Haven't had SIMS for a while, but used to get this intermittently. Didn't happen often enough to get it sorted, and IIRC it was only at one site. I did have a vague idea about scripting something to check for and start services but we ditched SIMS.

My first gaming experience would probably have been Pong or Space Invaders in the pub, but my first "home" type one would have been when one of the lads in school brought in his ZX81 and a portable telly to show us a Pong clone he'd "programmed" (typed out the code from a mag for). I eventually saved enough for a Spectrum 48k, which I still have somewhere. I used to watch Airwolf on Saturday morning and then fire up Tomahawk which I'd cobbled together a two joystick rig to control. Was still rubbish at it!

We have a GPO + a script that runs on log on/off. Not 100% accurate, but should give you a good idea. Off to dig it up.

We Have a Ghost (Netflix) Not quite the zany, madcap romp the trailer promises (those bits are all in the film though) - this does have a serious side and a bit of emotional heft. OK if you have Netflix, but not worth subscribing solely to see this.

Faraway (Netflix) Trailer NSFW. When Zeynep's mother dies she bequeaths her house in Croatia to her and, after Zeynep's husband doesn't turn up at the funeral as he's too busy flirting with the new young cook at his restaurant, she decides to drive from her home in Germany to Croatia to look into selling the house. When she gets there, she finds that the house has an annoying lodger but there is something about the place and, maybe, him... Yep, it's romcom variation #1: Protagonist inherits a crumbling property in a place they despise but come to love, and falls for one of the locals. This one's USP is that Croatia isn't normally one of the settings and that the romance is between people pushing 50 who aren't super gorgeous (obviously they haven't been hit with the ugly stick either!). A bit low key but not bad if you like this sort of movie.

If you're still subscribed to VEEAM it might be worth contacting them. This can't be the only time someone has had a need to backup something like this and they may be able to advise on the best way to do it.

I've seen it hang at that stage when there has been a problem with my job setup, but it normally times out and throws an error. As an experiment, it might be worth testing a newly-created job with a formatted disk.

Ours is running on the host (probably not best practise) so has a lot of resources, but I just checked another site where it runs from a VM and it seems to take 3 hours for around 2/3rds of the data. Nothing as complex as M365 though.

I tried "Dark" (which I normally prefer, but seems "wrong" in Outlook) and the bar stayed at the top. I think it's there for good. If you go to the "three dots" expanded menu and "Customise" you can do some rearranging.

Are you only displaying a webpage? How about Porteus Kiosk: Porteus Kiosk - free and open source kiosk software for web terminals. I used to use it as a "Library OS", locked down so that it would open at Libresoft and that was it. (When it was a Windows machine it would get used for "other stuff"). Moving towards a Windows kiosk app I found now as at least the underlying OS will auto-update (you have to pay for that in Porteus) but if you're having problems with autologon... P.S. Have just remembered that my HTPC at home is W11 22H2 Pro and automatically logs on (probably via Sysinternals) so it could be a GPO or something blocking that.

Good luck. If it makes any difference, we have a USB 3 UASP card* installed with a Startech caddy that we slot 3.5 drives (WD Red) into. *Thinks: Maybe lack of this is why the Windows Server Backup is so slow at another site...
