  1. If it stays at 10 or less I'll book the Cosy Club, 11 or more and it will be the Greyfisher
  2. :bump Last call for places, 7 confirmed thus far... Can you let me know by 10am Thursday please
  3. It's a burden though, he has to mask his time traveling skills by living in one of the most technological backwards parts of the country....
  4. Hi all. It's Monday already, lost track of days!! Hope you all had a good Christmas. I need to sort out a table booking in the next couple of days so would appriciate a quick show of hands if you are still coming on Friday for lunch. Plenty of spaces left for those who are now unexpecidly free as well. The usual free on-site parking is available and those who are coming by train usually coordinate walking down together if their arrival times are similar. Lookjng to eat about 12:30 so those east of London have plenty of time to rest and relax before going back Cheers Andrew
  5. Cosy Club is an option, menu is here:- https://cosyclub.co.uk/menus/ Only downside is any party over 15 they want a £5 per head deposit in advance so would need to know numbers. At the moment they are fairly quiet for lunch on the 3rd

  7. @Andrew_C sorry to hear that Somewhere new depends on numbers as only a few places can cope with more than say 10 in one place...
  8. Just thought I'd bump this thread. Social is still good for Friday 3rd January in Salisbury, hopefully the rail strike will be over by then and the roads will still be free of school traffic. Where would people want to eat? Witherspoons (where EDIT ate in the evening), GreyFisher (no longer a Hungry Horse and actually quite edible now...) or somewhere new? Andrew
  9. I was looking at nxfilter the other day, how do you rate it as a school filter?
  10. This is one they dug the road lower in the New Forest, the railway above it is the Weymouth to Waterloo mainline, the road under it a long way round when closed....
  11. Way back in the day you used to regularly hear a sonic boom over the south coast at about 5pm caused by Concord which I was always told was it leaving Paris but no idea if that was true or not
  12. Usually that just results in the bridge flooding every winter and becomes unpassable
  13. I've tried to like this, I really have but now cba to watch the final part. The time hoping with the female character revealing the end and the zombifying of the people caught in the black smoke were the final straws...
  14. NOW TV Smart Stick with 1 Month Cinema, Entertainment & Sports Pass, cracking value at £14.99 at Currys https://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/tv-and-home-entertainment/digital-and-smart-tv/set-top-boxes/now-tv-smart-stick-with-1-month-cinema-entertainment-sports-pass-10192455-pdt.html
  15. Oh well, explains why I spent a fruitless afternoon trying to get it working then!!! Thanks for all the replies, have reverted to plan B and got it sorted via another route. Cheers Andrew
  16. For a variety of reasons, some better than others, I'm trying to force Chrome to pick up a proxy.pac file hosted locally on the C drive In the Proxy Script Address I'm using file:///c:/proxy/proxy.pac but it's not working. The same pac file hosted on a web server works fine. Clearly I'm doing something wrong but my google-fu is letting me down this afternoon... Any (clean) suggestions? Thanks Andrew
  17. Bitterly disappointed by this, pretty much the whole of the first episode setting pointless back stories of characters, dodgy cgi etc Love the original story, this looks like the remake that didn’t really need to be remade, even the Tom Cruise movie was better than this...
  18. AFAIK, yes it's only the beta software and the fact it reports crashes is buried in the small print. Any of the release code doesn't have that feature enabled
  19. @mavhc we are talking about exams so no phones in pockets, on desks or hidden anywhere else they shouldn’t be.... We also use a large hall so use a projector as a clock. Should the power fail mid exam they will all be sat in pitch darkness as no external windows so projector going off isn’t an issue. We use ppt with a plugin (not open source though) that does real-time clocks, cost us about £5 all-in 6 years ago. Passes external exam board moderation visits every year so must be ok....
  20. Here's why that setting is a good idea... https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/deployment/update/waas-delivery-optimization Mine is also disabled as I use PDQ to do all my windows patching
  21. So where do we all stand with Friday 3rd January? Last day of freedom before school goes back social?
  22. Just been asked if we are running another EduSocial at Christmas this year (#toosoon) and yes, I'm more than happy to arrange another (unless everyone is sick of Salisbury by now?) So, dates..... I break up on the 13th December (but I know that's earlier than a lot of schools) and go back on the 6th January and looking at my empty social calendar, surprisingly I can do any date in-between. What works for everyone else? 23. I think the answer is no but just incase, we have two members of staff living on-site this year and they would like to attach their xBox via the residential wifi (which is behind SWGfL). AFAIK there is no proxy settings on a xBox (unlike say a PS4). Is there a way to get them connected to the outside world via wifi that doesn't involve them tethering it to their phone?? Cheers Andrew
  24. I've always used Ken at Tonercare, excellent service http://www.tonercare.co.uk
