I have just had notification of a problem supplier from a manufacturer, - IJT Direct are having warrenty repairs removed from some equipment they sell for unethical trading aparantly removing new parts from equip and selling with compatable or replaced parts as new. So just to clarify some manufacturs are removing cover from equipment sold as new from - IJT Direct and asking to refer customers back to them. Marc Projector Engineer

Just note the screen your looking at is not interactive with a computer, its just inbuilt some functions are controld from the pen to the TV only. Also its been said many times but just to confirm if you buy a Casio just because it donesnt have a fan it still sucks in dust and requires cleaning also it DOES have a lamp it is NOT lampless, its just the lamp is a composite device that is laser lED and lasts longer but at the rate they are reducing the cover,.... not much longer. You may still find some Sanyo but......... as they are no longer trading, i would shop elsewhere..........They are relaiable but do need a little more maintainence than most. Marc Projector Engineer

If your buying an Epson please buy it from an Epson supplier NOT a Misco insight etc as you dont get the same warrenty, if you buy from Epson supplier from their website you will get a 5 year ON SITE warrenty with 3 year lamp cover. Dont wait for the X14 get a X11 or X12 for better vaule..... marc projector Engineer

OK what happens is if the battery voltage drops below .2v then it is very difficult due to low resistance of the battry to get it up on the normal charger but what you do have to be careful of is if your supply (the one you use to in effect overpower it) is capable of high curent it may cause the battry to presurise due to gassing within and may be liable to explode so please be careful, they make quite a mess and would injur you if you where holding it! But as you say with care yes you can help it, i will also mention once it has done this it is more likly to do it again. Marc Projector Engineer

I still dont understand your statement but anyway the cover on Casio is much the same as epson you you would still have to take it down for warrenty, yes epson do lamp replacement mounted but no matter. My point is the casio are not as cost efficient as at first belived and there are many not just epson that are better over the normal time period than casio also i dont recomend blowing air in the the unit it actually makes the dust infeltration worse they have to be stripped same as all other projectors. I think of them like flat screen brilliant idea but not quite there yet not cost effective, but all credit to them for brining them out. Marc Projector Engineer

There shold be no differance between mounting a UCF projector (wall mount) and one mounted on a ceiling, cables are cheap so can be disregurded, main cost is labour then mount, i know we dont diferenciate between the two. Marc projector Engineer

The epson has a 5 year lamp life, but all projectors need servicing Casio's included i have many 10s of them to service they suck in dust same as any other device with a fan, yes they claim 3000 lumins but i have never seen one that bright as i say the Epson is brighter at Epson claimed 2600Lumins then the Casio's claimed 3000 Lumins some makers use an avarage screen brightness (epson) and some (i suspect Casio do) use the brightest spot on the screen to get their reading hence giving a higher reading than the other, but in actual in use would be dimmer. Benifit of the epson is the wider install distance and the on site cover with SAME day swap out from local Epson supplier. Epson X11 much brighter that the Casio and much much more reliable and not susseptable to the Casio colour cast after a few 1000 hrs. Epson also have a 5 year on site cover and if you buy local from an epson dealer same day swapout!!! you also get 3 year lamp cover and with lamps now only £90 ish it makes the casio a poor buy. You can also set the epson to any distance from 3.2mtr to less than 2mtr for a 79" board. Marc Projector Engineer

Hi Unifi 45 was never a nice projector along with the Unifi 55 it was one of the worst i have ever seen, all you have to do is replace it with an Hitachi Ultra close somthing like the 221 so you can do away with the dredful pole as well. NEVER buy a DLP projector for a school they do not stand up to the constant running, the polerising disk spins at around 5000 RPM it age hardens and eventually shatters redering the unit only fit for the dustbin, i am supprised someone says they can repair it??? i suspect it will be swapped and you will get another unit back maybe in the same case (old stock) . I would because of price recomend board and projector the all in one are not big enough and are not cost effective over a long term, divide their life buy the cost comper to projector you will find they are about double. I would not normally order from such a company it was for a specific amp by Pluse unfotunatly they came up as cheapest ,.....hmm i wonder why. Maybe it because ours are half that price when we dont have any???? Marc Projector Engineer

Anyone had any dealings with PA Shack.com we ordred items for a school 3 weeks ago no delivers no replys to emails even tweeting them they delete any negative tweets. I would advise not using them unless anyone knows better? Marc Projector Engineer

I must say i agree with most of above the Epson is a great bit of kit and will replace almost anything great zoom and lens ofset so it doesnt mater if its offcenter to the screen you can correct it, from any Epson "Approved" reseller you have no limitation on hrs as far as the lamp goes we just say 3 years and 5 years projector on site with same day swap out (but we need the old lamp back on swap).The Epson does not suffer as badly from dust ingress and has a simple single filter to clean. I agree with the Casio statement as well i have seen a number fail and they get a colour cast with age (i did say this would happen when they came out knowing the composite lamp makeup)( and i have been proved right) they are also prone to overheating, casio have now halved their cover on these from the original claims.....speaks for itself. and as said above still need cleaning like any other. Yes the Hitachi is also a good unit i cant fault them but for a very very small amount of install in victorian schools where they need a sensor ajustment (all done on warrenty so no problem). On the acers its the earth lead that causes the problem, if you use a 2 wire PSU it doesnt have that problem (normaly its the other way around). Marc projector Engineer

Yes your right 221, i have found in practice they do go close to 109" and yes they are good units, but that said (here it comes) they sometimes do have a problem with Victorian Schools (high roofs) and suspended ceilings they sometimes at random turn off, if they do you have to ajust the internal and ext thermistor differance, but thats another story........ No its not that common, if you tell me the serial number i will tell you if its still under warrenty. The usual cause of this is projector switched off without cooling or Lamp run past it normal hrs ie. more than 2500Hrs Marc Projector Engineer

If you have a lead i recomend you try a different VGA lead from a laptop to the back of the projector it sounds like a broken lead if the Sync wire is broken or damaged screen (no there is no way of checking without stripping the insulation off) it can upset the imageyou will get rolling lines taking about 2 seconds to cover top to bottom and usually scrolling down. I agree with Oaktech Casio still need servicing every 1000Hrs same as any other projector, you migh also look at Hitachi Ultra Close focus something like the 220 as it will bolt on the wall above the screen and make maintainence simpler and is bright enough for that size. Marc Projector Engineer

Quite right Broc at the moment units are still available with adaptor to fit these, available from whoever provided it originaly, but bare in mind Sanyo has now stopped production of all projectors after the company ceased in a buyout from Panasonic. Marc Projector Engineer
