  1. Just curious, a large number of post in this section has over 200+ views. What is holding everyone back applying?
  2. Hi all, We are currently recruiting for a new role based in Clapham South (couple minutes walk from the station). Technologies includes but not limited to AD, DNS, DHCP, GPOs, Office 365, Powershell, Exchange, SCCM, VMware, SAN (Nimble Storage), networking (cisco switches), If you are interested, full details are available here but please do drop me an informal PM and I will be in touch! PS - we have approx 1000 desktops/laptops, and approx 1500 users.
  3. We have done this very recently, we have SCCM 2012 R2, but did not want to upgrade so we installed SCCM (current branch). Boundaries do overlap, but we are not deploying at the moment, just creating fresh packages and images - be careful with the WDS service, this may conflict depending on how your network setup.
  4. You would be classed as unlicensed. In the Per Core licensing framework for SQL 2014, the allocated core per VM is what needs to be purchased. For example, if your VM has 6 cores allocated, you need 6 core licenses. The minimum requirement however for any VM, is 4 core license. So in your scenario, a 2 core allocation for the VM, would still require you to purchase 4 core license. To quote from Microsoft licensing guide: Depending on your agreement (we have EES agreement), for us, the core license comes as packs of two: (7NQ-00302) SQLSvrStdCore ALNG LicSAPk MVL 2Lic CoreLic
  5. I'd suggest you talk to Steve Wilde from 64Teq, service company specialising in education sector and can help you from procurement to implementation and project management. PS - pricing from 64Teq has always been exceptional for us. We get at least half a dozen quotes from various suppliers and push hard for discounts but 64Teq always comes out top.

  15. Hi all, This post goes to all those who have successfully moved from RM based infrastructure to a brand new Vanilla setup. Would like to know how much success you've had from using SCCM 2012 and any other third-party tools. We are looking to move away from RM CC4 and looking for some options but without a doubt we will intensively be using SCCM 2012. Thanks for the replies in advance.
