Hi, We support a small primary with 2 low powered 2003 server, one being the DC. They are using office 365 and we would like to sync the accounts/passwords with office 365. Does anyone please know if 2003 would be enough for this task? Or is 2008 the lowest Or is there another way around this? All we need really is the passwords synced because of the low staff numbers Many thanks

I believe we are in the same situation as sparkeh. We have multiple hosts (four) that are not part of a cluster. We have all the VMs hosted locally on the hosts as we don't have a SAN. I don't think we can get caught in the chicken/egg trap. IF ever one of the hosts was to go down the other would pick up the authentications. If both hosts that were hosting each DCs we to go down we could them bring it back on one of the other remaining two. I know it is not the idea setup. But we cant afford a SAN, and we are using our underpowered Dell Poweredge rack servers. localzuk - The hosts are domain members, but in that situation of double host failure wouldn't we be able to login locally and start the VMs?? I could easily rebuild DC3 onto a physical server as we have the capacity. What do you think please?

Why does hyper-v require a physical DC please!! We have DC1 and DC2 both virtualized on different 2012 hosts. No problems in 2 years. Or have I been dodging the bullet!!!!!!

We use Regent digital. They've been really good. They won the bid process out of 5 suppliers. We have 17 x 2526 MFDs and 6 photocopiers. 4 hour call out etc. Follow me printing with card release. Been perfect so far.

Well done You did it in really good time. Installing CU2 took about 2 hours alone here! For any staff that complained that the unread emails weren't as noticeable in outlook 2013 I changed them to red. REALLY clear then. (Right click > Settings > conditional formatting > unread email > choose red and larger font)

Hi, As per topic. I know it isn't officially supported but googling seems to suggest it is possible.? We have DPM cals but don't use it. I know there is also a solution using firestreamer but that's extra $$$$$$ Basically we have a 2008r2 server connected to a 5tb MD3000 array. I have usb3 3tb drives connected and just want to backup static files. Eg student files, staff files, profiles, etc... I've tried Backup Exec which fails miserably. (Unexpected Errors), BackupAssist which is cheap but its backups are up soooooo slowly to USB, nearly 12 x slower than BE. Its faster for us to backup to an offsite NAS. The support is dreadful. You ask a question wait about a day and get a single silly response back. You respond straight away saying, no I've checked that and have to wait another day! Any suggestions please?

This might be handy to run before you start.... Powershell to create a backup to XML or all your CAS configurations settings, I think its made for 2010 but we ran it on our 2007 box and it gave us a backup for reference: Script ExportCASConfig.ps1

Hi, Just looking at setting our new corporate artwork as the logon background. We have some monitors set to 1920x1080 resolution. I've found that there doesn't seem to any 16:9 resolutions supported out of the box!! Hi, I am trialling BackupAssist to replace BE. Ive tested a few backup jobs and it is soooo sllllloooooww!! One job has been running for 10hours now and it is 137gig into a 700gig backup. It is on our server connected to a MD300 array and backing up to an external USB drive connected via USB3./ It runs faster when we backup to an external NAS!! Has anyone found it fast?

We have around 22 procurve switches all connected via gig fiber and on gig backbone. All APs will be connected on gig connections. Do you think we are going to fail without a 10gib backbone? We have no funding for this!!!

Might be all wrong with the below but.... If you buy AC phase 1, then you will be buying new hardware for when phase 2 is out I believe.?????? Also Phase 1 is SISO where as phase 2 mimo? There is a huge price difference in hardware at the moment. Were looking at new a system. Do you not think AC would be overkill? If using for web browsing your feed would be maxed out straight away by just a few points. Would say 200 connected AC devices be running at about 5% of their potential?
