  1. I totally agree, it's funny how so many Labour supporters what tis coalition to fail and yearn for a double dip recession just so they can hide from their miserable record over the last 13 years.

  4. Hi all, Having a problem with my exchange upgrade to 2010 fro 2003. They have been running in coexistance for a few months now and thought the half-Term would be a great opportunity to move over all the mailboxes and decomission the old server. I have moved all the boxes over to the 2010 server, I have created a new SMTP connector on the 2010 server, I have 3 problems. 1. When I turn off the old mail server I can send mail out but I can not recieve anymail in, ( we have a barracuda Spam and firewall 400 server, I have set the destination mail server on the barracuda to the exchange 2010 server) the mail comes into the network and shows in the message log as arrived and allowed on the barracuda. The mail however does not reach the client machine. I switch back on the old mailserver and te mail that was waiting pings through, have I missed a step somewhere? 2. Outlook Web Apps, I have changed the external ip address to point to the new 2010 server for OWA, when you go to the page you get the certificate warning page, but when you click contnue to this website it shows a 404 error. Navigate to the internal version and it worksfine https://193.164.114.231/owa . 3. Shared calendars sow no connection when trying to view someones calendar. I would appreciate any help on this as it's driving me nuts, thanks

All IT and software has to be approved by me (NM) first, departments fill in an order form it goes to me, I sign it off after checking compatibility/Price/Need things like that, after it is signed it off it goes to finance and it is marked for delivery to me. When it comes in we assett register it and ten pass it on to the department that wanted it.
  8. Apple seem to be hitting the headlines a lot recently for all the wrong reasons. I wonder how long before people start going after apple for their business practices the same way people did to Microsoft. Don't worry Steve, your ivory tower (built in california TM) will come tumbling down soon enough. Apple's business practices stink.
  9. I gave up smoking 5 years ago, I used patches but quit in 6 weeks, 2 weeks at each strength of patch. I used sugar free polos to aid me, every time I felt like a cig I would have a polo intead, once you quit the polos are easy to kick. 5 years later I feel as if I have never wanted a cig, I don't get any cravings, not even if I stand next to someone who is smoking.

  14. Anyone know of a way? It seems to me that because they both use the live.com address you can't have one without the other. I go to all the trouble of setting up a closed campus system with live@edu and I hand the students access to hotmail at the same time. I am using vanilla ISA 2006

  19. Yes, we may have to pay slightly more, but we will get a faster service and more control. At the moment we get 100mb from us to the LA the same as every other school, then we are all contended on their 30mb bearer outto the internet, which often results in poor DL speeds. We can also then control what is filtered and what is not.
  20. We are going through the same process at the moment, we are being charged £19 per pupil on roll for our Broadband and all the schools are looking to see if we can get a better service ourselves. BT will give us 100mb on 100mb bearer uncontended direct to internet for a tad over 20k a year.
  21. I only have Telephone with them and Unlimited Evening and weekend calls.
  22. I only pay £35 for my 50mb, price is dependant on how hard you negotiate.
  23. The only throttling they do on the 50mb service is on upload, I don't fileshare I just download lots and lots, Downloading is not throttle on Virgin 50mb.
  24. Just get Virgins 50mb service, you get no throttling then.
  25. I would rather use Linux than Apple OS, I do have an IPHONE though which means Steve Jobs now owns me, including my Liver for when his current one breaks.
