We are starting to explore virtualization and I may in the future be looking to virtualise one IT room as a test case. I would be looking to virtualize 35 machines using Hyper-V and have a few questions. * What hardware would I be looking at server and client? * How would the clients in the rooms log onto the virtual machines, is there a way to auto connect them to a virtual machine from a pool using RDP. Am I looking at client virtualization in the completely wrong way * Has anyone virtualised a whole room. Thanks in advance

This is more a starter setup so in truth it will be bands at most, we were looking to get something like the small school radio studio station from schoolradio.co.uk, so I was really interested in what sort of things people had for their school radio and recording studios.

He wants a Mac to do it with and he is a music teacher.

Hi, When trying to run any report in SIMS users are getting "path not found". This only started a few days ago (only just reported to me today though ). Any ideas?

We have around 110 mixed local and network, I am looking to consolidate these down to around 30, giving each department a B&W and Colour Laser, the rest staying in Admin sections.

We have Cams in out IT suites, installed by ourselves, we use AXIS ip cams and their own recording software on a beefy PC. We had the usual moaning about spying on teachers etc, but now mos staff forget they are there.

We use NOD32 here, used to use Symantec but Nod is much easier to use.

Got in this morning to find that users permissions on their user areas have disapeared. Their username is still in the permission list but none of the boxes under Allow/Deny are ticked, it's not global either as about 3% of users in each OU are unaffected, none of the inherited permissions are affected either and only 3 out of 5 of the year groups. Very weird, I have now ticked all the full control boxes for all the students by hand, ouch! Anyone else experienced thison Server 2008 R2?

The server is in a test UO at the moment with only 1 user PC, I get random machines as spoofed, I have added a new persistant route (I did forget to put mask in ), I have cleared all alerts and see what happens.

Hi, Need a bit of help with routing tables, I am trying to resolve spoofing problems within MS TMG and I am having a few problems configuring the routing tables to stop it ( i am new to routing tables). I understand the theory behind the routing tables but what I am struggling to get is what exactly to enter in. MY network runs as follows: 10.217.x.x with a mask of 255.255.0.0 we use various ip sets like 10.217.10.x - 10.217.14.x for DHCP and other ranges for printer etc. How do I cover adding all these ranges to stop the spoofing, I have tried route -p add 10.217.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.217.0.110(the nic) but it does not seemed to have stopped it, what have I missed. Any nudge in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thanks
