's daily visits, he takes the ex-agent along to a wedding in the hope of pairing him up. Veera is obviously irresistible and a song and dance routine later he and an unhappily engaged young lady hit it off. She works for the country's worst security firm and takes him along to her boss for a job, which is how the three of them, one of the firm's ancient employees, her not-quite-ex, two thugs he's hired to beat up Veera and what appears to be the Indian Cheech and Chong are at a mall when terrorists attack demanding the release of the leader who was captured during Veera's last job. Yes, it's "Die Hard" in a Chennai mall (it's even set at Xmas) with a bit of "Top Gun" at the end for good measure. If you're in the mood for an Indian action flick with a shaky grasp of physics but lots of completely OTT sequences such as terrorists being taken out by Veera's incredible rollerblading skills, our hero donning shades and fixing his very bouffant hair before using a shotgun that never misses while negotiating a corridor filled with guys with machine guns that never hit and a Seagalesque pose framed by a shattered window - but Seagal never shattered to window by decapitating a bad guy with such force that the head not only shatters the window, but flies across the car park - give this a go. If you haven't succumbed to the dubious joys of Indian action flicks but you're curious, RRR is still the one to watch. Oddly, despite being billed as a musical, there is only the aforementioned wedding dance and an (awful) early in the credits bit. The other songs are more "Miami Vice" like sequences set to music, often that earwormy "meaner, leaner, stronger" bit in the trailer.
