Hi. It sounds like you have a clear idea of what you want there, that's great OK. The actual code that shows the list of printers is L28 in quickadd.php. The list of printers comes from the $printers variable. This is defined at line 64 in index.php - it just gets a list of all the printers (function in Printer model file - but you shouldn't need to change this). But really, you probably don't need to change any of that as it is. As the printers are just an HTML list, you can use a bit of javascript to filter that list based on a search field (in a similar way to the table on the Printers page itself). I had a very quick look for a jQuery list filter, and found this tutorial - that might be a good place to start?

ccoronado: Thanks for your comments, much appreciated Having a search/filter for printers on the front page would definitely be a good idea, and is something I can look at adding soon. Thanks for your offer of contributing some extra features too - that's something the whole community can benefit from.

If you had lots, you could use a patch panel instead

The 2600 is a host-based printer and is not supported by the UPD. Using the proper drivers, it should work fine.

Yes, this is actually true. We've never had any problems with HP printer drivers at all. #nosarcasm

Hurrah! HP laptops are rubbish from my experience anyway, I will be glad to see the back of them

RM CC4 Anywhere or Vanilla (Windows Only) Network

I do see your point, and appreciate that. However, when it works, it does work rather well (in our experience) -
RM CC4 Anywhere or Vanilla (Windows Only) Network
webman replied to thomaspark's topic in Network and Classroom Management
If any of your third-party (or even Microsoft software that isn't Windows) goes wrong, what do you do? What happens? If something goes wrong with RM, we have: our own knowledge, RM knowledgebase, this community forum and the RM Communities as our ports of call - that works for us. Any additional software is going to introduce another layer of "stuff" that can produce problems and needs support on some level. -
RM CC4 Anywhere or Vanilla (Windows Only) Network

Managed in what way? An RM network managed by a local team of people is essentially the same as running a vanilla network. You just have some RM software to help accomplish certain tasks. -
Mixed feelings. I do enjoy certain aspects of it, but there are other parts I can quite happily do without. As such, I'm always on the lookout for new opportunities elsewhere

Is it? Oh. Didn't read the Wikipedia article fully/properly/at all (delete as appropriate)

The original binary joke only works because 10 (in binary) is 2 - 2 people. You'd have to change yours to 11

If you're using the phpMyAdmin that is provided by Plesk, then you shouldn't need to do any extra configuration or editing of files. Also, you don't seem to have the option for creating users in there. Plesk probably has a recommended way of creating users and databases from its own control panel, rather than through phpMyAdmin. From the screenshots, in phpMyAdmin, you don't have permission to create any databases or users - which is why the query is failing.
-
As it's Plesk, and likely a shared hosting environment, your actual database/user names might need to be prefixed with the main Plesk account name, or similar, "behind the scenes". Anyway, if you remove the blank database and user that you've created; you should be able to do this: In phpMyAdmin, go to create a new user. In there, should be a box called 'Database for user'. Click the option that says 'Create database with same name and grant all privileges'. When done, you should have a database and user that are named the same with proper permissions granted.

Open Source Content Management System - Open Source CMS - CMS PHP - CMS Made Simple I recently finished this website using it, has just about all the features you've asked for.

Horrible little things. A couple of years ago we suddenly had an army of these crawling around the kitchen floor and in the cupboard under the stairs, but never saw them flying. That took a LOT of powder to get rid of them.

We took a slightly alternative route (for 2010, but presumably 2011 is similar). Once we had the SolidWorks generated "image" (bunch of installation files), we just packaged that up with a batch file to install it. The batch file executed the EXE that the HTA would have done, and it also applies the required Win7 permissions. install.cmd @echo off pushd "%~dp0" start /wait sldim\sldIM.exe /adminclient /new /source ".\AdminDirector.xml" cacls "C:\SolidWorks Data" /E /C /T /G Everyone:F Package INI file [Package] Description=SolidWorks 2010 SP5 Version=1.0.0.0 OS=5.WS ExeFile=install.cmd

Woh-oh-ohh, very good
-
Thanks. It currently runs on Wolf CMS with bits of custom PHP code, but I'm hoping to update it over the summer, running on CMS Made Simple. It's expanding more than what I want the current system to cope with

WordPress is for blogs, Joomla is rubbish (IMO). I favour CMS Made Simple at the moment.

eclass: Sorry about that. It occurs because you have previously installed that consumable in a printer, and the database won't let you remove it with the current setup. To resolve this, run this query on the database from phpMyAdmin (or similar) and then try to delete the consumable again. ALTER TABLE `events` DROP FOREIGN KEY `events_ibfk_4`; ALTER TABLE `events` ADD FOREIGN KEY (`consumable_id`) REFERENCES `printmaster`.`consumables`(`id`) ON DELETE CASCADE ON UPDATE NO ACTION; (This also presumes your database is called 'printmaster') Hope that helps.
