Ordinarily I'd slate a company for re-releasing a PS3 game on PS4 but I REALLY loved the multiplayer and would probably buy it again just to play that in 1080p with the improved graphics and the additional DLC! I'd feel like a mug for buying it again but I'd still do it

@AngryTechnician - Thanks for the heads up. I keep contemplating whether I could replace my ageing desktop with a laptop then use that as my primary PC with a monitor/keyboard/mouse at home but still be able to carry it around when required. I still haven't seen any laptops that would really fit the bill. The Razer looked good but the support threads I've read and comments about their general reliability scare me!

I considered an alienware m14 but it's slightly bulky and heavy for my liking. I like the look of some of the slimmed down laptops from MSI and Razer though. They seem to pack plenty of power and aren't too heavy (<2kg). Razer Blade 14 Review MSI GS60 Ghost Review Thing is I'd want to see one before spending that kind of money on it. None of my local stores would stock the MSI and Razer don't even had an official distributor in the UK as far as I can see which doesn't bode well for support. One advantage the Alienware does have is that it's backed by Dell so support isn't an issue. I just wish that Alienware would bring out some slightly sleeker looking and more portable models. Edit: Those Asus Zenbooks look really nice too actually

If I wanted a new personal laptop I'd probably consider a MacBook Air/Pro but I think it's the kind of thing you'd need to buy with your heart rather than your head as despite the improved build quality/finish compared to most other brands they don't really justify the extra expense IMO. I think it would be very difficult to make a rational business case for buying them for a school/business unless you needed to run OSX.

Looks like Intel are also about to release the x99 desktop platform which will introduce support for DDR4 along with a new range of 8 core CPU's Blog - Intel's 2014 line-up: It's looking good for enthusiasts | bit-tech.net As with most newly released memory types I suspect it'll be a massive hike in price for a minimal increase in overall speed compared to DDR3 but it's nice to see DDR4 finally starting to appear.

That's crazy. Queues to get into account management! I haven't seen any queues in game either so why the account management page asks you to wait is beyond me! Even registering on release day it worked OK so I'm thinking that's more likely to be a glitch/bug rather than server load issues.

Is there still much need for laptop docking stations these days? Couldn't you just connect a monitor with an VGA/HDMI input and a USB hub for any peripherals?

I'd agree. You have to think by the time most people get to 60-70 they'll be extremely cautious with their retirement fund and are unlikely to squander it on expensive cars and luxury goods. I think given the current record low interest rates and annuity levels we're likely to see quite a fair share of pension money ending up in the property market which is only going to further inflate the bubble.

I think the Tory's are trying to go for the OAP vote! The removal of the requirement to buy an annuity seems like a massive change especially coupled with the increased ISA limit and 'pensioner bonds'!

I thought it was a bit weird when Amazon dropped the price overnight to £20 which seemed awfully cheap for a newly released game. To be fair the review suggested it took about 3 hours to complete it properly but even though that's ridiculously short. I've just finished playing though the new South Park game which took me 14 hours and that got a lot of flak for being too short. I thought that was slightly unfair as I felt it was all fairly entertaining content and wasn't full of the usual filler/levelling-grind you can end up with when playing some other RPG's. All in all I personally was quite happy with the amount of entertainment it provided for £30. It raises an interesting question of exactly how many hours of entertainment do you expect for £20-30? Plenty of people pay £20 for a new movie on Blu-ray and most of them only last around 90 minutes! 3 hours a £20 game is still way to short IMO though and I expect most others would feel robbed paying for what sounds like an extended demo!

I often download games that are on steam for PC but when it comes to console until they start selling them cheaper than retail I'll be buying all my games as physical copies for the foreseeable future. The fact that the online stores are more expensive than retail/physical without the ability to sell on the games once you're finished them means there's simply no incentive to pay for a download from MS/Sony's online stores when its available as a physical copy IMO.

We're kind of in a quandry in that we want something slightly more powerful than movie maker but not so complex it baffles the pupils and staff. Lightworks looks good but I think the learning curve is too steep for novices and people who want to use it at a basic level. Are you using the full version of Adobe Premier or Premier Elements? is it simple enough to package and deploy on a network as previous installs of our Adobe CS Suite have been tricky to get working?

I've been looking for a mount for my car and the recommendation that always comes back which others have suggested is Brodit. I'm tempted to get one for my car as I could do with using my phone as sat nav and didn't fancy paying the manufacturer nearly a grand for the built in system! I did worry it might look a bit 2004 sticking a phone mount to the dashboard but it would be handy. The new C Class is the same.

I've been in the last 3 betas and have the game pre-ordered so you can count me in on the edugeek guild! Final beta test this weekend by the looks of it. I'm not sure how I'm going to find time to play it though as March/April is crazy for new game releases. South Park last week, Titanfall this week, Diablo 3 : ROS the next and ESO at the start of April. I need more hours in the day......or possibly more coffee and less sleep

I'd wanted to get this for PC earlier in the week but left it late ordering and everywhere seems to be sold out of physical copies! Steam has it for £40 but I'm not sure I could handle paying the retail RRP for a downloadable PC game I've found it on a couple of sites on hotdeals and overclockers that claim to resell steam codes? Is this process legit and has anyone used sites like this before?

What platform are you guys all planning on buying it on? I'm trying to decide whether to go for XB1 or PC? I'd expect the graphics will be better on the PC and mouse/keyboard control is nice but I'm also thinking the online functionality might be better supported and more reliable on XB1. Also, I think it may lend itself better to playing with a controller due to some of the auto aiming and free running so I'm erring towards the XB1 version at the moment.
