Need to migrate Exchange 2010 to......?
AJWhite1970 replied to AJWhite1970's topic in How do you do....it?
If I stay on-premises I'll purchase one based on whatever specs I need for whichever version I'm going to (although looking at Ex2019, might need more RAM than there is currently in stock in Asia....) -
Sat planning all the summer works and the big job is what to do with my trusty old Exchange 2010 server. Everything on it works like a charm but with it going EOL early 2020 it’s time to plot its demise. It’s got about 1800 accounts on it and 600GB of mail although that can probably be reduced over the summer and at present clients are running Office 2010 (but could change to 2016\19 without too many issues) So I reckon I have one of four paths:- 1) Migrate to O365 2) Migrate to GSuite 3) Stay on premises with Exchange 2019 (using CodeTwo or similar in one hop) 4) Hybrid migration to O365 (after upgrading to Exchange 2019 first) No Macs or Chromebooks on-site to muddy the waters, every client is either Win 10 or iPads, all the servers are on Server 2019 (apart from the old ex2010 server which plods along on Server 2008....) Pro’s and cons for each one, and I know this is a piece of string question, but interested to know which way would you go and why? Cheers Andrew

Chrome 75 Update - "Failed - Download Error"
AJWhite1970 replied to ColonelPanic's topic in Windows 10
All good here - went to v75 yesterday lunchtime and been downloading loads to a redirected home drive and a departmental share since then. No stroppy emails from the great unwashed either... -
We've got this one in the corner of our office. Keeps Pete's milk cold, my coke zero ice cold and our choc-ices frozen https://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-Hobbs-RHTTLF1B-Energy-Rating/dp/B00FLTE8OE

A very battered Garmin Vivoactive 3 On it's 3rd strap and the glass has a scratch on it despite the scratch protect film but I love the watch and the battery life is amazing. Only annoyance as a football referee is the stopwatch apps are carp as it doesn't come with one as default...

£600 vs £10 when budgets were already very tight on the upgrade project
-
We got a 10m reel of Velcro from our local dressmakers shop for less than £10 and have used it on hundreds of HDD to SSD conversions without any issues. Have also always used the original SATA cables. Would always recommend SSD first and then RAM second as an upgrade path when budgets are tight (but stay away from 64GB SSD’s as they are very tight for free space once Windows, Office, Adobe are installed plus local profiles...)

And a thank you from me to everyone who attended, said nice things about the school, kept eating all the food that Terry and Jenny kept putting out, didn’t hack the WiFi (well not that I’ve found yet anyway) and made the event a pleasure to host. Special thanks to @witch and @The_Oracle who stayed behind and helped me put the Chapel back together which meant I have been able to take today off to sit in the garden and chillax Safe trip home everyone and see you next time our paths cross (which for those south of the m4 will probably be late July for another EduSocial?) Morning all I'm in the office and the carpark is open, so if you are in town a day early feel free to pop in and say hello [emoji4] If you are leaving your car here and exploring, can you please text me your reg plate so I know who to look out for later tonight if cars are still here when I lock the main gates. -

[h=4]Walking from Salisbury Railway Station[/h]Exit the station and turn left walking down the hill with the high wall on your left. Cross over at the pedestrian crossing just before the mini roundabout and then proceed down Fisherton Street. After you have crossed the river and passed the Kings Head pub turn right at the traffic lights and proceed to walk in a straight line towards the cathedral. Go through the pedestrian precinct, go straight over the lights at Prezzo and go through the High Street Gate into the cathedral grounds. Walk to the security hut and turn left following the road all the way to the end exiting through the Queen Anne Gate onto a busy main road. Turn right and our Exeter Street entrance is 300 yards on your right. Approx walking time 10/15 mins. -

TBH was too lazy to walk the 10 paces outside and take a picture so used Google Maps instead. She's not in the next frame along so maybe she doesn't exist at all... -

For those of you coming by car just a reminder to use the satnav address SP1 2SF rather than the one Google tells you. We are using the car park accessed via Exeter Street and not the one in the Cathedral Close.... -
The OH has just finished S1&2 of Stranger Things on Netflix. Apparently S1 was brilliant, S2 started really well but became more meh as it went on to the point she's not bothering with S3 when it comes out in July...

[1903, au] Windows 10 Version 1903 now available to download
AJWhite1970 replied to tmoon-mint's topic in Windows 10
Well so far so good, my 1809 gold image upgraded without any issues, everything appears to work, staff and student profiles all loaded ok. Not liking the new fluent background feature, just makes my branding look like someone smeared it with goose fat, that will be going when I find the reg key -

Just done a quick ring-round for the football. Best bet is the GreyFisher which is 5 mins walk from here. (used to be a Hungry Horse but just been taken over and renovated by Greene King). They are expecting to be busy and suggest booking a table in the bar area although there are several screens https://www.greeneking-pubs.co.uk/pubs/wiltshire/greyfisher/menu/main-menu There are a couple of other pubs in town showing it, but you will need to ignore the sawdust on the floor. Sadly for some, the vodka bar isn't showing it
