I know someone who knocked someone down on his way back to the test centre at the end of his test. The person walked in front of the car, giving him no time to brake. He sent the examiner to direct traffic and performed first aid until the ambulance arrived. He was a St John's Instructor, which helped. He passed.

Thanks localzuk - you pointed me in the right direction - I double checked the licence key that had been used by the commissioning company, and it was incorrect - I've used VAMT to change it to xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-MDVJX, and they activated immediately.

@uffy2000 If I need a second KMS host (and I'm not sure why I would) why did the first eight activate with no problems. @localzuk XXXXx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-B2G6R

We had the bare bones of our new domain commissioned last week - hyper-v hosts, a couple of DCs, WDS and KMS. Since the hand over I've been creating some servers in SC-VMM manager, using the same template for each - Server 2012 R2 Standard. The first eight activated via the KMS host with no problem, the last two I have done have failed to activate, with the error "The activation server reported that the key has hit the maximum unlock count". I am using the correct KMS key. Any ideas how I can activate these servers?

It isn't the first time they've said they are ending support for SOLUS2 though. I'll prepare for it, but won't be surprised if I'm still updating SIMS via SOLUS2 until it becomes web based

We too install both MS Office 2010 and Open Office, though now with Student Advantage and the Work at Home options offered to staff, there is no longer any reason people wouldn't have Office at home.

Anyone use SCCM for powering on and shutting down computers?
clareq replied to TheGoodGuy's topic in Enterprise Software
I plan on using SCCM for this, come our new domain. It's done through Power Management, found under Administration - Client Settings. -
+1 for Dave's - my son, who happily sat in lectures at Uni with a jar of jalapeno's and a fork, can only take a drop or two on his food.

I've been asked to find an external company to design a new website for our school, ideally based on Sharepoint, so we can take over the management of it once the initial design has been done. We can host it internally, so don't really have need of a hosting company. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Lenovo has a useful utility that remembers the proxy details for each wireless connection - brilliant for staff using laptops at home and at school. I think it's the communications utility.

Adding User Name To Print Jobs
clareq replied to Richie1972's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Papercut does offer that functionality - we use it here. Apparently Impero also offers it. -
I'm not sure a public forum is the place to post a long list of sites possibly not blocked in other schools...

User can't open excel spreadsheet locked by themselves?

I've seen something similar when preview is enabled on their folders. -
I like this idea - mind if I pinch it?

If you search on here there are a couple of other threads reporting such calls. I still laugh remembering my colleague taking such a call on our DDI line - What Operating System do I use? Vista 7 I think

I have had very little to do with it, other than dealing with a couple of staff who wanted help printing from it. My boss found it, and did the "due diligence". I'll mention your find to him on Monday, when he's back from BETT.

I am in the process of planning our new domain, and the creation of the images we plan to deploy. Would it be good practice to include the Solus 3 agent in our deployment image? We can then browse for agent computers, and add them to the SIMS workstation target group. Of course, if a machine is rebuilt with the same name we still need to find it in Solus 3, remove it and then re-add it, unless I'm missing something.

LanSchool - Students have full access to C:\ drive
clareq replied to googlemad's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I set the shared file folder to be in each students home drive - after all if it copies to each C drive it can just as easily copy to each N drive. -
