Haven't see any forza day one edition unboxings to confirm but FIFA is just a digital code as you've said so I could have a long wait before I get to play it! FIFA's only 8.7gb which is reasonable but at 32gb forza5 is a pretty hefty download regardless on your internet connection speed.

Mine's been dispatched so should have it tomorrow with any luck My only concern is how I'm going to download 35gb worth of forza5 on my 1.5 meg internet link. Gonna take about 3 days..... I really hope MS bundle a physical copy of the game and it isn't download only ?

Looks like some reviews of the launch games are starting to appear online. Currently the only game I have on pre-order with the Console is Battlefield 4. Killzone has been getting slightly above average reviews so I might give that a miss just now. looks awesome though so I'll probably grab that from the PS online store too

I also have a PS4 on order and other than Forza5 (which really looks awesome) there aren't any exclusive titles out for it I want that aren't also coming out on Sony's console. From the tech articles I've been reading and the comments regarding the games it is really looking like the PS4 is going to have a significant hardware advantage this generation. It's making me feel apprehensive about buying an XB1 at launch especially given it's the more expensive machine...... Hmmmm...

Looks like Amazon have got a few lying around! Hopefully mine's in there somewhere ready for launch day delivery...

The latest Forza 5 trailer looks seriously epic

It's kind of frustrating seeing 'next-gen' consoles being released and struggling to run games at 1080p. I'm trying to decide whether to get this for my PC (i7-920/GTX470) or wait for the PS4 version? I'm leaning towards the PS4 version mainly because I don't think my PC will by able to run it smoothly at high detail so I'm thinking the console version is probably a safer bet. I'd be interested to know what kind of fps everyone is getting when the full game is out?

+1 . This or ebay is undoubtedly the best way to maximise the cash you get from them but it's potentially a lot of effort on your part. Still depending on how much Music Magpie offer you may only need to sell a small number to beat their offer. Especially if some of them are rare or sought after?

AnandTech | ASUS Transformer Book T100 Review: Redefining the Entry-Level Windows Notebook Just been reading the review on Asus's latest transformer laptop/tablet with bay trail and it looks mighty impressive for the $400 price tag. I'd hope there will be an option to upgrade the RAM from 2Gb to 4Gb but other than that it sound just about perfect for the money. Given it's running full windows 8.1 it's a much more flexible device than the SurfaceRT IMO.

Does your TV have a component input (RGB,LR) as this is the best quality connection your can get on original 360's. Failing that probably best to see if you can do an Amazon search for a VGA/component to HDMI convertor?

At my work we're subscribed to both CBT NUggets and Trainsignal. Difficult to say which I prefer but I find it invaluable for training being able to quickly find guides on any topic we need to get up to speed with.

Fair point. Sounds like Sony and Microsoft are both going to make subscriptions mandatory for online play with the next gen consoles. GT6 is out next month on PS3 so that probably makes more sense for yourself if the online sub is a deal breaker and you already have a compatible wheel. I'm getting the impression you'd rather put the cash towards uprgading your PC rather than buying a next gen console anyway!

Buy an Xbox One with Forza (it's better than GT anyway) and Battlefield 4. Job done and you'll have a next-gen console which will last you another 7-8 years assuming it doesn't follow in the footsteps on the 360 and RROD after 18 months

Cant comment on the iPhone 4 but I'm really impressed after installing it on my 4S. IOS6 was starting to feel really dated especially next to Android. IOS7 and it makes the whole interface much more logical and usable even if they seem to have 'borrowed' most of the new features from Android Personally I think the new look is a big improvement and finally brings a standardised design to all of the built-in apps. From an aesthetic point of view some of the old apps on IOS6 looked truly awful. Especially the yellow notes app and the tacky looking brown/green poker table game centre. In fact other than the slightly poorer battery life IOS 7 is a massive improvement in every single way. Having said that like the OP I'm tempted to move to Android once my contract runs out though.....

I really wish Microsoft would just admit that windows RT (ARM) is a waste of time at this point. I can understand that 2-3 years ago they were concerned about the x86 CPU's ability to be competitive in terms of battery life but Intel proved with the last generation clovertrail atoms that their performance and battery life was on a par with ARM chipsets. People complain about fragmentation in Android but if anything the Windows desktop/Metro divide that MS has created with RT is even worse. MS missed a trick by not fitting an Intel Bay Trail chipset to the new Surface tablet in place of the Tegra 4 in my opinion. A full-fat Windows 8.1 tablet with a quad core CPU, 4 Gb of RAM and a £400 price tag could have turned around peoples opinion of Windows 8. As it stands the Tegra-based surface RT is still a waste of time and the haswell Surface Pro (as nice as it is) is too expensive and bulky/heavy. I can't help but feel that Microsoft are holding back on bringing out the perfect tablet to give the OEM's a chance to catch up. There are far better hardware solutions available (bay trail & ULV fanless haswell CPU's) which would be a far better fit for their tablets but they seem reluctant to use them! I'm guessing they shied away from bay trail because they felt it would be too close in terms of pricing to the Tegra 4 Surface. I expect they probably have some kind of special deal with Nvidia or feel the need to keep the trainwreck that is Windows RT rolling on the tracks a bit longer to save face. On the plus side taken in isolation the Surface Pro 2 is substantial improvement on the previous generation. The battery life is now on a par with other ultrabooks and ,whilst expensive for a 'tablet', given the specs and build quality if I were looking to spend £800-900 on a laptop I'd definitely consider it as an alternative.

I had a cycling cap but as you've mentioned I find it gets way too hot. Instead I'd recommend some buffs like the one below :- Revolution Buff You can wear it balaclava style when starting out and it's cold then pull it down cover the face or simply as a neckerchief as you warm up from riding.

There's still no confirmation, though there are rumours, of any next-gen console versions of the game. Even if it is announced you'll likely be waiting at least 6-12 months for it so if you want to play GTA5 you're probably as well just buying a ps3 or 360. There's a great selection of games out for both consoles and even after that the Ps3 will still make for a good Blu-ray/Netflix player so it's not really money wasted. If you wanted to sell it after completing GTA and LOU you could probably get around £150 for it in the run up to Xmas for a 2 month old console with a couple of games! Between GTA5 and the Last of Us that's reason enough to buy a PS3 in my opinion ! I still can't get over how impressive the graphics are for a game running on 7 year old hardware. Time to head back in to Los Santos.....

We're contemplating blocking desktop.ini file creation in our pupils documents folders using FSRM. Has anyone been running this for any length of time and discovered any side-effects or is it safe enough to do?

Most websites seem to suggest GTA 5 requires an 8Gb install so probably not wise going for the 12Gb PS3 if a single game is going to eat up nearly 3/4 of your HDD space!

I'd probably go for a PS3 if I had to pick between them. There's no subscription required for online gaming or accessing stuff like Netflix and the Blu-Ray player is a handy feature to have. I'm struggling to decide which platform to buy it on myself actually as I own both consoles. Has anyone seen any comparisons of the xbox vs PS3 versions?

I'd also recommend some of the cheapo non-branded Cree lights off amazon marketplace or ebay to be honest.
