Quackers

Thats my point, Windows 8 is not been thought out well, Windows XP, Vista and 7 all work on netbooks fine, 8?, Microsoft know full well how many netbooks are out there, we have hundreds of them, get rid of Metro and put the start menu back and 8 would work fine on a netbook or even had a classic mode for using it on equipment like netbooks.

Have those who like Windows 8 have they tried it on a 10" netbook and then ran a Metro app? It just dont work. What happened to the nice 'Glass' theme?, now everything looks like Windows 3.0 graphics Its just borked in so many ways.

We changed it to our self, do you have a reliable enough connection and a backup connection from a different providor to host both the name servers on?

We use to get a 1-3% rise in April, but did not recieve it until November, back dated in Novembers pay to April, coupled with going up a point in the pay scale in April (if performance managment was met) was quite good.

Anybody know if were expected to get it this year? I think 2009 (or maybe 2010) was the last time we had one as the goverment froze it for 2 years.

Maybe a pixeled version of goatse.cx image from years ago would suit it? (Dads man cave, lol) sorry could not stop chuckling to my self.

How come your profile location says Germany?

on our Aastra phones the dial tone settings and ring tone settings are done on the handset config not the asterisk side.

SSH to the asterisk box after logging in change to the directory where that file is cd /etc/asterisk then to edit it type vi indications.conf when in press INSERT to enable editing, then when done you need to esc the type :x to exit and save.

If i had the choice of Windows 8 for £0.99p or Windows 7 for £99 i would choose Windows 7. I am not averse to new interfaces i quite happy flicked to Mac OS X, and iOS and Android, but there is somthing very VERY wrong with Windows 8, its a bad interface.

Yes, because even a Bic Biro is Technology or running water to our home. But i like having technology in my life.

Walkthrough: Boot Windows PE from Hard Disk Think tweaking that should enable you to.

Get Insight from Tasc software instead of SLG.

Anybody used any of the Acer cashback deals before? Got a laptop before christmas from ebuyer with £30 cashback, claim got approved Sunday but says can take upto 56 days for payment, just woundering if it will be 56 days or more likely a week?

It makes me sad seeing Nokia fail so much, but i jumped ship from being 100% Nokia since 1998 to Samsung Galaxy SII in 2011, and unless they dump Windows Mobile i do not intend on going back, i even went to iphone yesterday. They needed/need to do Samsungs stratagy, have the same phone more or less 1 with Android 1 with Windows Mobile and let the market decide.

If i remember correctly you just from from the command line slmgr /ipk PRODUCTKEYHERE for Office KMS you download an add on and prompts you for the key.

I would just dump them all, have a clear out and treat your self to a Mac. Its the best thing i ever did, last thing i want when i come home is to deal with yet more Windows issues, i want to relax and if it involves using a computer i do not want to be pulling my hair out with waiting for endless Windows updates to be installed when all i want to do is quickly look at a webpage, or be dealing with malware attacks and all other things that annoy me. I use to have 3 or 4 PCs at home and then laptops too, now its just my Mac Book Air and a Tablet and 1 desktop PC which has not been turned on for about 6 months.

It does look just like a highly developed Sim City, reminds me more of the 3000 graphics.

Using somthing like Operating system market share is better than counting how many copies have been sold. We have a few devices with Windows 8 OEM stickers on the bottom but they are not running it.

The dailygloom artical does say that at the school in that artical has had its best exam results for 48 years, attendance is at its highest, and behaviour is better than it was. So they must have an impact. I am watching this very closely because since 2009 we have had a 1:1 ratio of netbooks for years 9,10 and 11 (our GCSE years) and they work well, and are liked. Problem is netbooks are going to be stopped being made soon and looks like were going to have to go down the tablet route, but there are no cheap Windows tablets (yet). On the netbooks we use Sibelius, 2D Design, Office, Dance eJay, and websites like My Maths, i just do not see how we could achieve at the moment what we do on the netbooks with the ipad. Do kids really want to type essays on a touch screen? and i do not fancy running Sibelius over RDP... hopefully we can still get netbooks cheap when April comes.

What software do the kids use? I love the idea, but on ipads we can never find any apps to come close to what we would want, and with things like mymaths needing flash we would be stuck for resources. They must be having bespoke apps made or some team of content creators??

You know the MD of Zen? We have Zen, and i would not touch another ISP. Support from them is actually Tech and not a script monkey.

We go the opposite way, the warrentys are not worth it.

I had that issue with an Acer last month that came with Windows 8. I had to contact support and get an older BIOS and flash it. The normal support did not have a clue what SLIC was and i had to get it escalated to real tech support.

I do not know why but when watching the video on there web site i could not stop giggling.
