  1. I'm there on the Wednesday now as well, so will be there on all four days... hope my feet/back hold out!! I'll be on Impero's stand on Wednesday/Thursday, so pop over and say hi if you're passing...
  2. Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the members who attended yesterday, and to Epson for hosting us! It was a great day all round, got some really positive feedback, and I'm looking forward to arranging future meetings in the South! Thanks all!
  3. I'll be there on Thursday to Saturday, booked into a hotel just down the road (Crowne Plaza), and driving this year so just booked my car in to a car park that's between the hotel and Excel... really looking forward to it...
  4. Members have got until midday on Thursday to register for the meeting/trip to Epson's HQ in Hemel Hempstead on Monday... If you're not a member yet it's free to join, and the meetings are free to attend - http://www.anme.co.uk/join http://www.anme.co.uk/meetings/southern-meeting-01
  5. Hiya, Thanks :-) Just looked and it does support gateways, but done by server only, so may have to give that some thought, but I think it's gonna be the way to go... Rick
  6. I've not specifically disabled anything and it seems to work OK...
  7. No - I've always had automatic updates turned on (assuming you mean Impero's Automatic Updates?) and Patch works okay... I'd recommend contacting support as they'll probably just remote on and sort it, which will save time trying to work it out yourself...
  8. Good morning all! I know Chromebooks have been discussed here in the past, but I know things have changed since then (or so I'm led to believe)... There's a student at my school who needs to use a laptop in school, he's already got a Chromebook, so it seems logical to let him use that, linking it up with our terminal server for remote access internally and externally. I've seen RDP apps that are available, but none that specifically state they work with gateways. Does anyone know if any of the apps do work with Gateways, or if there's a better solution for this? Thanks, Rick
  9. Thank you! Good to see you there! Don't forget the next North West meeting, NW06 on 17th March... Time to get planning again already!
  10. Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the members and companies who come to the meeting yesterday! All the feedback has been amazing, which really means a lot! Photos are on our Facebook & Twitter (@TheANME) and will be on our website soon. Still plenty of spaces left for the first Southern Meeting / Trip to Epson's Headquarters on the 14th December, should be a great day! Association of Network Managers in Education ANME
  11. Not a problem, hopefully see you at the next one... Plenty of spaces left if anyone else is interested... open to all members, and all free...
  12. We don't use it for staff at my school, but I was a little intrigued too, so I asked and it sounds understandable to me... Personnel Officer is required if the customer wants InVentry to collect personnel checks from SIMS (DBS, right to work etc), most people want this so they can use InVentry to automatically notify people about DBS checks which are about to expire. A lesser permission can be given if the customer does not want InVentry to manage these checks but we obviously ask for permission which will allow all aspects of the software to work.
  13. We've got one place for Thursday's meeting available now due to one of the member's being two technicians down. Open to all members, free to join, free to attend. Members attending must register via the invitation from EventBrite - if you've not got your invitation any more, drop me an email and I'll send you a new one. Meeting 05 - Association of Network Managers in Education ANME
  14. All the places for NW05 have gone now, but there are still plenty available for the meeting at Epson's HQ on the 14th... All members are welcome, not just those in that area - I'm looking forward to seeing Epson's Solution Centre, so it should be a great day... All free for members as always! Southern Meeting 01 | Association of Network Managers in Education ANME
  15. Not yet - Epson will feature obviously lol, it's going to be quite informal though... Still places left if anyone else wants to register... invitations will be sent to all new members - all free - Join | Association of Network Managers in Education ANME
  16. Good stuff! I'm looking forward to it too
  17. Though if you're looking for an actual e-safety solution, AB Tutor isn't the one to go for - it's classroom management with very basic keyword monitoring...
  18. Wouldn't like to comment on that - if it was me I'd ask them to take pity on me for not realising, and ask for a price to buy the licences, hoping that they wouldn't just charge the normal rate as you've been leasing already... (If you don't ask, you don't get)
  19. I got my school site moved to Schudio (School Website Design | App | Wall | Web | VoiceSchool Website Design from Schudio, Lancashire) within weeks of seeing how good it is with the ANME site (Association of Network Managers in Education ANME)... They deal mainly with schools so accept PO, and their service has been great, migrating all the current content over in under 6 weeks in my case... Can't recommend them highly enough...
  20. I think you start saving in about the 4th year if perpetual licences are bought - though don't quote me on that... If you don't renew with leased licences you won't be able to use the software any more - never used it leased, but I'd assume as it knows how its licensed it'll just stop running...
  21. +1 for the Linx Tablets, I've had one for a while and it's a pretty decent piece of kit - especially for the price... Fujitsu have a new one coming out that I've just seen at their event this week - looks awesome and they're pricing it lower than the Surface, so I'd probably look at the Linx or the new Fujitsu one when it's out... (The ANME's still running the Member Referral Competition btw - got 2 Linx Tablets + Keyboards to win - Join | Association of Network Managers in Education ANME)
  22. Hi All, I've used Wasp for years, as it came with a barcode scanner we got years ago, but since I've updated to Windows 10 it's no longer compatible, and I can't get it running on another Windows 7 machine. Can anyone recommend some (ideally free) labelling software to do rolls of labels as opposed to A4 sheets. I've looked at Wasp again but they want $149 for it apparently! Not a chance! Thanks, Rick
  23. I'm working on it... Currently looking around Bristol or Bath for something for members closer to there, and somewhere in the Midlands too...
  24. Awesome, thanks for registering I'm looking forward to meeting everyone too!
