  1. I quite like that they tried to adapt their store to fit the local character rather than just sticking out like a sore thumb. It would be nice if more chains did that - saves every high street / town centre looking the same.
  2. Yes - It's really good fun. Lucy L's character is really good (although with unfortunate hair in later episodes) and the other tow (other than ash) eventually grow on you. Well worth finding some time to watch (if you enjoyed the movies - if you didn't you will likely not get on with the tv series)
  3. We just can;t log in to any of 365
  4. We can't log into it either (mail flaw through their filter is fine though)
  5. Start of year: IT introduction Mid-year: via Tutor. But they often just turn up here We use a generic password and require them to change it on first logon

I found blood and broken bones to be just about perfect for my abilities. I did fine the second expansion a bit of a slog rather than enjoyable and eventually gave up on it.
  7. We allow them access to their own email
  8. 48wpm: 1 error - didn't capitalise america (1st go - got a bit confused by the words moving up)

Bought total War: Warhammer I've spent about 4 days playing it (mostly as the dwarves but a bit as the empire). I just can't find it interesting - either I've picked the two races who have the dullest campaigns or perhaps I've just lost interest in this sort of game.

  11. We use remoteapp for that
  12. We have 5 5000VA apc (and one rebranded dell one) ones. we replace the batteries once (after 3-4 years) and the unit after 6-8 and have only had one issue (network card failing) in the last 10 years
  13. Have you recreated it is as a new virtual machine and then attached the vhdx back? You could always attach it to another vm (or mount it to your computer) just to get the stuff of of it while you reinstall a new one.
  14. Could you temporarily change your quota to soft and see if that fixes it? You might have to change the quota on the area it is staging the backup
  15. KMS or MAK?
  16. I was reading about something similar in azure last year. https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2016/05/24/another-117m-leaked-usernames-and-passwords-new-best-practices-azuread-and-msa-can-help/ No idea about costs but we seem to get a lot free from MS so maybe that will help? We enforce an 11 character complex password policy here for pupils in years 5 and above and all staff which causes us very few difficulties and doesn't seem to involve too much writing down that we've noticed. We haven't forced password changes on our users in four years now.
  17. I haven't followed it but this How to install Android apps on a Chromebook today - How-To - PC Advisor seems to be how I think it was supposed to work
  18. We're waiting on being able to run the android remotedesktop client on ours. fingered crossed it will be shortly (we don't have any of the three models it currently tuns on but I think there's a way to force it before its official my manager doesn't want us to do that)
  19. That looks fine. One thing to note with a virtualised DC is that you shouldn't let it obtain its time from the host if it has the PDC role. If you have that role on the VM then in hyper-V settings for that vm uncheck time synchronisation. I wouldn't put much else on a DC beyond what you've said - hyper-v isn't a supported role for a domain controller so you might come across some interesting problems. If you do radius authentication on your wifi then the DCs can look after that too. If you need a door controller just create a separate one if you can. Have sql, if you use it, running on another virtual server for databases and have them all connect back to it rather than multiple installs of it in different places. If you don't have the ram/disk/licences for multiple servers you could probably get away with an application server with them all on but I'd still keep sql separate. I run spiceworks on one of my virtual hosts without problem. If you want that other server to host multiple small vms then make it a hyper-v host and run the dc and the sophos/door server/spiceworks on vms on it (although then the dc wouldn't be physical - having all virtual dcs is supported but my manager is quite against it and quite happy to fund my physical domain controllers so I've not pursued it.)
  20. I did use my server 2016 kms key to activate it I still activate office with the kms server. Once the last of the win7 computers are gone we'll probably get rid of it and activate everything via AD. Looking at the guide though it's pretty much the same process but launched via an exe https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn385361(v=office.16).aspx
  21. I left my kms server doing office and win7 and had win10 activate against ad. There isn't really any migration for it - you just set it up on the server (i used a DC) and as long as the win10 machines are domain-joined they will be activated when they start up. It's really simple
  22. I only vaguely recall the setupcomplete.cmd thing from a course I went on a while back. I googled win10 and the name of the script and looking at MDT – Windows 10 Enable Bitlocker | Eddie Jackson it would seem the script works for win10 too (it's for mdt but the script part should work for both)
  23. With win7 I think you can use setupcomplete.cmd to run microsoft's bitlocker script at the end of the deployment but I've never done it. a quick bit of googling came back with https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd875527(v=ws.10).aspx for their script I imagine there's something similar (or a gpo) for win10
  24. If it's not a gen2 machine you can't have the boot device being over 2tb - I think if they're on their own controller the 64tb (vhdx) limit applies
  25. If its gen2 and gpt on server 2012 or later that shouldn't be an issue. What is your setup? (i think)
