Thanks for the reply but like I said, 2 hard disks have failed, the data is lost as more than 1 disk has failed, the configuration of them is OK as as soon as I replace the 2 hard disks I can easily re-create the array but it will be empty, hence my question on what to do with SCDPM 2012R2 as it is still looking for the disk array that no longer exists so I currently have no backups to disk. Any DPM users out there know what I need to do?

A QNAP NAS that have have connected to our SCDPM 2012R2 server via iSCSI which decided to stop working (2 hard disks have failed) so once I have fixed it I will have a new array with no data on it. What do I need to do with regards to DPM to get it to forget about the previous array and start backing up to the new one?

Our PTP Bridge briefly went down (it's a Deliberant APC Mach 5 V2) and in the logs it says it was Radar was detected, as soon as it stopped detecting Radar connectivity resumed. Not sure what Radar is when it comes to wireless, but clearly it doesnt like it! Can anyone shed any light on this and what we can do to stop it from happening again? Thanks.

We have a portable ClassWatch system that is so simple that even a Teacher can use it! All they have to do is plug everything in to the laptop and then turn the laptop on. It automatically starts recording so all they have to do is make a note of when they're lesson started and then they can review it. After 48hrs all recordings are automatically deleted as the system is purely for the Teacher to record themselves and then watch the video themselves.

Are you using an existing group policy or have your created a new one from scratch? When we started putting W8.1 in our computer suites I just updated the existing group policy with mixed results. I now have them in a separate OU in AD with a nice new fresh group policy which works a treat.

Thanks for your reply but that looks like just a setting for the Autorecover setting - unless you're saying that the temp file Word creates when you open a Word Document is the autorecover file?

When you open a Word Document, Word creates a temporary file of the same name with ~$ at the beginning of it in the same folder that the Word Document is saved in (screenshot of an example attached). We use Disk Quotas to allocate storage space to our students and some of them have extremely large Word files full of all sorts of media so when they come to actually save their Word Document they get told there is no room to save it. The reason for this is because they may have had 100MB of free space left when they started but when they opened up their Word Document the temp file has eaten up that space. My question is this, is there a way of excluding these files from the Disk Quota we have on Server 2008R2 or is there a setting somewhere where we can tell word to save the ~$ temp files in a folder on the local computer rather than where the file is saved?

I second that, we did the same thing in a very small remote location and put Server 2012R2 on it and it worked like a charm. Being a server computer it is designed to stay powered on 24/7 a Desktop computer isnt and will fail sooner that a proper server.

Oddly enough it didnt do it last night - I shall wait and see what happens tonight as last week it did it every night from Tuesday-Friday.

I got rid of this silly animation by using a Group Policy, it's seems to speed things up a little bit (not by much on our ageing computers) but it looks better than all the screens in the room mimicking a rainbow!

There are 5 VM's on the Hyper-V host and there is only one that this is happening to. We use SCDPM2012R2 for our backups and have been backing them all up fine - it's only last week that this issue has occurred. The Express Full Backup starts at 19:30 on the Hyper-V host so it could be related to backups, just not sure why it is only happening to one server as they are all backed up the same way??

When you get good service you continue to be a customer so it makes good business sense to be like this. It's a shame a lot of other companies arent as good at the after sales side of things as if the after sales service is rubbish (especially when you pay an annual subscription for it) then it's unlikely you'll renew. I too have always found Impero's support to be very responsive. Keep up the good work Impero Support!

Our Network/Server monitoring system has reported that last week (Tuesday-Friday) that it lost contact (PING) with one of our servers at approx 19:42 each evening. This did not happen over the weekend however. The server is a Virtual Server running on Hyper-V. If I log on to the Server itself it has an uptime of 23 days and there are no entries in the Event Viewer to indicate that a restart or shutdown has occurred. If I log on to the Hyper-V Host Server and look in Hyper-V Manager it says it has an uptime of just 2 days - i.e. it was last turned on, on Friday at around 19:46! I cant see anything untoward in the Event Viewer - certainly no reboots/restarts/shutdowns. So which is right 23 days or 2 days, why the discrepancy and why is this happening?!

50 miles, 150, 400 miles - if you can support printers based in a School in Wellingborough then we need a quote from you! The 50 miles comes from the maximum option on a pull-down menu on the official Samsung web site where if you choose printer maintenance companies the maximum it will search is within 50 miles of the town/city you enter. No results for 50 miles within Wellingborough so I tried all the major cities as I assume that there are more companies in a city than a town or village and got NO RESULTS from Samsung!!

That link is about as much use as a chocolate teapot! That's the first place I looked and I have tried every major city in the UK from Glasgow to London (50miles radius of each as this is the max the site has) and they have no Printer service locations!!! And judging by the lack of resonses here, there are no authorised Samsung Printer repair centres in the whole of the UK!

Not sure where to put this, as printers are hardware that's the section I've put it in (I'm sure a Mod will move it if it's in the wrong place)! I'm looking for an Authorised Samsung Printer repair agent/company. If you know such a company (or are such a company) then please get in touch ASAP! Thanks.

I have just VPN'd in to work and can see that the two tests I performed with the newly updated answer file have worked! A build and capture and a deployment of an existing build are now have UK settings! Changing one to US and the others to GB resolved my issue. Wish I could remember the website I used as a guide to create my original file so I could update it with my findings!

This is very odd as I used Microsofts WSIM tool to generate it! I will make the recommended changes and give it another go. Thanks!

I've created a Golden Image that I am deploying via SCCM to our PXE computers. I have an answer file that is supposed to set everything to UK settings but they dont appear to be working. I have created a package that has my answer file in it and in the task sequence I have selected the package and entered the filename of unattend.xml The image deploys nicely to all our computers but it's all US and I dont live in the US, I live in the UK so need UK settings and I'm tearing my hair out now and very frustrated how everything Microsoft does is for the US only. *BUMP* At the moment I have no Windows/Software Updates being deployed via SCCM as I'm still looking for some recommendations on how best to go about doing it. I have a clean slate at the moment so now is the time for me to learn from all your mistakes and get it running perfectly! For example, if I create a software update group and assign all the Windows 8 related updates to it, will all the updates get installed or just the ones each random computer needs?
