  1. Been using and abusing Insight for years here, normally when there is a major problem it's the IIS server that has issues rather than Insight itself. What exactly is crashing? The IIS server, the Insight agent or something else?
  2. Expanding on what DHicks said, that's pretty much what we do. We have an AD user called notice that has it's own .vbs login script which is as follows:- We use AutoAdminLogin on the PC to login without any user intervention and although we use AB Tutor to reboot the PC's when needed, you can also schedule in an overnight reboot as a task to force it to reload. All the above costs £0.00p Andrew
  3. I have a batch file that runs post a vanilla install or upgrade of 1903 which includes calling the decrapifier script @echo on @echo Updating System Folder rmdir /S /Q c:\build\1709 rmdir /S /Q c:\build\1803 rmdir /S /Q c:\build\1809 robocopy \\quartz\cdcopies\_Drivers\_1903_Update\System\Fastcopy c:\system\fastcopy robocopy \\ds2\pdq$\UWT\4.6 c:\system\UWT4 robocopy /IS /TEE /NP \\quartz\cdcopies\_Drivers\_1903_Update\System\ c:\system\ bginfo.exe robocopy /IS /TEE /NP \\quartz\cdcopies\_Drivers\_1903_Update\Build\ c:\build\ Build_GB.txt robocopy /IS /TEE /NP \\quartz\cdcopies\_Drivers\_1903_Update\Clean_up\ c:\build\Clean_up\ call c:\system\Bginfo.exe c:\system\Bishops7.bgi /SILENT /NOLICPROMPT /TIMER:0 @echo Updating Registry Keys regedit /s c:\build\1903\disable_edge_shortcut.reg regedit /s c:\build\1903\disable_login_screen.reg regedit /s c:\build\1903\Ipevo_allow.reg.reg @echo Run Workstation Cleanup script call c:\build\clean_up\cleanup.bat @echo Update Start Menu "\\ds2\pdq$\IvoSoft\Open Shell\OpenShellSetup_4_4_138.exe" /qn ADDLOCAL=StartMenu @echo Install post 1903 Service Packs wusa.exe /i c:\build\1903\Win10-1903-SSU-x64-kb4520390.msu /quiet /norestart wusa.exe /i c:\build\1903\Win10-1903-20190926-x64-kb4517211.msu /quiet /norestart shutdown /r /t 0 Cleanup.bat contains the following line:- powershell.exe -Noninteractive -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -file " C:\build\Clean_up\cleanup.ps1 " HTH, not the prettiest solution but works for me Andrew
  4. Currently this...
  5. PDQ Enterprise for me, worth the £350 p/a for all the packages that opens up to you. One less thing in life to stress over....
  6. Thanks everyone, going to have a play with TypeWonder - Beta and see what a some combo's look like, leaning towards Leno at the moment......
  7. Currently developing a new website for the school and everyone has an opinion on what font to use for the main body text, some people clearly have no idea... What's the current fashion for website fonts especially with regards to DDA, clarity etc? Something widely available that's Sans Serif? I know this is a question with no specific right answer, but there are also many wrong answers, so just looking for peoples preferences really..... Cheers Andrew
  8. Hi I've been donated 3 of the above boards (don't ask...) but won't be using them here as we are totally Hitachi for IWB's. I have a small skint school up the road that would love them but before I offer them out, any users of them here got an opinion? Any software needed for them to work properly etc? Thanks as always Andrew
  9. I don't do reality TV, but I'm hooked on C4's The Circle. Fascinating, if slightly scary, social catfish experiment....
  10. I gave up trying to remove windows.old in the end, after 30 days the OS takes care of it and automagically removes it anyway.
  11. Not a free solution but we worked with the tech team at TASC earlier this year to include the self service functionality in Insight for pre-admissions students which was then subsequently released. The whole process of parents entering all their own info made a massive difference to the MIS team and also the quality of the data entered.
  12. Hi ya For years I've been using the Unifi M-Fi monitoring solution to record 4 temperatures around the school and alert me if they hit certain thresholds, but with the software long dead for development and it's reliance on an old version of Java, the time has come to look for something else So, any suggestions as to what to use? Looking for one point of administration, 4 locations across the school so linked by IP and the ability to go below zero C for temperature (one of ours is currently in the walk in freezer merrily shivering away to itself at -22c...) Thanks as always Andrew
  13. As SteveWill6 says. From experience though, set the new Admin password to be blank rather than try and overwrite a new one, seen it screw up the Admin user too many times.... Hirens Boot CD also has the same tool on it but that hasn't been updated for ages
  14. We are currently on Windows 10 EDU v1903 plus the decrapifier script and that's working a treat for us https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/2198477-windows-10-decrapifier-1903
  15. Option to pick with English UK as the default. Just need the Chinese keyboard rather than the full blown language pack... Andrew
  16. Hi Have had my Chinese classes room changed at the very last moment, is there a quick way to add the Chinese Simplified keyboard for all users on a 1903 PC either via registry, dsim, command prompt, black magic etc without having to trash all the profiles and starting again? Thanks Andrew
  17. Classic Shell is EOL but the code was taken on by another developer and the product renamed to open shell. Same as before but a lot faster and designed for windows 10. I’m using it on all my 1903 pc’s without any issues using redirected directories
  18. Ok so to answer my own question, yes it is still portable. Download Scratch Desktop Setup 3.5.0 Extract exe using 7zip Open $PLUGINSDIR folder and extract app-32.7z file The resulting folder is the portable version of scratch 3.5. Copy and rename that folder to anywhere you like (local or server share) and run Scratch Desktop.exe Job done
  19. Is v3 still effectively a portable app? All previous versions have been able to install on an admin pc and then copy the installed folder to multiple pc’s or run as a server app on a shared folder as it doesn’t write anything to the registry or any other folder....
  20. 4.0.54.10625 is now in release candidate that has packet drop tx issues listed in its fixes. Will try it on Tuesday when I’m back in the office
  21. Manifest Have watched all 18 episodes, similar in some ways to Lost but has a major swerve half way through and is quite clever
  22. Likewise here, stumped me for a bit but then like others, did the db first, then the full and it all went well
  23. What version of firmware is on your AP’s? 4.21 is the minimum
