  1. Really sorry but I have no idea what this sentence means - if you could perhaps reword your issue then someone here might be able to help.
  2. I got a reply the same day with a link to download the file and a youtube video showing how to import the .xml file!
  3. We dont have time for that so we use Impero that automatically screenshots and emails them out for the teachers to deal with if they so wish just got the Counter-Radicalisation keyword list so that will not be setup to email out to the nominated person to deal with
  4. You dont have to have the full Impero suite you can pretty much choose what you want and dont want to purchase - we use SCCM for deploying/updating software so do not purchase the Patch Management option with Impero thus saving us money. The lists of rooms takes around 3 seconds per room for us to set up - it all depends on your naming convention for computers suites. We use a room number followed by a PC number, i.e. A9-01 so in Impero when we set up a room/list we use a wildcard like this: A9-* and that automatically adds all of the computers in that room A lot of our Teachers use Impero for screencasting and sending out and collecting work - i.e. they send out a document to all the students in the room they are in, get them to fill it in and then save it and then use Impero to grab the document and put it on their laptops which eases the strain on our email server as it doesnt get clogged up with loads of files if they use this feature.
  5. I think this has to be a feature that Impero need to work on. This feature is OK but like you say all they've got to do is change the name of the file and they can then open it! Blocking by Product ID or a Hash is a great idea - I hope someone from Impero is listening and taking note as this would be a great addition/selling point
  6. Download updates automatically but manually install them during the half-term breaks.
  7. I meant via the .xml as I've dont it the same way I have with 8/8.1 but it just doesnt show up when I log on as a student! Works OK for me, but not my boss so no idea what is going on!
  8. Thanks for your quick replies! I've already sent it to your support team - I just thought I'd post it on here to see if anyone else had had the issue and could offer us an explanation/fix to save you guys from having a duplicate call/incident/job as I know you're very busy at the moment.
  9. How did you redirect your Start Menu - the same way as 8/8.1 or is there a new way as I've done it the same way I did it on 8.1 with a .xml file but it just wont appear when I log on as a student?!
  10. Yes we updated a few weeks ago and we updated all student computers to the latest version in 1 day to ensure that there were no computers on different versions. Impero shows all computers on the same correct version of 5121 which is what we upgraded to. Speaking to different people it seems that they first noticed slower log on times around about the same time we did the upgrade - could be a coincidence but after seeing the above message in the Event Viewer I'm not so sure.
  11. Over the last few weeks we've noticed that our log on times have become even more slower than normal and I have just spotted this in the Event Viewer: If I'm reading this right then Impero is causing a 30 second delay on our logons?
  12. Just updated SCCM to SCCM 1511 and after a week of trials (and tribulations) yesterday I successfully deployed a test Windows 10 build to one of our older dual-core computers! Just about to start messing about with the Start Screen/Menu and some Group Policies etc.
  13. I created a self-extracting ZIP file when I had to do something similar and then deployed that via SCCM which did the trick for me.
  14. itservices@ for all equiries and job logging and we break the rules (that we set) for individual alias' too so have our firstname@ as our own personal alias' too.
  15. Never heard that before. We only use 32b versions of Office 2010, 2013 and 2016 and 2016 has successfully removed 2010 and 2013 programs automatically. It's one of the options you can set using setup.exe /admin
  16. This page tells you the switch to use at the command line: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/cc178956.aspx Are you going down the Open Office route or simply no longer any Office type programs at all any more?
  17. It's just the extremism/counter terrorism one(s) we're waiting to get our hands on! All the others are working fine and now that we have gotten around to getting Impero to email us a screenshot when there has been a Violation ourselves and our eSafety team are enjoying all the Freudian slips the kids make when misspelling words!! Word has gotten around now since we've been printing out screenshots of the worst offenders and taking them to the teacher straight away as they come in our Inboxes so the teacher can deal with the issue. We've even had a couple of tests where students have typed something inappropriate just to see if we're still monitoring them and we are! The best thing about all the violation emails is that (touch wood) so far there are no eSafety issues to worry about as (ignoring the false-positives) most of the violations are simply silliness - you know, a student walks away from their computer, leaves it unlocked and a fellow student types a rude work randomly in the middle of their work hoping they will hand it in like that!! We have always found the support from Impero to be prompt, professional and friendly!
  18. Never had a problem with Impero support. Yes sometimes when the lines are busy we leave a voicemail and the have always called us back to help answer our questions/queries I did send an email 2 weeks ago for a particular keyword library and only got a reply the other day saying that it's not available yet as they're still testing it - they seem to have the most robust testing facilities in the world as 2 years ago we were given a beta of the particular keyword library we were after and they're still 'testing' it!!

    UPS ON SWITCHES

Sneider/APC UPSs on our switches - 1U rack mounted things, mainly to prevent power surges from damaging the switches with the added bonus of around 20 minutes or so power should there be a power cut.
  20. We use Impero to log inactive computers off after 45mins (which is how long a lesson lasts) and then SCCM turns any left on at around 9:15pm when any lettings have finished.
  21. If you want to create an Image you will need to download Windows 10 from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center, install it from scratch, enter the MAK key and then install and configure all your software. Then you can SysPrep the machine and create an image which you can then image on to your other computers.
  22. Microsoft SCDPM 2012 R2 works well at our schools.
  23. We've been using http://www.athema.co.uk for refurbished HP printers - so far so good
  24. Uninstall those roles. Then, re-install one at a time, reboot, check it's OK and then continue to the next one.
