  2. Thanks for sharing this. We have recently moved from LCC to this. It costs roughly the same as what we were paying LCC. The database move happened with no downtime. Thankfully we now don't have to spend thousands on a new defender setup and spend many hours training on how to use it. Sophos just works and requires minimal training. Thanks SEGfl and thank you R_Kenshaw for providing the information. Note for others: - This is still available if you still debating what to do....
  3. HI All, Just giving this thread a nudge, apologies for jumping on the bandwagon but this is quite worrying for us! How are you all getting on with moving from Sophos to Microsoft Defender. We are still quite confused here as to why LCC EDS decided to make the decision without consulting schools first. (Other than apparently saving schools money.) Our take on it here is that if we could stay with Sophos, we would. (Sophos just works and is a trusted AV along with being simple to use) Microsoft Defender on the other hand, if set up correctly...with appropriate licencing to give you anywhere near what you get with Sophos, is very complicated, all over the place, requires many hours of training, the list goes on. Basically this move has caused us to loose many hours of work on researching/ testing to see if we can get to grips with it. Our findings point towards us needing a minimum of A3 licencing with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (Plan 2) Licencing. (I am still waiting for pricing for this but it does look like it will work out dearer than Sophos) Please can you all pass on your opinions on this... so that we can all make an educated decision in whether to stay with Sophos are make the leap and move to Microsoft Defender. For me Sophos is a no brainer for the following reasons: - It just works Support is brilliant It looks like it actually cheaper than Microsoft Defender. (If correct licencing for Defender is purchased) Sophos meets all DFE guidelines out of the box. We have not really used Microsoft Defender so we cannot comment on this although by the looks of it we will need to spend may hours in training and many hours is setting it up. We cant imagine not having some kind of Console were we can actively manage and monitor all threats and update failures. (Console access is a DFE requirement although not specifically by using the Defender console, but it would make a lot of sense to use this for full integration like you get with Sophos) (Which by the looks of it is only possible if you have at a minimum of A3 licencing with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (Plan 2)) Any opinions or advice on this will be greatly received. Kind regards
  4. I am guessing you have spoke with Dru. Did you explain how much you were paying for your current product?
  5. I would speak directly with [email protected]. He would be able to price you according to the quantities and your specific needs.
  6. I second Action1, we have been using it for a few months and cant fault it. It has a very useful vulnerability scanner built into it too.
  7. Hi Dawn, Please can I have the credentials to log in for the drivers also? Thanks
  8. No bother it was worth trying. :-) I have just been in touch with Locker Connect and they are looking into a solution or a workaround to help with the Parent Digest Email There is a risk of breaking the link between Class Teams and Locker Connect if you do the manual upload of CSV's to SDS. One of the CSV's includes uploading Teams names which could potentially break the link if you dont get them named correctly.
  9. Ah I see. I wish locker connect would do this also. It's a bit of a mind field trying to locate all the relevant information needed for the CSV's before uploading. You don't happen to have copies of the CSV's that where uploaded (minus the data obviously haha GDPR and all that) to give me a head start on the required column titles needed for each CSV?
  10. Thanks for the quick reply leegcvv. Just to confirm Are you are using locker connect and have you used Microsoft SDS to upload the relevant CSV files?
  11. Hi All, Is there anyone that is using Ruler Connect been able to set this up using your SDS service by importing CSV files? Just curious as it is proving quite difficult to locate all the relevant information needed for each spreadsheet. I am also concerned that doing it this way may break the link between Locker Connect and our Microsoft Teams classes? Its a shame Locker Connect have not been able to integrate this with their service yet!
  12. Hello Titch, I am currently looking into this myself. Did you manage to get anywhere with linking parents with students Microsoft Teams, and activating the weekly emails for parents and guardians?
  13. HI Esteban_Child_of_the_Sun, Many thanks for this information very useful to know and helps with piecing together how the Sims Database works. Unfortunately this user has lots of things associated with them in the Sims database and has no reason (that we know of know of) is now unable to log in. I am waiting for Capita or BTLS getting back with help on this, I get the feeling this will be a very simple thing to fix...but do not know where to start.
  14. Hi All Just thought I would post this to see if any EduGeek Amigos have come across this, whilst waiting for BTLS to get back to this urgent problem. We have a user who has out the blue started getting username / password not correct message when trying to log into Sims.net. When looking at her account in Sims we found that it had strangely become inactive. After reactivating her account and changing her username to the desired username we found that we could not save the account as apparently it already existed. We have searched all users in Sims and cannot locate another user with the same name. Anyone else come across this problem? Thanks in advance [emoji106]
  15. Hi Rick don’t think it’s as straight forward as that if you press on one of the boards you will probably find that the surface of the board bounces on the internal layer of the board this I have been told is classed as delaminating. There should be no flex or movement in the top surface of the board for them to work as they should. Hope that makes sense [emoji846]
