Zoom have only just decided to enable point to point encryption on the free version - used to have to pay for the feature! Our staff mostly caught on to Zoom for calls, but don't use for anything confidential. Staff are aware of teams but yet to fully demo it's capabilities To me, zoom is ok for personal/social use, but Teams is definitely more for collaborative and presenting presentations without the need to show your full desktop.

I use a mixture - TheDude is free (windows install), you can use the older local install rather than the newer client/server version. LanTopology is good for scanning network and showing uplink ports etc, however you need snmp enabled switches for this to work. I use the free PRTG network monitor version for monitoring exchange DAG and services and HP System Insight Manager to monitor server health. Also, just started to look into Zabbix - free and comes as a downloading VM or ISO for simple install even if you know nothing about Linux!

Can i just clarify something? If i have a core switch which is built up of say 2 x switches in a ring stacking mode which are seen as 1 logical switch, can i use LACP for redundancy to another switch, as they are seen as 1 logical switch. In this instance say an edge switch uses 2 x SFP ports back to the core, 1 connection into the core switch 1 and 1 connection into core switch 2. If i use LACP this will form redundancy if one of the core switches fail? Would STP just be required if both core switches were in standalone mode?

Are you mixing HP for Core and Cisco for edge switch where the CCTV is? If using the 'ping' function from your core switch, you cannot ping the cctv, then its either because you've not tagged correctly, or the CCTV has the wrong default gateway. You need to resolve that first as that is testing between core switch and cctv, and then the client PC will need a default gateway of your VLAN 1 IP on the core switch, so when you ping the CCTV IP range your core switch becomes your new gateway. To assist in the past to check tagging is correct I have created an IP interface on the edge switch on the VLAN and tested ping connectivity to the VLAN IP from core to edge switch, so can troubleshoot along the link. On your core switch, it's 10.x.x.x L3 entry should be pointing to 0.0.0.0 and then the switch's default gateway the IP of your sites router.

Can you ping the CCTV camera using the 'ping' tool on your core switch? If not, have you correctly set the Camera port to the correct VLAN? Sounds like you've got the PC gateway correct to ping the core switch L3 interface but either gateway of the camera wrong, or port that the camera in connected to not setup correct,. is the camera connected to same switch or another?

Just publish explorer.exe as an APP and they'll be able to access a windows with all network drives as normal.

Think I sussed it out in the end just took a while for changes to populate ad graphs today look less blocky. I ended up duplicating the built in snmp template changing the interval to 15s on traffic in and traffic out values and assigning the custom template to the host.

Hope all are keeping safe and well. I retrieved 500m of fiber cable which ran between 2 buildings when one became redundant. I can run the fiber cable myself where i need it, but just need someone to terminate/test only. Does anyone know of anyone in Lincolnshire that can offer a termination only service? I can provide fiber patch panels etc so it's just the splicing/termination required. If you do, i would be grateful. Thanks.

Is anyone else using Zabbix for monitoring.? I'm currently using free version of PRTG but looking to switch to zabbix. Traffic graphs are capturing in zabbix but very blocky and would like them to be a bit more accurate like the PRTG ones. I've tried changing some of the interval.settings but don't seem to have any effect. Wondered if anyone would be able to assist so I can increase the capture Interval as believe it's 1m by default? Thanks.

An interesting read, our staff have been told not to assume that IT rooms will be available and they will not be allowing staff to use the air con units. It was suggested each member of staff have their own and keyboard and mouse to plug in to each machine they use.

Thanks I'll give it another go and test making sure I keep the original back up before enabling. I assume I can enable on the current live servers as doesn't affect the standard remoteapp and will just need to direct users to the new url path when want to test with users or roll out?

Would you mind sharing what set of instructions you used for enabling HTML5. i have 2 sites using remoteapp and i enabled html5 on one of them some time ago for testing. wasnt until weeks later when i wanted to add another app it borked the server and could no longer access the 'collections' part in server manager to manage any of the apps. Varies for me across our sites. One uses Veeam (Vmware hosts), but for other (hyper-v) windows server backup. However it's scripted, I have 3 folders, Today, Yesterday and older, which each day it rotates round so i can restore an entire VM back up 3 days ago, and then have a separate file level backup daily on a longer rotation schedule.

How is 3CX connecting to your phone system ? On-Site hardware via external IP, vpn, cloud provider? Dedicated SIP line or on same as main broadband? We have a dedicated SIP broadband line connected to our onsite Unify Box. I VPN into the school site, and 3CX connects to the site's internal box IP as an extension. I've made /received several calls over the VPN link whilst been in lockdown and callers say i'm loud and clear.

Yes, workstation patch has been released which fixes the issue, but i've also noted that on some accounts (possibly the ones who had the greyed out issue) it now shows the fields in BLUE when you double click to show the full entry details which I am currently querying with Capita.

Just wondering if there's any Zabbix experts out there that can help? I've got a VM setup and installed with zabbix, can access the web UI etc without issue and it seems to be producing data for the zabbix server. I added several network devices yesterday with SNMP and none are yet collecting data. Is anyone able to help? I've got the same install setup as home and that works with the switches, but for some reason when adding them to my work install, it's not collecting any data although showing snmp as green thanks

I managed to get further with the download specified but now the installation doesnt complete, because i'm assuming it needs to connect to the internet during setup and we have to use a proxy server!!

Has anyone else got Zabbix appliance installed on Hyper-V? I've tried both the 2008 and 2012 pre-configured VMs on hyperv 2016 and windows 10 and not able to get any to boot properly. Can anyone assist please Thanks

Using it here between the team - only thing is our schools are still on separate 365 tenancy's son when trying to do group chats with other organisation you don't get the full features as a guest.
