  1. We have a two registry files in the Start Menu, Home and School for the proxy settings.
  2. Just checked a few things, works perfect now. Thanks!
  3. Thanks for that, now it does pin them as an Administrator but when I log on as staff (C Drive Restricted) it doesn't pin anything. I have tried placing the shortcut in a network share but still nothing. Do you know a way around? Thanks
  4. @ihaveaproblem Just started using your script for our users, works great! Its there a way to pin a URL to the Start Menu using it? Thanks
  5. Have you distributed it to the DP? If that doesn't work try creating a new one... I followed this and it worked for me... Customising Windows 7 deployments - part 1. Changing the keyboard layout using unattend.xml I also enabled the Aero theme by default using this (Section 2)... Windows 7 Aero Theme Not Enabled After Deployment I put them both in the same XML file, I didn't use the path it says either.
  6. This similar thread might help: EduGeek: 6 iPads 1 Apple TV
  7. PCLoginNow - I had to do this a while ago, tried a few others and they seemed to complicated. This is just a next, next, next bootable CD. Enables accounts too!
  8. Only one iPad will be able to mirror at any given time, but if you have one iPad (lets call it iPad A) being mirrored and another iPad (iPad B) presses mirror it will throw iPad A off and show iPad B.
  9. Hi all, We are in the process of testing VDI In-A-Box, we have just gotten some test Thin Clients from 10Zig which are pretty nice (1 Linux, 1 WES). Since receiving them I have been trying to get Kiosk Mode working, I believe I have done the correct thing by enabling the template we want to use for the IP Address *? Everything I try I keep getting the Citrix VDI In-A-Box Client Java login window, is there any other setting that I have to change? We are running Version 5.0.2 of VDI In-A-Box. Thanks.
  10. Hi All, What spec of server would be suitable for 60 clients to connect to VDI In-A-Box? We want to run Windows 7 for all users so 1.5GB minimum RAM for each connection?, want around a 20GB base image, we use HyperV for virtualisation. Any more info you need just ask, thanks!
  11. Thought it may of been, unfortunately we only use VD In A Box... I did try Google!
  12. Where can I find the lockdown tool?
  13. Hi All, I have just setup a VDI In A Box test machine and have it running nicely with clients connecting from browsers, I now want to test it on an old computer, e.g. I want an operating system that will boot straight into the Citrix machines, like a real thin client. Does anyone know anything that will help me active this? Thanks.
  14. Hi, I have successfully setup an Open Directory master (with the help of EduGeek!) and all is working nicely. But, there is a couple of problems that I have ran into... 1. I have set the homepage for Safari using Workgroup Manager but every time a user opens up the app the 'Welcome to Safari' page appears. Is there a way to stop this? 2. Can I set customised toolbars using Workgroup Manager, I would like to add a Home Button to the Safari toolbar. 3. We use Microsoft TMG for web filtering and this requires authentication, I have set this proxy in Workgroup Manager and when the user logs on to one of the Macs they get asked for proxy authentication. They put there username in and ok it, but when they open Safari nothing loads? Thanks for all your help lately!
  15. Hi, It was already bound to the AD domain before I setup the OD master, am I right in saying that it should be the same as the AD domain as now it is using the Mac server name in for the LDAP and Kerberos and it does work... Thanks!
  16. Just an update, as I was doing this for testing in a VM I only gave it a single core, I added another one and tried again and it worked perfectly! Thanks for your help.
  17. Hi, thanks for that. Is there any reason that it doesn't do it automatically? Also could you help me with my other question, about the Kerberos Realm and LDAP Search Base? Really appreciate your help!
  18. Just one quick question, when Im setting up to be the Open Directory master do I change the Kerberos Realm to MYWINDOWSDOMAIN.local rather then SVR-MAC01.local? And do I change the LDAP Search Base to dc=mywindowsdomain,dc=local rather then dc=svr-mac01,dc=local? Thanks. EDIT: I just tried this both ways and each time I get a spinning wheel at the bottom saying 'Creating Open Directory master' (see picture). If I force close out of server admin because of the spinning wheel it does not create the 'diradmin' account, any help would be much appreciated!
  19. Hi, I have been a Mac user for years now but have never touched Mac server before and we have just got a Mac Mini server to accompany some new iMacs. The stage I am at so far with the server is, I've plugged it in, clicked next a couple of times, got to the desktop, updated it. Where do I go from here to create a Magic Triangle setup? Thanks for the help!
  20. Hi everyone, Is there a way to enable the messenger service in Windows 7? I know that it hasn't been in Windows since Vista bu I need it for PCounter... Can anyone shed some light on the situation? Thanks.
  21. Im in the same situation, did you find anything?
  22. Shouldnt be, Im currently using Group Policy shortcuts for my Start Menu though.
  23. Hi, Basically we have one site that is blocked by our LA but we have a bypass for ISA... Hard to explain. As we use the TMG server for the curriculum network this site is blocked by the LA, can TMG pass requests to this site to ISA and deliver the site to the client? Or is that asking to much... Thanks in advance.
  24. Heres the V2 and the V1 for 7 and XP, both have blanked Start Menus. Mandatory.zip
  25. I have updated the download link to include the registry file, just re-download it and it should be there. Some things to note with the .reg file: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\iTALC Solutions\iTALC\Paths] "GlobalConfiguration"="Z:\\iTALC\\Configuration Files\\GlobalConfig.xml" - GlobalConfig is where iTALC saves the computers "PersonalConfiguration"="$APPDATA\\PersonalConfig.xml" - Should be fine like this, just sets the user preferences "SnapshotDirectory"="Z:\\iTALC\\Snapshots\\" - Where the snapshots are saved to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\iTALC Solutions\iTALC\Service] "Arguments"="" - should be left alone "Autostart"="1" - change to 0 if you do not want the service to start automatically "HideTrayIcon"="0" - change to 1 to hide the tray icon Most other things are pretty obvious once you open up the .reg file, this file uses authentication from active directory e.g. when you open the application it will ask you to log in using your credentials. If you want to use key authentication change the settings using the management console and the go into [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE] in regedit and export 'iTALC Solutions'. This will create a .reg like the one I have sent you.
