Hi, Just wondered if the Schoolcomms people could either comment on these, or pass them on to the relevant people. 1) Are there any plans for scheduled import instead of a user of sufficiently high level having to log in daily and run the import manually - it does seem to be an ancient approach to data synchronisation. Our Year/Faculty PAs will only have "Send email" privileges when we release Schoolcomms to them. I'm the multi-user administrator and run the import before I send any message, but once I hand over to the PAs they won't be able to do this. 2) Are there any plans for additional $variables in messages - $ParentSalutation would be the first I'd look for, and again seems a logical development that I'm surprised hasn't come yet. 3) Probably less-used and less-popular option, but could users of a sufficiently high-level create messages but send them 'on behalf of' another user, or set the reply-to address of a given message. Say if a PA is absent and their line-manager or myself need to send an email from their faculty/department, but replies need to come back to that PA. Their own account is set to reply-to themselves, but my emails (multi-user administrator) come to me. Peter

Don't know if this has already been talked about, we have two networks within our school one curriculum one admin, on the admin network all schoolcomms packages have a dialog box saying new version needs to be installed, but when we go to install the new version it says there is an error and needs to be changed to the basic package, can anyone help on this really getting to me, with admin staff ringing up. Many regards James

Hi i am looking for any good/bad information anyone has on Schoolcomms we are currently using on of their competitors but they are fantastic and i looking to try and find a cheaper option any help would be incredible Thanks

We email out Individual Reports via Schoolcomms. Have done this for years. Last week I had 20+ parents who couldn't open the report. Never had one complain before. Most were trying to open it on their phones, and most of those were iPhones, but several were android, and several were failing on grown-up devices too. Testing it, they fail on my android phone, and I have xml reports from last year and they fail for me too now, so I'm thinking this isn't one of the billion SIMS upgrades changing the file format... So that leaves me wondering: Has something changed on phone OS's so that they won't go to Microsoft links to resolve the tags in the XML? Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe they never worked, I just imagined it, and no one complained? I feel like I've entered The Twilight Zone. Also, why on earth have SIMS not moved to storing PDFs? Or, if they don't, why on earth does Schoolcomms not convert to PDF on the fly when it sends out the files? We have the next year group to send this week and if that fails as much we'll have to ditch Schoolcomms. Is the SIMS parentapp worth investing in?

Hi I've been asked to look into this situation.... We have three external music teachers who come into the school for music lessons. We use lesson monitor for our registers, and have recently purchase Schoolcomms. The trouble we have is that singing lessons start and finish throughout the day during normal timetable curriculum lessons. The staff member of the curriculum lesson will put an "N" for the absent child. During am and pm registration this N is then sent home via Schoolcomms. What can we do? We don't particularly want to allow an external person access to sims?

This coming Spring we’ll be rolling out our new Online Reporting product, which will be fully integrated with both SIMS and our existing Messaging and Payments products. The Online Reporting product will draw attendance, behaviour, achievement, curriculum timetables, school and personal details from SIMS automatically and make it all available to parents, students and staff on their smartphone or on web. With real time notifications to inform parents when there is something new to look at and keep engagement high. And we are designing it such that a school can be up and running in about an hour, probably more like 15minutes for schools who already use our other products. We have now started development and if people are interested we would like over the next few months to give you an insight into our development process, show you our designs and get your feedback on how to make the product the best it can be. Anybody able to help on this, Tried running the import as normal but keeps failing, saying Failed please contact support if problem persisits. I then found an error file. Anybody have any ideas on how to fix? Cheers

We currently have Schoolcomms for parent/student/staff communication - we also have Groupcall Emerge for taking registers on iPads & iPhones. We are considering movng from Schoolcomms to Groupcall Messenger - has anyone made this move ( or the other way ) and what if any are the fundamental pitfalls or gains. Messenger will work out a lot cheaper for us and we get a Emerge discount for using Messenger.

Hi there, We are currently trying to stream Schoolcomms using xenapp 6. Everytime we try to launch it, we get a message stating we need .Net framework 4.0.30319 or later. I have downloaded and installed .net 4 manually, rather that using Windows Updates, and yet I still get this error. Has anyone has this problem and been able to resolve it?? Thanks
