  1. I have to say @JohnJackson has made some major improvements for us. Dan Robinson is always in contact with us about how LGFL can better provide for schools. We were on the verge of not renewing until Dan came and met us and informed us of some upcoming developments within LGFL last year. So far LGFL has delivered on everything we have wanted. Webscreen 3 for those that have seen it is a Major Major improvement -We Dont use USOs and therefore the announcement that it works with your local setup was just amazing news also.
  2. I make them sign a form absolving me of any responsibility should anything happen to their personal equipment. If they don’t want to sign the form - they can go elsewhere
  3. Nope and i would highly recommend against doing this. We let the updates download automatically but we choose when we want to do our updates.
  4. Really! Like all manufacturers provide free assistance which actually works.
  5. Within Office365 admin portal, go to domains i believe it is, and it should say if there a is onsite sync enabled, and when it was last synced, this would probably be the easiest way to check EDIT- dont do that, when you login to admin.microsoft.com, you can add an azure active directory tile to the homepage which will show if there are any directory synchronisations taking place, you can delve deeper and see the server name doing it if there is one.
  6. We had a hybrid solution, but no smtp relay, we had installed the edge role on a different server which did the smtp and was supported by o365 hybrid environment. We are now going to move solely to o365, we don’t want to renew a server which has served us for 9 years. So our previous external email system went from Exchange -> Smtp relay -> Recipient Now it is Exchange O365 Sorry if none of this is making sense! Had a few too many and its only 3:30 lol
  7. We had this same issue as you, in the end we ended up ditching the relay earlier than anticipated. The microsoft chap said it is not supported whatsoever!
  8. Hi _techie_, is outgoing mail going through an external smtp relay?
  9. Generally people pop up at our door for id Badges. I then complain to HR to find out who said person is. Wait a few days and then make the badge and hope HR have added details on SIMs for Salamander to do its thing. We are now in the process of building an internal on-boarding process on Sharepoint linking it to flow to do a whole raft of things. Ideally the prospective employee would be adding their details to this.
  10. Installing Fastrak on a till is quick and easy. You can request the files from BioStore. The reason why the tills are expensive is because they support them for 5 years or something like that and guarantee that the software works on the till. We did this 2 years ago so alot of things could have changed since then.
  11. From what i remember you don’t need it for students, and if you are licensed for staff you can get the students p1 licence by contacting your reseller. We never went down the road of blocking students in the end so i am not 100% if my info is correct
  12. I thought you need the P1 or P2 licence to make this happen?
  13. We are of similar times on much older machines too. On our newer machines, it is instant on the second logon. Initial logon is 2-3 minutes like @psydii
  14. +100 this! It took us nearly three weeks to fix something which i could have done in 10 mins as we had the correct ports and destination addresses. Whilst i completely understand that Atomwide shouldn’t compromise on security, some sort of level of control over firewall rules should be allowed to schools who are competent enough to do so.
  15. We used RDS but then stopped giving access as we are moving to OneDrive and Teams. All files are stored there.
  16. I “Think” Microsoft can still help retrieve the data, but don’t quote me on that
  17. Have you ‘allowed to authenticate’ against the rds server computer object? -just reread what you wrote and it works onsite so not sure this would work
  18. We did just this. We essentially started from scratch. Obviously OP cant do this as OP don’t have the luxury to wait and test. We use Office365 and have desktop and documents redirected to OneDrive
  19. We moved to BioStore 2 years ago and it was the best decision we made! Support is fantastic! Most (very rare) issues get resolved quickly if not instantly
  20. Teams has the functionality built in to it so might be worth checking your settings in the teams admin portal
  21. Applied timetable routine maybe? Thats all that comes into my brain
  22. We had the same problem, reimaged the machine and it went back to working normally. To be fair we didnt have time to troubleshoot
  23. We are with lgfl but thats another topic in itself. I was just amazed at the price the other chap said.
  24. Is that a managed service with filtering and other bolt ons? May i ask who it is? Can PM me if it is better
  25. We have it like you too @ITGURU but we have 5 doors serving as a trigger. Rather than just 1, we have 3 seperate buildings with a comms room in each so if a fibre/network went down in one location the others will still serve as redundancy.
