I am coming up against a really annoying problem with Server 2008 but it is probably just me missing something. When I am trying to install software from a network share I get the error 'Access denied' even though I am logged on as domain admin and can navigate to the share. So I copied the file and pasted in into a temp folder on the c drive of the server and tried to run it from there, error: Can not access specified file - you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I have added my domain account to the security list for the exe giving myself Full Control and I get the same error, I even added my domain account as a local admin for the machine, same result. It's bugging me now.

I was wondering what language packs you install on a new windows build if any at all? Had a request from EMAS to install a load so I thought I would see what other do.

Ed Balls has made me laugh all week with his Bleeding Heart cry of "Think of the Children!!!!!!!!!!". If Ed and his mate Gordon had thought of the children years ago and not spent all our cash on illegal immigrants, a Welfare handout society and Criminal Rights then we would have the cash to spend on the children. Way to go Ed, once again we see Labours rank hipocrisy in oppostion yet again. -
Thanks all, you have been a great help.

With the up coming required migration of SIMS/FMS to SQL I have decided to move them to a new server, trouble is I don't know which one is best so here are my options: I have 2 spare servers both are blades. Number 1: 2 x Quad Core Xeon 2.0Ghz 12GB RAM Total of 8 cores available Number 2: 2 x Quad Core Xeon 2.27Ghz 8GB RAM Total of 16 cores available So which one would be best and will SIMS and FMS install on 64 bit 2008 R2? Thanks

My exams officer is trying to create a CTF file and her machines just hangs, it does the same thing even on the server. She managed to create the CTF file on Weds butshe has ammended it and is now trying to recreate it. Eventually it threw up this error on one attempt: The ROLLBACK TRANSACTION request has no corresponding BEGIN TRANSACTION We have also had the odd problem with people over the last few days getting: Connection to database timed out I have increased the time out to 100000. Anyone with any ideas on these issues? Thanks

Cuts are what happens when a previous government spends shed loads of cash it does not have. We are currently getting a BB throug our LEA at a cost of 18k rising to 24k next year, for 100mb to the LEA and then out through their 100mb pipe, which is shared with all schools. I can however get now from BT 100mb true 1:1 contention direct to internet pipe with free install and 100% uptime SLA for 20k, we are talkingabout it at the moment.

It won't be a patch on the playability that was the original Star Wars Galaxies.

What needs to happen is this: Get rid of the likes of Lampard, Terry Gerrard etc need to be scrapped from the england team, they are all 30+ or pushing very close to it. The younger players like Rooney, Walcott etc need to stay, they are young enough to adapt to the new system. Rebuild the team with young fresh players and a new tactical system. Remove the payment system for playing for England, you play for pride not for money. Start from fresh with a young new squad use the Euro's in 2 years time to blood them in prep for the main tournament in 2014. Disease for England manager!

A Long time ago before my time the decision wasmade to have SIMS and FMS on different servers. This has meant that over this period we have had a disjointed update policy for both packages, SIMS updates via solus FMS because it's on it own server does not update through solus and needs dedicated downloads. Now with the need to move both SIMS and FMS to SQL 2008 I want to get them back on the same server so I can update them bot through solus. The other problem is we pay the LA for sims support and capita for FMS. Anyone done this or have any idea how t go about it. Thanks.

Headline grabbing again! They will only not face ofsted if their exam results and other indicators remain the same or improve. If they dip, ten Ofsteds start again. As a previousposter said, it would be good if people read the whole article and not just the headlines.
