  3. Any chance of getting some names to faces of the Edugeek reps at Bett? Be intersting to know who is who when watching the Vids and looking at pics
  4. I have no sympathy for him, it's about time judges started to hand out decent custodial sentences for violent behaviour, I hope the muppet enjoys his new career path at Asda. I think the government should have raised tuition fee's again after the riots to compensate the tax payer for the damage caused by these supposedly educated people.
  5. Hey Less of the professional pal!!!!!!
  6. Hardly a valid arguement considering most MP's a millionaires, or do you still believe 2 jags was just a working class guy.
  7. Without wanting to get into an extended arguement on the do's and dont's or coming across as arsey what qualifications do you need exactly to research the legalities of an action and provide feedback on what you have found? I am one of these people who just gets on with things and does not let barriers get in my way I don't intend to sound arsey.
  8. You have no idea what my remit is.
  9. Thanks for te replies, but in the nicest possible way, I am not interested in the issue around staff training and if it should be the job of SMT or not, this iswhat I have been tasked with doing. I have found what I was after anyway, thanks to those who responded, here is a link to and copy of the current guidance. Teachernet, Mobile phones
  10. Valid points as we know though unless you quote specific legislation they do not think it applies to them, well in my school anyway
  11. I need to send out an email to all staff detailing why we are not permitted to search, read, copy or delete texts, pictures or videos from pupils phones. Some teachers believe that it is perfectly legitimate for them to read texts on phones they have confiscated and that we can copy pictures and videos off of said phones for us to use for evidentary purposes. Can anyone point me in the right direction to any legislation I can add to my email to highlight this issue? Thanks

  16. That is exactly what I am trying to achieve, I am trying to virtualise clients, I have no idea if that is the bes way to go though, any one point me in the right directions for windows thin client solutions that I can implement myself on existing hardware?
  17. I have Smartboards which are 6 years old and still going strong, we moved from promethian 6 years ago and not looked back.
  18. I am after some advice for virtualisation which we a looking to experiment with. I have a server running Hyper-V 2 x 2.5 Quad Core HT CPU 40GB Ram 10k SAS drives. Bonded Network Connection How many virtual clients could I run using this server? I have created 15 xp machines on here so far, how do I connect to these virtual machines from a machine in a room, is there a way to PXE boot into a remote desktop session, or have I totally missunderstood te way this works? Thanks.
  19. I just recieved 10 Asus 1000PE's and they all have the 4400 battery. Maybe they dropped the spec on the P due to the PE coming out?
  20. Just tell him Becta standards do not exist anymore, just like Becta
  21. I have just had a quote from Virgin MEdia for: 100 - Mbps One Off Installation Charge £0.00 ISP Connection Annual Rental Charge £12,000.00 CISCO 3845 Fully Managed Rental Charge £2,950.00 Total Annual Charge for 100Mbps £14,950.00 Seems like good value, you need to budget in filtering though on top of that.
  22. I have wasted so much of my life on MMO's that I just can not be bothered with them anymore.
  23. I thought it looked very nice, if a little slow to load (it was not tat slow to be fair).
  24. Looks very much like a Dragons Den Idea that would not get investment due to cost of the item. Also people in this age of Austerity would not pay te money for it. An example is milk in a bag, you buy the fridge tub and the top it up with milk from a bag, the downside is that it's still cheaper to buy milk in an ordinary plastic bottle. Just a gimmick really.
  25. Cheers for the replys Mail Comes into the school via an MX entry with our domain host which points to an external IP provided by the LA, the LA point this external ip to our barracuda server which ten sends the mail on to the mail server. I can see the mail coming in, it arrives at the barracuda and shows in the message log as allowed. but with the exchange 2003 box disconnected it does not arrive. As soon as I switch the EX2003 box on the mail comes through again, even though the barracuda is set t deliver the mail to the EX2010 server. On the OWA front, I do not have an external domain name I just have an external IP address which was used by the old exchange 2003 frontend server to provide Outlook Web Access, all I have done is enabled OWA in 2010 and changed the external address in the settings to use that IP address, so the old OWA used http://193.164.114.201/exchange I used in 2010 http://193.164.114.201/OWA. I got the LA to change the ip address to point to the 2010 box instead of the 2003 Frontend.
