  1. Anybody know how much Impero edlink (MDM) is? I'm just curious in case one of our schools may need an MDM in the future - I don't want to ask them for a quote unless I have to as I don't want to listen to any sales spiel as I don't want to buy it at this moment in time.
  2. That's what I've done in the past - as long as you know where the files are you can just set NTFS permissions and voila!
  3. You need some safety eye glasses to protect yourself from any small shards of glass and you either need to suck or blow the glass out - if you don't have anything to do this then you will need to purchase something. We use this air duster for this sort of thing: Metro Vacuum ED500 DataVac 500-Watt, 0.75-HP Electric Duster | Staples® You could try shaking it over a bin bag to catch any loose glass but I wouldn't recommend that option as you may damage the projector.
  4. Nothing new for 1703 as it's been like that from 1511 hasn't it? Home Users will get it pushed out via Windows Updates as and when Microsoft release it to them (assuming you already have Windows 10 installed that is) and volume licensing customers had it released to them at the beginning of the week via the VLSC. No guide needed for a Windows Update and if you need one for VLSC then I suggest you contact your tech support department for help/advice.
  5. LOL - did you not see the post the last person got who dug up an old post?!
  6. In my experience with HP Support the first thing they have always asked me to do is upgrade the firmware on whatever the device is from a Server to a Switch, they wont assist you any further until you've done so.
  7. As you have another one, definitely worth a try. When I first came across the orange coloured Sahara projectors we used to have here they did that and I thought they were the symtoms of it over heating but it turns out it wasnt and it was a worn out lamp causing the issue.
  8. Some projectors do that when the lamp needs changing - not sure if it's an LED or lamp projector as I've not seen one.
  9. Not on LGfL so i tried communiy.spiceworks.com and it does not work. However, http://communiy.spiceworks.com does work.
  10. What's the warranty like (how long and what's the support like)? Do they play well together with HP switches and VLANs?
  11. Both ourselves and Impero Support have been through ALL the groups to ensure it's turned off and it's still being displayed! There should be a feature disable section on the server software to completely remove this silly blumming thing.
  12. So far, so good! It might have taken 2 days and multiple installation/unstallation on the server to get Impero to actually install properly and work, but today (after upgrading all the student machines over the half-term), touch-wood we've had no reported issues! Now, if we could only get rid of that silly Join Pin Group button on all the desktops then all would be rosey!
  13. We have an Acceptable Use Agreement that staff have to sign when we hand out equipment like laptops to them, we put on the laptops asset tag, make, model and serial number and they sign one place to accept the Acceptable Use Agreement and another part saying any equipment listed must be returned in the same condition as it was issued to them when they leave the Academy.
  14. I guess that's worth a try as if you have ever contacted HP Support it's the first thing they ask you to do.
  15. How long can you not ping them for - is it a few seconds, minutes or longer?
  16. For that sort of thing we go with the Fujitsu one every time. They're not cheap but you get what you pay for! The ones we have are duplex and scan both side of a page at the same time and are very, very, very fast! You just load the document in the feeder and within seconds it's on your screen. Great bits of kit.
  17. It's only happening on 78 new computers we've just got. We have older and newer PCs that this works on, there's just something with these ones that it's not happy with.
  18. Upgrade your OS to Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 8.1u1 or 10 as its automated in them.
  19. Did you buy all of the hard disks at the same time from the same supplier (like most of us do) if so then on average they will all have been thrown around a couriers van the same amount of time and had roughly the same wear and tear as each other so it doesnt surprise me that multiple disks are failing are approx the same time. I'm not sure what's recommended when buying disks you're going to RAID, should they all come from the same batch or should you order several from different people (ensuring they hold them in stock in their own warehouses as if they're all getting them from the same wholesaler then they're going to be from the same batch anyway) or should we even be buying the same size drives from a couple of different manufacturers so multiple disks in the future wont all be affected by any possible defects/issues that only appear in 3,4 or 5+ years time?
  20. As part of one of our Group Policies we push out a lock screen image (which is also displayed at the logon screen) but on some computers it's no longer showing up. As you can see it's displayed correctly on the left but not displayed at all on the one on the right. When I have done a gpresult HTML report it shows all GPOs are applying correctly including the one for the lock screen image yet it's not being displayed! It's not the end of the world but the computer suites look a lot nicer with our Academy logo all over the screens! Any ideas?
  21. We've had to roll back to a backup we made before we started the upgrade Nearly time to go home for the day no so we'll be back in touch with Impero Support in the morning where we'll try and get them to do the upgrade so they can see what happens as we've tried everything they've suggested so far to no avail.
  22. You're not the only mug @speckled we're an Impero customer too! Just upgrading to this version and now nothing works! They should change their logo/name to #SNAFU
  23. Must be 'User Error' then...
  24. When we replaced our former SCCM server we also started from scratch. I just turned off the old server, created a new one with the same IP address and also used the same site code and boundaries. As and when a new version or upgrade/update has come out for it I've done an in place upgrade as I know it was installed properly (by me) and so far everything is fine!
  25. You could try resetting the BIOS to see if that helps. Could be RAM also so try different RAM in the computer to see if that helps - I assume the graphics card shares the computers RAM which is why I suggested this.
