I'm in a similar boat. I run W10 enterprise and the rest of my domain is LTSB with classic shell. I truly despise the start menu in windows 10, I've just spent 2 hours trying to sort mine out on my own pc. I can't pin anything to it, its not using the layout I asked it to in group policy anymore. I know we need to use the w10 start menu eventually but I havent got time to do this on every rebuild, I know lots of people use it successfully.

Yeah the Java thing popped up when I first logged asking me to allow it through our FW, would prefer a HTML5 client like Eclipse... oh wait. My main issue is with the IDEX smoothwall client timing out so I might have to stick the librarians machine on a different proxy so it doesn't. SW have looked at it loads of times and it still times out.

Just switched over to Access IT today, they got the data from Eclipse directly as I gave them a username to do it for me. The client on the librarian machine is easy enough and very quick. Wonde does the syncing and O365 for the student logons. We will start saying money on year 3.. going to miss that hold music at Microlib.

Almost there, working fien in school and just waiting for the Azure portal to cacth up as its saying Forbidden: This corporate app can't be accessed. You are not authorized to access this application. I have OWA and RDP workign through the proxy so it should just work too.

Hi, I'm revisiting HAP after moving away a couple of years ago.. Does it now work on IIS10? I've followed the instructions but am am not getting any images on the loading screen and cant get anywhere. Probably something very simple.

Hi, Does anyone have the installation docs for this awesome piece of software? I've got it running on a ridiculously old vm server and am wanting to migrate it to a new 2016 install over summer. Its ran perfectly for years and would hate to lose it.

I still use it on 300+ machines. I'm old school and it works perfectly for me.

So how would this apply to boarding schools who have overseas pupils. We need to record their visa information and used the information in the past for analasys of where our pupils come from and why they are chosing our school.

Morning, I'm probably missing something really obvious but when a student is trying to book on an event on the ucas exhibitions page its throwing up an error 'SCRIPT438: Object doesn't support property or method 'SEClick'' whereas the staff are allowed to get through. When you click it a little box shows up for staff and they get taken through to the next page. I'm trying to work out if its a GP or a Smoothwall issue. Theres nothing blocked on the SW as far as i can see. Its probably something staring me in the face, has anyone seen this before?

We use SEC-1. Really good company and local to us to we were happy to use them They did say the CE+ is different from last year so instead of 3 base machines they want 13 so its a 3 day visit this year. ££££ is tight but its worth it.

According to ISBA with the backing of Farrar and Co for legal advise Independant schools 'probably' wont need a DPO.. but rather have a Privacy Officer or simialr named position. Extract from their document... The ICO acknowledges (as it did at the ISBA Cyber Security conference in October 2017) that for independent schools this position is by no means certain. Neither the GDPR wording nor the current EU working party guidance discloses a clear basis to suppose that most independent schools would be intended to be caught by the strict requirement. This is contrast to the much clearer position with maintained schools, because all public authorities do indeed require a DPO. It may be that a single individual DPO will affix to the local authority as a whole rather than to each school, according them a degree of independence (as well as being cheaper of course, allowing oversight of numerous maintained schools): but this will depend on levels of access and capacity to deal with issues. As set out below, there may be lessons to learn for independent schools in observing what works best Any other Independant schools in a similar position?

Hi, I'm swimming under the GDPR wave as I dont seem to be getting much help but hey ho. I've currrently Updated our Privacy policy inclusing age specific ones Renewed all consent for photos Updated and distributed new AUP policies for staff and pupisl (age specific again) Created new policies including Data Retention, SAR, Data Breach - still need to do a data controller one. Created a data control map inclusing SIMS premisisons Enabled MFA and Bitlocker for data protection. Using GDPRis to record suppliers I'm struggling with the data audit, I know where everything is and my data control map shows the flow of data but how are you guys recording this? Is it server by server? Also consent, what other consent are you collecting.. I've got the photo consent and AUP for computers. Should I be collecting consent for “special category” personal data aswell. I got this from our Bursars website (This cannot be covered by “legitimate interests”, nor the parent contract: it might be lawful if the school is acting under a statutory right or obligation, including in connection with employment or some other duty of care; or if urgent e.g. medical grounds exist; or if it is covered under one of the special conditions of the Data Protection Bill concerning safeguarding or social care) I have done staff training but not the governors yet.. or appointed a DPO.. no one is looking at this so I want to outsource it. Anything else I'm missing? Really appreciate any help

Still find it funny they stick the install in the c:\users bit of windows. We've got a couple of pro units for testing and am hopign to change out Ruckus stuff for it over the summer. Just need to work out the guest portal facility as the Ruckus stuff took a bit of tweakign to get it working with SW. With our current system we have blocks of APS which we manage and we can allocate SSIDs to them whenever we like, couldnt see that facility in the Unifi stuff when you group the units unless I am missing something.

Hi, The Cambridge Essentials website is closing and I've had a teacher pop to see me adking if I can download all the content. They arent answering emails about it but there copywright statement does say Users may access, search, view, download and print the Products for personal or internal circulation within an organisation, solely for educational use, and provided that no trade mark, copyright or other proprietary notices contained in or appearing on such material are removed in whole or in part. But also goes on to say Registration entitles individuals (‘Individuals’) and institutions (‘Institutions’) to a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the Products either until the current QCA schemes of work and national curriculum programmes of study and teaching are superseded, or for the lifetime of the website, whichever is the shorter. What do you reckon, can we still use it even if the website dies? I cant see me being able to download it anayway as its individual files

TBH its not something I will use, I can see it being useful for multi site domain but we are only little.

I tried for weeks to get some older iPads added which I bought through Apple to the ASM with no luck. Thankfully I only have 20 of them.
