  1. Sounds good, Almost make up for being in for a few days over christmas.
  2. Don't know if it helps, but a few of my friends, only 20 Year old. Have got Volkswagen Lupo or a Seat Arosa, not bad looking cars, Pretty Nippy, and best of all they're cheap, both to buy and to insure. Hope it helps.
  3. yes, saving us a job as a techy, And the app runs on the mac server and from there you can point it to the right directory. All the student/staff have to do is select the data they went drag over the share button and it is automatically sent to the mac server and goes to the designated directory. Cheers
  4. Yes, it works really well, and the speed of which is transfers is excellent. Ive also noticed staff sharing data between each other using the same app and then backing up one ipad rather than all of them at once. Cheers
  5. I've just started using a piece of software called InstaShare, Its ios and mac only at the moment while they work on a Windows version. Which allows the user of the ipad to choose which videos/images are sent to the mac for back up. It seems to be working well at the moment. Will keep you posted.
  6. Dropbox is brilliant don't get me wrong but the time it took to upload the videos to dropbox and then sync to the computer/download from the website takes a while on our network, and our dropbox is limited to 2.5gb. Also i find that this way the members of staff or students can do the downloading and download the specific videos that they want. Plus to bypass the 50 video/image download, download the first 50 then delete them off the ipad and it will allow you to download the rest. Hopefully configurator will release an update which includes this feature and also to disable passcode lock. Cheers
  7. I had problems with doing this yesterday as apple configurator won't let you take the videos off. I found that SimplTransfer worked pretty well. Install the app, browse to the ip shown and can download up to 50 videos/images per device on the free version. Unlimited on full. Hope that helps.
  8. Another vote for CloudOn. It's a great app and syncs up nicely with GoogleDrive, Dropbox and Boxee. So your files are always saved in the cloud. And best thing Its totally FREE!
  9. Anybody able to help on this, Tried running the import as normal but keeps failing, saying Failed please contact support if problem persisits. I then found an error file. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix? Cheers
  10. this suprisingly never crossed my mind, God this working through summer thing is hurting my head. Just tested it, it keeps the password saved each time, So i guess its going to have to come down to classroom management unless someone knows something we don't, Cheers.
  11. Hey jumping on this thread abit late, But when you enter the pin on the ipad is it everytime the ipad wants to connect to apple tv or does it remember the code? Just interested to know how other people do this as we have just got a full class set of ipads and 6 apple tvs. Cheers.
  12. We have just been delivered 35 iPad's for a class set in our school, along with 5 apple TV's and a Mac Mini Server. But as soon as we connected the apple tv to a projector and two ipads to the network we realised that there was a problem, how do you manage which ipad is displayed on screen if we are using a class set. For example if a teacher was using the ipad on screen for a lesson and the class figure out how to mirror the ipad, in turn taking over the projector with there screen. Is there an app or a way of stopping children from doing this until a password is entered? or is it a case of disabling airplay with a configuration utility. Hope to hear peoples input as soon as. Thanks
  13. What projectors do you have and at what cost?
  14. Hey thanks for the reply, the only reason we wouldnt be using our timetabling application, is because each of the students would need to be able to change there timetable, as sometimes these are not updated on our system as it may only be a temporary course, i will have a look into javascript and html5 and see what i can do with it thanks for the advice.
  15. Thanks for the replys however, with web apps and jquery mobile is it possible for the student to create a timetable of there own and be able to save it to there device? for example taking away the paper based school planners that our students get and try and go green.
