We wouldn't be without ours and SMT are looking to do more with it. Originally, it was used as a glorified file repository but a couple of years ago, students doing paperless courses had to submit their work via the VLE and some of it was automatically marked. For next year we are looking at going almost completely paperless (yeah right!) and there is going to be a bigger push for more use of the VLE, or rather VLEs as we have three. One for the "normal" students, one for HE students and a new one which is going to be used as an online conference facilty.

As are Netherlands, Finland, Denmark, Iceland and several others. Albania are in and their performance was terrible during the first semi-final. I think the final result will be a close finish between Australia and Georgia.

The final explosion was cgi. One big thing that was missing was humour and quotable lines. The humour has been dropped off with each successive Max film, but it was still there in Thunderdome. None of the dialogue stuck in my mind from Fury Road, but I can quote huge sections of the others.

This was constructed maybe 5 years ago. Many people coming down Heath St towards Lee Bridge, and turn left into the A4040. Owing to the tightness of the turn, they spend ages going around the corner and so hold up the traffic. Almost nobody comes up Heath St from Lee Bridge and turns left back towards the A457 (the road they just came from). I think when they constructed this, they had the plans upside down; the turn left should be on the opposite corner. At the Dudley Rd/Winston Green Rd you can turn in all directions.

Like Pete, we follow the college departments and we hope they follow us. We also follow our feeder schools, the local emergency services, the local trains and buses, the local council and our MP. We didn't have to unfollow her after the recent election.

At home Opera. Actually I have Opera, Firefox, Chrome, and Konqueror installed and I use them in that order of frequency. At work Firefox, Chrome, Safari and IE - FF for our website (the rubbish CMS only really works in FF), Safari on the Mac (obviously) and IE for our MIS system (it only works in IE). The college computers have IE and Chrome installed on them and we default users to IE so that the MIS system works. Unfortunately this breaks much of the rest of the Internet and Moodle and we spend most of our time telling people to try the website in Chrome where it will probably work. When they spend money on Prezi Suitcase, we spent about a month showing teachers how to open the site in Chrome and then it was still 50/50 if it would work, depending on the number of people trying to access the site.

I thought you minced left over meat. That's what my mother used to do. I used to find the mincer fascinating and loved to turn the handle and feed the chucks of roast in, that Mom had cut off the bone. I remember it being a red Spong and I suspect it is still in the back of the cupboard. Must be well over 60 years old. Perhaps the oddest thing in this that I've always been vegetarian - even as a lad I didn't like the taste of meat. There were never any veggies left over in our house. (Nor gravy.)

Memory sticks seem to last forever. A couple of weeks ago I popped one in that I haven't used in 5 years, mainly to see what was on it. The files were just fine and it was interesting to see what I thought was important 5 years ago.

This sounds a bit like a Pie floater which, where I'm from, was a staple after a night on the turps. The picture in the wiki article is missing the big dollop of tomato sauce. It absolutely was washed down with Stonie Ginger Beer (as is mentioned).

My mother always makes her gravy with Bovril - much tastier than Bisto. On the other hand, I don't make gravy - well, as a vegetarian, I wouldn't would I?

I have my ticket booked for Friday afternoon. Finding a cinema in the Midlands showing it in 2D was very difficult. Thursday, most of them are showing it in 2D but Friday they've all switched to 3D at the higher price too. I don't think it will be anywhere near as good as the originals but it should be watchable. It will no doubt be like the aforementioned Death Race and Rollerball remakes - basically keeping the title and a smattering of the plot, but leaving out the philosophy behind the originals.
