About 20 mins and half an hour between films depending on the runtime as they didn't show credits, the organisers did say that the creadits for all three films would be shown right at the end and would take 28 mins (a legal abligation by all accounts). My son liked the world building, but isn't really action movie focussed, so found the battles and fight scenes a bit distracting from the parts he liked. He still really enjoyed them (the films) though.

We bailed at the final film. It got very hot and humid in the cinema and my son was getting a headache. The aircon was on and I bought a LOT of water for us, but it was still hellish. The screen was about 2/3 - 3/4 full, so was quite well attended. Many turned up with pillows, cushions etc. and that is a lesson for the future! It was enjoyable though and 8 hours screen time in there was respectable we think. My son is autistic and got quite annoyed at some teens a couple of rows back who couldn't\wouldn't keep quiet. I'm going to buy him the Blu-Ray so he can finish it off at home. £5 at CEX. Still, it was £30 for both of us, and when it comes to days out, that works out quite cheap!

Cost of living crisis 2022 - what have you cut back on?

I'm off to a 12 hour Lord Of The Rings (extended versions) mararthon at a small cinema in Southport today (midday to midnight). The longest I've ever done is a Star Wars marathon a couple of decades back. This is going to be interesting!

I'll add something to this. I know more than a few companies (some quite large) who would much prefer someone with 10-20 years experience at the coalface over qualifications. This is mainly down to their experince giving them a much broader overview of how differing systems, products etc. interact with each other and can create problems that a certification in a specific area doesn't cover. This experience allows them to see problems from the view of multiple factors rather than just a single issue (I hope this makes sense). And they are far less likely to be diving in and creating more issues, as that kind of time served professionalism gives you a much more wider view when it comes to problem solving. That is not to say that quals are not important, but we do seem to have become a nation of industries that have become qualification focussed rather than ability focussed. I blame HR departments

Ofqual and DfE studying ‘feasibility’ of ‘fully digital’ exams

I'd forgotten all about that! We stayed in the Coventry City football ground. They had a 'kind' of hotel where the rooms transformed into VIP boxes on match days. Very weird! But yes, the whole online exams saga grinds on and has been pointed out, it will be, mostly, the same issues all over again I suspect. The only thing that will make it usable will be the introduction of standards that every exam board must abide by. And to ask school tech staff for feedback first too before they make a complete pigs ear of it! -

The problem with renaming forums is that Google slaps you down in the results. They don't like things changing. When we do the migration, several forums (including Netbooks, PDA's...) will be getting renamed as we'd get a hit from them anyway as part of the process.

Keep this about businesses and not about councils please. We don't want to end up back into the polical sphere again!

I had a similar issue at home with a new laptop on Windows 10 last year. Coming out of sleep it would drop the wifi and refuse to connect. Nothing I tried (and it was pretty much EVERYTHING!) worked. Once I updated the laptop to W11 the problem went away. There is a lot on the net about Windows 10/11 having random wifi issues like this. I would end up disabling and re-enabling the laptop wifi as it was the only way I could get it to reconnect.

Blenders specs page list the following for both minimum and recommended specs - https://www.blender.org/download/requirements/ Minimum: 64-bit quad core CPU with SSE2 support 8 GB RAM Full HD display Mouse, trackpad or pen+tablet Graphics card with 2 GB RAM, OpenGL 4.3 Less than 10 year old Recommended: 64-bit eight core CPU 32 GB RAM 2560×1440 display Three button mouse or pen+tablet Graphics card with 8 GB RAM I would imagine that most PC's purchased in the past few years would meet many of the recommended specs (less RAM). But if you don't have anything that meets that then @ict-direct do sell refurbished workstations that can probably easily fill those requirements, especially when to comes to rendering.
