  1. Ctorp, I'm liking your enthusiasm "Reorder point" for each consumable - this is something I plan to add in the future as I think it'd be a good thing. For obvious reasons - you need more stock of your popular models, and less of the single ACME PhotoSmartJet you have tucked away in an office. The inactive idea is good too - that should be really easy to do Here's a little tip if you need to decrease consumable stock without installing to a printer (e.g. forgot to log an install): click the button to add stock, but enter a negative value. This must take the stock level to 0 or above. E.g stock is 5, but you want it to read 3. Enter -2 in the quantity.
  2. Many happy returns Ric! Hope you're having a good day. I voted for 40 by the way; was I right?
  3. j17sparky: This is where things like Last.fm and (to some extent) Bandcamp.com can be rather useful. Nearly everything I've listened to for the past few years has been sent to Last.fm, and its recommendations are sometimes pretty good.
  4. It's Ctrl+C on our PE2950s. Can't remember if it has a disk format option though.
  5. What about installing Windows Server on the first disk, and once installed, it might detect the rest of them on their own?
  6. The RAID controller is presenting the disks to the operating system as a single 'virtual' disk. I'm not sure why 1200GB turned into 500GB with RAID0 (it is expected with other levels of RAID) though. Try removing the array, and just have the disks configured as single drives for the purpose of formatting them. Each drive should appear as its own disk in Windows once installed.
  7. Are the drives configured in any sort of RAID array? That sounds like the most likely explanation of the 500GB reported capacity.
  8. Where is your source of information for this statement? You can't just claim all RM networks are unreliable.
  9. I applied last year. They accepted my CV, but I failed to pass the gruelling online assessment. Long process, and potentially worth the shot though. Their advice: A friend who has a history with the BBC did say, however, that a lot of their friends are 'jumping ship' now. I think there are maybe sweeping changes internally across all departments, and with this move in particular, could be upsetting to many loyal employees.
  10. Thank her for her suggestion, but re-inforce that it's your garden, you like it, and intend to keep it the way it is.
  11. Hi OK, I think I might have what you want here. You need to edit two files. In views/consumables/index.php: And in consumables.php, line ~36: $sort = fCRUD::getSortColumn(array('consumables.name', 'consumables.qty', 'consumables.last_order')); That last one is the line that says which columns can be sorted on. I tested that quickly and it seems to remember the sort setting when I re-visit the consumables page. Give it a go The Flourish documentation is pretty good if you need to utilise the classes/functions for extending the project for your own needs - Documentation - Flourish.
  12. Hi Ctorp, thanks for your comments about the project - I'm pleased it's useful for you and you managed to add an extra column. Also, thanks for posting your solution to it - hopefully it will help others wanting to achieve a similar thing. Can you please describe the session problem you have in more detail? I'm not sure what exactly isn't working, or what you want to be able to do.
  13. Yards. I meant yards
  14. When I was a kid we had a Mini Metro that was nearly stolen. It was broken in to, started, and ended up abandoned no further than 100 yards down the side street where we lived at the time. It was the old grey-and-yellow Crook Lock that prevented them getting away.
  15. Doesn't TweetDeck support both?
  16. bossman: Meccano Schmano! I had none of that flimsy metal stuff with its silly nuts and bolts I used to love Lego. The sound they made when tipped out into a huge pile on the floor. The rummaging through the box for that one tiny last piece for the finishing touch. The near-OCD level of getting the bricks stacked "properly" when building walls. Ahhh childhood. This was one of my faves: LEGO 8280-1: Fire Engine | Brickset: LEGO set guide and database

  19. There are programs that have this functionality as a small feature within them - such as NetSupport or Impero; but are very costly for that one tiny feature. However, I'd like to offer two workarounds which may or may not be acceptable to that teacher. 1) Use a URL shortener such as bit.ly or goo.gl. Shorter URLs = less mistakes, easier to type. 2) Put URLs in a Word document on a shared area and then direct students to this so they can click on them.
  20. An internal router would be useful for complete separation of networks to allow full testing of your new servers and services without interference between the two networks. One interface will be connected to the current CC3 LAN segment and have an IP in the 192.168.5.11 - .8.250 range. The other interface will have a separate range (e.g. 172.16.0.1) that is also configured the same as your test server. On the router, configure the gateway to be 192.168.5.1. On your test network, configure the default gateway of client machines and the server to be 172.16.0.1 (the router interface on that subnet). A router can be as simple as IPCop/Linux running on an old workstation box with 2 NICs, or as mounters says, RRAS could do it.

    SSDs - which one?

It will pay to read some of the unbiased and in-depth info over on Anandtech: Storage - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News There are more to SSDs than just a bunch of chips in a hard disk housing.

  24. FN-GM: I personally don't think that is the case. As recently as this month, Adobe wrote about the future of Flash on their blog: Adobe continues to advance Flash. (Adobe Flash Platform Blog)
