I'm in the process of rolling out the Solus 3 agent to those machines on which we are going to use it. The machines already have SIMS on them, so I would expect the agent to install, recognise that the most recent version of SIMS is installed, and just sit there waiting for a new update. No such luck. The agent installs, then rolls back the working version of SIMS to Autumn 2012. I then have to manually deploy Spring 2013 to the machine, which sometimes installs, and sometimes tells me it isn't required. Have I missed a really obvious tick box somewhere?

SCCM is in my long term plan, so a quick question - can a machine be in more than one collection? For example I would want a collection for IWB workstations, with the IWB software and SIMS in particular, but I would also want the IWB machine to exist within, for example, a Science Dept collection, so it could receive the subject specific software.

Is it wrong to block non manager staffs work calls outside of hours?

If you like the phone get a SIM only contract, and switch SIMs when you are at home. -
I had this - it's because the microphone was disconnected when the computer was on. I was sent these instructions: Ensure mic is plugged in and switch on laptop. Check it can be recognised in windows / sound open mobile manager on desktop Click on 2nd tab from left (recorders) Double click hardware and click 2nd tab in window (audio) highlight device in line 1 &2 and click red remove button to delete from list. Click Green tick at bottom to confirm double click hardware again. Go to audio tab again Click green "add" button and select USB audio device from list. (This should add the device into position 1 & 2.) Click green tick at bottom to confirm Double click audio icon on left. Ensure in window that channel 1 is marked as in use and channel 2 is not in use. Delay should be -900ms. Compression is off. Click 2nd tab in window. Ensure sliders are both on 1% and 0% respectively Click button on right (Counter) Check audio is being received via level indicators on the sliders. Click green tick at bottom. Close manager and use. (if this does not work 1st time, you may need to reboot the machine and start again. Ensure mic is always plugged in though)

We had it happen on laptops that had lost the wireless connection. We've found the only stable way to make it work is to install the client agent.

I must say, he did make a really good speech. A few laughs at the beginning, and then he turned to my daughter and spoke to her, saying why he loved her. It was a bi-lingual wedding, as he is Dutch, and was speaking in English, but even the Dutch only speakers were in tears by the end.

My son-in-law made a point of mentioning the curious affliction his best man had, which forced him to make up embarrassing stories when in stressful situations. Cue the best man ripping up half his speech

One year our then Head of 6th Form was watching the local evening news to be told that our Sixth Form students sent best wishes to her on her retirement to run a donkey sanctuary. Needless to say our local news broadcaster now requires a password before believing any information from our school. The same head of year had the same surname as a local stately house, and came in one day to find the road sign to that stately house hanging over her office door.

I've just logged on to check with no problem.

Win7 x64 was released by RM last half term. I've spent the last half term making sure we have all the drivers in place, and re-building any packages that are available in 64bit (photoshop was the main one). We'll be rolling it out site wide over the summer.

You've just caused me to lose much of the weekend - I had no idea Settlers was on-line until you posted this. I'm clareq on there too.

V 12.3.13.1118 is the most up to date on their website. I've been waiting for the new version to fix an issue for over a year.

I have just had to remote into a teacher's computer because the school e-mail system wasn't working. That translates to "I don't know how to expand the today tab in Outlook" I clicked that little triangle and all was well. In between doing jobs like that I'm planning a new domain, with fully virtualised servers, migrating exchange and everything associated with that.

As our affected printers are called AR_Konica and Photo1, Photo2, Photo3 and Photo4 I'm unsure where to go from here. From what I've read in various forums the problem has been around for a number of years - we're on CS5, but I've read reports of it occurring with CS4.
-
Take a note of the version number of the old driver. It's greyed out because it was added as part of an RM driver pack. Make sure that the new driver you are adding to console has a higher version number - it should then take preference.

We have about 90 printers, differnet sections would be great. Hard coded will be fine, as long as it's well commented so we can edit as printers change/get moved around.

The kindle version of the book is 20p from amazon at the moment.

We use it too - does quite a good job.

We've had this problem for years, and I've resorted to setting up a dummy printer called "changeme" as the default printer to get round it. What was the issue with the printer name you used?

Keep calm and press CTRL ALT DEL

How long have you been working in IT? About 14 years Is this your first, second, third, etc career? I was an LSA when the children were small - fitted in well with school holidays etc, and moved into IT when they got older What other jobs / roles have you done previously? As I say, I was an LSA prior to this How many interviews did it take to get your first job in IT? Just the one - ICT Classroom asistant. I was promoted internally from there Have you ever felt that being female is a help or a hindrance to gaining a job in IT? Occasionally dealing with external helpdesks and being told "get your IT chap to look at it" is a bit annoying, but they soon back down when I tell them I'm the senior IT chap! If you were considering IT (or other engineering / programming careers) whilst at school what support did you receive? Computers were a glint in Mr Babbage's eye when I was at school!

I think you have to go into the users section of the toolkit and select the fields you want on a csv in the search box - put a tick next to username, whatever unique reference you use and e-mail address. Export the csv, edit the e-mail addresses and re-import it, as though you were adding new users. This will edit any existing users. We use it to correct network homedrive location.
