I have to give a presentation to all stff tomorrow on available future tech and how it can enhance teaching and pupils ability learn, sort of an educational transformation presentation in the run up to BSF. Anyone have any suggestions for up and coming tech I could include? I hate giving presentations.

What are your yearly, monthly and weekly tasks, what do you have to contribute to the school planning and policy wise? I have been fighting fires here for ages and am now starting to see light at the end of the tunnel (jus as BSF is rearing it's ugly head ironically) and am now starting to look at what things other schools are doing, to see if I should be doing those as well now that I am in a position to take a more proactive approach to things. Thanks:)

When I used to live in Brisbane as a kid I used t collect Red Backs in a jar and keep it by my bed. I liked spiders until I went into the garden to climb the tree that was there and put my hand right next to a massive huntsman. Ever since then I have hated spiders. For anyone who lives/Lived in Brisbane I lived in Goodna.

I done a test backup to our D2D drive of all our data, it was 812gig and it took 35 hours That was all data including 4 SQL databases with consistency check before and after and 2 exchange servers granular with consistency check and fully verification. I have teamed the connection today so will see if that reduces the time of the differental tonight.

I have just bought a HP X1600 12TB Storage array, so I should be ok for space, at the moment all user areas are contained on a 150gb drive. When I commission the 12tb array I am going to create a 1TB mirror as a new home for the user areas, I will them implement a quota system of some sort.

We use Fujitsu Fi-6130's here, we have 3 of them and they work like lightning. We store the documents on a Storage Server. -
Anyone have one I could have a look at, I need to set up a policy for staff here and any help is greatly appreciated.

Is there any alternatives to I-Desk that I could look at?
-
I have been taksed with a room revamp and we want to use an integrated solution such as the I-Desk i-rise, has anyone had any experience with them or able to suggest any alternative manufacturers? We are looking for a 32 unit installation but we want units like the i-rise that turn back into clear desks.

Anyone done it, if so did you need to go through a specific process to get it to clone, mine just crashes after cloning.

Tried his mailbox using OWA, still only shows recent messages from the last 3 days no sign of the 400+ items that EMC says is in there.

LOL, that cheered me up.

We are having some users who seem to be losing their emails in the inbox. I am currently running exchange 2003 with 2010 in transition, 2003 is set as the mailflow server. Had a user complain this morning that their inbox is empty, sure enough it was, in exchange management their mail box shows having 420 items. I have removed the settings in outlook and reset them, I hve cleared profiles as well as other things. Nothing I seem to do will show the messages stored in exchange, the user has items in his sent items folder and deleted items but nothing in inbox. Any idea? This seems to have started with the introduction of exchange 2010 Thanks

I installed the datacenter key which is above the Win 7 key. I think I have just worked it out, these machines I am trying to activate were installed BEFORE I had set up KMS properly, I assume that KMS in envoked DURING install and not after and that is why I was being asked for a key. I would need to re-install these machines or use a MAK key I guess.
-
I am being a bit thick here, I have read through most of the threads regarding this and I still do not get it. I have setup a KMS server on a Windows 2008 Ent edition, an entry has been created in dns and the firewall exceptions have been entered. So, I then go and install Server 2008 Ent R2 on another server, it asks me for a key during install so I enter my KMS key which it wont accept as it's says "that is a kms key" so it's left unactivated at the moment. If I go to use my KMS key again on that server it says this is a KMS key do I wish to use it? I also install a Win 7 test machine and that did the same thing, this time I used the Win 7 KMS key and it installed the KMS server on that machine, I used the /upk command to remove it now it's left keyless and won't activate Where am I going wrong?

Moving from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007
Disease replied to Geek_of_HeathMount's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
I thought in order to have a 2008 Domain controller you have to upgrade all cuurent 2003 DC's to 2008. I am sure that when I went to install a new DC using 2008 it said that I could not do it until all current DC's were 2008, I am probably wrong in that but I am sure that's what it said. Anyway I seem to have partly hijacked this thread sorry. -
Moving from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007
Disease replied to Geek_of_HeathMount's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
I plan to upgrade all my servers to 2008 over the course of next year, from what I understand you can do a straight upgrade from Server 2003 to 2008. Thanks for the advice I will certainly take it onboard.
