  1. Hi i would suggest it is an overheating problem, with no image they show a blue screen, they run much cooler with this (thats why its blue) if you put an image on and it then shuts down it may be overheating try opening the menu see if it does the same, or display a blue image from your computer see if it stays up? What is the lamp age (in hrs) is it possible either have ever been turned off with out cooling first? Marc
  2. If you need any help sorting your projector throw to screen and as to what model you might require.... Hi Marc Welcome to the site we ask suppliers who join up to do two things one in their sig put who they work for so every one is aware that your are a supplier. Also we ask you not to advertise on the board. So asking the op if post details so that you can post a follow up msg on board about what is best projector is fine. Good place to look is here on our supplier guidelines http://www.edugeek.net/forums/showthread.php?t=4808 Regards Russell Dyas EduGeek.net Admin Marc
  3. There are several reasons that cause dimming of projected image before end of expected lamp life, i would be pleased to go through this with you if you want to ring me Marc 01472 236221 ( i am a projector engineer). Marc
  4. I would recomend the Epson EMP X5 for that res and 2000 ANSI, also the service spacing is better on this machine and has only 1 filter but are you replacing one as you may also have to take in to consideration the distance from the WhiteBoard, if you require further help or advise please IM me and i will ring you. 5. Hi everyone, projectors willlast for years if you maintain them, please see my other postings, I am an engineer working on projectors every day i still see somt projectors more than 8 yers old and working as good as ever, as long as you dont exceed the rated hours of the lamp and have them deep cleaned (not to be confused with filter cleaning) when required they will last years and years. The biggest killer of projectors is over running the lamps. Changing projector can bring its own set of problems with differing focal lengths (you may have to move the mount) if you dont get the correct advice. Our Company will give advice either by phone or email on all aspects of projector maintaince, repair and replacement, with out obligation. Marc Oglesby Sen. Eng. 6. No lenses are not normally a problem, yes they do get some dust ingress but unless this is really bad it is not a problem yes it will dim the image slightly but as yet i have never had to rebuild a lens. The yellowing is usually dust as is the more usual pink/purple if you wind the focus fully out you will focus on the inner elements of the LCD and it will display the dust, on occasions where the projector has not been serviced or lamps have been over run the UV out put of the lamp goes up and burns the polerizing filter this causes the yellowing (scorch marks) this can (usually) be repaired, ring me for more info. 8. Hi hello all, Sanyo projectors, I am an engineer. Right some sanyo's are more suseptable to dust than others and as long as the filters are cleaned often and the lamp is changed at the correct time there is no reason why a projector after cleaning should not be as good as new, the problem is most schools do not change the lamps on time and this damages the Ballast unit causing dimmer out put even after changing the lamp. The lamp is an arc lamp (spark gap) and with age the gap gets bigger if you dont change the lamp on time the poor old projector will still try to do its best to get the same lihgt out put by turning up the voltage to the lamp eventually damaging itself in the attempt, hence the dimmer after replacing the lamp problem. how to cure CHANGE THE LAMP at correct time , do not over run the lamp it will kill your projector, if you say use it every day at a school you should be changing it every 2 years (rule of thumb). All that aside we also offer a rebuild and deep clean service for £70 and we usually (depending on quantity) return them the day after we get them. Please if you have any problems email me [email protected] or ring me 01472 236221 i would be please to offer you telephone help and advice (and no we are not a premium rate line). We offer advice and cleaning and repair to ALL makes of projectors not just Sanyo. Just ask for Marc
