  1. Hi, We installed SSD`s into one of the ICT suites, so space is sometimes limited (when office SP`s are rolled out etc). Is there a way that students can load a vdi image from a share? can multiple students load at the same time? Thanks
  2. I didn't get time to try, but I dont think you can. I've left the US iso downloading and will reinstall in the morning if they haven't updated RSAT. Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 10 Technical Preview is available only in United States English (en-US) for this release.
  3. Make sure you grab the en-US iso of enterprise is you plan on Installing RSAT. It doesn't work on the UK version !!!!!
  4. make it easy for them with LDAP login or even better, single sign on so they dont need to re-enter any usernames and passwords.
  5. This is now sorted. After the migration, to save time getting external DNS records changed we changed the IP of the new mail server to the IP of the old mail server. For whatever reason the old IP just stopped accepting mail on port 25. We changed the IP back to the original IP and asked county to change the MX records. All mail is now coming through on all domains! What a nightmare. Maybe that original IP is written in the domain structure somewhere that you cant get to with the ECP.. Thanks for the help.
  6. Hi howartp, It must be county. The thing is our normal mail is working perfectly. Its just these accepted domains that have stopped working. All the tests from exchangeconnectivity are passing. County are saying that the mail is passing fine all the way through their servers but is getting rejected by our mail server.

  8. Hi FN-GM, There wasn't a policy set-up, but for the staff that wanted these additional (shorter!) alias`s we added them manually. I have setup a policy wit the accepted domains, but am i right in thinking this just adds the additional email addresses to user accounts? or is it needed? Thanks Tim
  9. Hi, We have two additional domains along side our normal @worcstershire.worcs.sch.uk email addresses. WCC control the DNS for these and have pointed the MX record to the IP of our mail server. Everything was working perfectly with exchange 2007, but since we have migrated to exchange 2013 none of the additional accepted domains are working externally. I have double check with WCC and they have checked the MX record still points to the correct IP. They are getting "Connection Timed Out" and we are getting emails bounced back when sent from external. I have checked that the accepted domains migrated across and have even tried recreating them in the ECP. Can anyone please shed any light onto this or point us in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

  11. Morning Sukh, I read this on technet and was about to work through it before i saw your reply.... Exchange 2013, multiple IIS OWA sites with different authentication They are saying that as I did before I should copy the OWA folders etc. Before I start, are you hinting that maybe I don't have to do all this and can get the same result from setting up authentication correctly? Thanks again
  12. Hi, Thanks for the reply, this resulted in a "windows authentication pop up" when external with exchange 2007. Is this different for 2013? Thanks again Tim
  13. Hi, With Ex2007 I set it up so that when using the external webmail address "Form Based" authentication means they had to enter U/P to login, but when in school I created a shortcut that would log them in automatically using "Windows Auth" I did this by in IIS setting up a duplicate copy of default website/webmail and switched it to port 81 and then set this up to login with windows auth. This probably wasnt the correct way to do this but it worked. The students would click a link on the desktop for "http://mail:81/owa" and they would get logged straight in. What is the correct suggested method for ex2013 please? webmail.xxxxxxx.worcs.sch.uk - Form based mail shortcut internally - windows auth Thanks in advance
  14. We used split DNS and as suggested above setup everything with the external address.
  15. Hi all, Im hoping this is really easy!!!!!! email server: email.XXXXX.worcs.sch.uk external address: webmail.XXXXX.worcs.sch.uk internal self signed SSL: email.XXXXX.local external SSL: webmail.XXXXX.worcs.sch.uk We have upgraded from 2007 > 2013 exchange. We have migrated a couple of test mailboxes over and I am having trouble with the certificates. When I try and connect outlook on domain joined machines, I get an SSL warning that the name on the cert is incorrect.. The problem appears to be that outlook is trying to connect to our external address: webmail.XXXXXX.worcs.sch.uk Can anyone please advice how we change how outlook connects? Im guessing outlook should be connecting to "email.XXXXX.local" when on domain joined PCs? Thanks in advance!!!!
  16. Hi, Can anyone please help/advise. We are moving from a flat network to VLANed. Our normal range IP is 10.50.*.* We have now set-up all our additional VLANs for cameras, BYOD, doors, Printers, etc on the 192.168.0/1/2/3.* range. This is all working well. ACLs are in place etc. I am now a little confused on how we will move all our PCs/Servers from the default VLAN to the "SCHOOL NETWORK" Vlan? Obviously I do not want to chnage IPs on devices. But im confused on th fastest way to do this. What would the original switches IPs be?. They are currently on the 10.50.*.* range. Would we need to set-up a management VLAN? Could this be done one one day where staff aren't in? Or is this going to have to involve us walking around with COM/Cat5 cables to each switch? Thanks in advance!
  17. Tanks both, They are definetly in need of a BIOS update. They are on A09>A11 I think A21 is out now. This was going to be my next move but didnt think this would be it as the options are there in the menu! At least i know its possible! Thanks again
  18. Hi, We have recently started supporting a primary school woth Dell 755`s They have "Intel 82566DM-2 Gigabit Network Connection" onboard LAN. I have set up the BIOS to WOL and have enabled the magic packet tick on the network card but I cant get them to Wake? Previously on our lenovos we had to install the full Intel driver that popped many more options in the card properties, but there doesn't seem to be a driver from intel? Has anyone please had success?
  19. Hi all, We went to Bromcom MIS before the Easter holiday. I can confirm that you can do the report building on a chromebook. You only need the print client to print from a windows machine running IE. We are slowly getting everything in order and using more and more of the features. I can give you all an honest picture a little later on if you like. I can say that the support is great compared to the previous MIS. All I can say is make sure that your current data is in order before your migration. Make sure that all any fields that you may never have used in the old MIS are input as they may well be used in the new. e.g. we didn't have email addresses as the old MIS system didn't use them.. many more... All in all a good experience
  20. Does anyone please have a cost yet? We have 3 tills on XP Pro and a office PC on XP Pro.
  21. Also, we used to use delprof2, it worked well when we needed to bulk clear profiles. We now use the GP setting to delete profiles older than x days.
  22. 1) what version IE? 2) was ie installed with the customisation tool? as settings in there override AD 3) Have you checked the result of group policy? 4) maybe use GPP to directly set the proxy with registry changes?
  23. Thanks @GraemeBC I did ask for help with this, but I was advised to test using the SMTP tool. Once working in the test tool, then transfer the details into Bromcom. I don't think that this is a Bromcom issue, but if your support guys have the knowledge in setting up receivers in exchange 2007, then that would be great? Thanks Tim
  24. Hi, We have new MIS system, Bromcom MIS, that has the function to send SMTP emails.. eg.. automatically sending reports to staff at certain dates/times... I have tried to follow M$ documentation and also follow various guides but I cant get anywhere! I have been testing with various SMTP test tools. For testing i have opened the "receive mail from servers" to IPs from 0.0.0 - 255.255.255.255 and set the authentication to TLS and the permissions groups to anonymous. From within the network this is working fine. Our mail comes via the council from a separate mail servers/system. Do you think that i might need them to add a receive connector or similar aswell? Can anyone please help? Thanks in advance!
