    I'm leaving

Thanks for all the messages folks Nice try MK-2! Classroombookings will still be developed... I might just need some more help from people willing to test things further like LDAP and (later on) SIMS stuff Personal virtual machines will only go so far. The company I will be working at is fairly small, and mainly do brochure-style websites but also do some stuff for the NHS. There's a SaaS arm of the company as well.
  2. It's been a bit of a long process, but I've finally escaped the clutches of Education and got a new job! I will be leaving the school that I attended as a student for 5 years, and worked as an IT Technician for a further 8 years. From January, I will be working as a Web Developer in Newcastle There are numerous reasons for my decision to move on - no progression route, the school being unable to fully support the direction and area I want to focus on, the unrealistic salary, the demands, expectations, lack of common sense and forward-planning from staff... and so on. I feel this is the right move for me, and the right time to do it. But fear not! Edugeek won't be getting rid of me that easily (sorry to disappoint MK-2) as I'll definitely be sticking around

    Dell Servers

Our primary network servers are all PE 2950s. 5x Bare metal for the RM CC4 servers, and 3x XenServer hosts. They vary in RAM between 4 and 32GB, all have 10k SAS disks in RAID1 but are also attached to 2 SANs. We've never had any problems with them. As kmount said, they're great boxes. If all is in working order, you've got yourself a good deal
  4. So do yours. I guess it's a hotlinking thing (my first was attached, which is OK). Meh.
  5. I wonder who this one could be for... http://www.glassgiant.com/custom_keyboard/key.php?t=1320421051&l1=Initiate+Trolling&

  8. I nominate @nephilim: he could do with a new job
  9. It's definitely got to be GrumbleDook. Just think about it folks - have any of you seen GD and RoF in the same room together at the same time? I thought not!
  10. Hahaha. Maybe not then?

  17. Looking into my crystal ball, I see someone's reputation meter going back into the red for their surprise posting in this thread...
  18. Sorry to hear about your loss. Hope your friend's family and friends have all the support they need.
  19. I think there might be too many ands in certain places, making sentences longer than necessary. Split them up, and for some variety, use things like: "in addition to this...", "plus", "as well as X, I also did Y...", and "Thing A, which also included B, C and D".
  20. My formula was trial & error
  21. I thought only Smarties had the answer??
