Just realised that I never posted here! My friends call me Chip, also go by Wolf when I use my other nickname (aka WanderingWolf) I'm an IT tech down here somewhere in the delights of the SWGFL area :-) Actually leaving current job soon to take up another IT Job somewhere else in the south west (but not in education! yay!) Love a good challenge, love working with both PC and Mac's, decided edugeek is one of the most useful places on earth. and I love Cake and Dr Pepper :-)

I've come to the conclusion that this game is stupidly addictive, complete waste of time, but still fun to play (and I love the little jabs at breaking the fourth wall they make sometimes)

That's exactly what I'm trying to do with a bunch of Acer One netbooks that came with Windows 8, we reinstalled them the same way with the MDT/WDS deployment system that I've used with every other computer in this school, and now I can't get them to activate against our KMS and I really don't want to have to activate them with our MAK key like the Microsoft website suggests (...that is not a fix, that's a stupid way round the problem)

Thanks all, I will look into some of these and see what I can find out...I'm starting to wonder if it's got something to do with actually how we've got it starting up (We have RES Workspace Manager).

We've had almost exactly the same issue with the same make of printers, just a different model (the C220). the lads when printing from our DT laptops do their A3 work with textboxes and images from the internet, it goes completely screwy like what you've posted above. I believe we have now resolved the issue, I'm just trying to rack my brains on how we did it. (the stop gap was to make into a PDF and then print)

Firstly, sorry if this should be in a different area. Just wondering if anyone else has this issue with Papercut, we have it where it runs the pc client at login and runs it directly off our print server, we've not installed it on every machine. Every so often, there's not really a pattern that I can see, the client just stops working, so when you cursor over it in the system tray it disappears. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or know of a way of fixing it, short of installing the PC client on every machine. Many thanks in advance :-)

Hi there, been a lurker here on edugeek since it was suggested to me when I started at this job last academic year as it's my first school IT, I'm looking into a streaming media server for the school, to store and stream media across the school. Now avoiding all legal/copyright whatnot (not my area, that's up to the people who make the decisions, not the lowly IT Tech :-) ), I'm currently trying to find a media server software preferably open source that could be used for what we're after. If it was to be able to use AD for permissions and things, even better. I've done hunting and come up with nothing, so I'm appealing to the many users of the find island of Edugeek to help with any points in the right direction etc? thanks!
