  1. 1963 was a good year
  2. We don't talk about YHGfL...
  3. Last time I saw this it was the printer that was faulty. Try loading it onto a different machine.
  4. I block google.co.uk/ig and google.com/ig
  5. robocopy - I believe it's in the Microsoft Resource Kit.
  6. You can't just edit the updating policy - this is Sophos we're talking about here things are not that simple :!: You would have to do what ChrisH says (and in future, give your sophos service a different password ) Well, we change all admin passwords regularly, and we always roll out the password change that way.
  7. Do you run the Sophos Mangement Console? Edit the updating policy there.
  8. Can you move one folder up the tree, and take ownership at that point? We get this occasionally, and that usually works. I find I have to be on the server though - I can't delete through a share in these cases.
  9. Robocopy was the charm, I think - thank you.
  10. I can't run any commandline script, as access to command is blocked for the student, as as the script has to run after they log on it needs to run under their permissions.
  11. I have a similar problem, if you don't mind me hijacking this thread. I need to run a vbs script at logon which replicates what I can do as an administrator with this bat file: xcopy "c:\itunefiles\*.*" "%userprofile%\*.*" /E /Y As it will be running at logon for all machines I would need to only run it if the folder c:\itunefiles exists. This will copy the preferences I've set for ITunes into the student profiles and hopefully allow ITunes to run in a locked down environment.
  12. Just put the shared folder on a server, the program can go on a workstation. The shared folder on our network at the moment is 8Mb
  13. I believe that SP2 for office 2003 on RMCC3 is available from RM on request. Microsoft updates are done via "Hotfixes" which are downloadable from RM's site. They produce one a month, generally, and patch the servers and provide packages for allocation to the workstations.
  14. Have you always had this problem, or is it recent? If it's recent, what's changed? Anything in the event log on the server or the machine?
  15. RM use logmein themselves, if they need remote access to your server. Strange that they would block it.
  16. I don't actively collect them, and any that find their way into school get passed onto a feeder school. I can do something much more productive with my time However, I do collect and pass on the Sainsbury sport equipment vouchers - at least 22 kids can use one football!

  19. You can't make the C drive dynamic - any other you can. Be careful though, I trached the last server I tried that on - tested the Diasaster recovery plan!
