If it's been reset, won't it have picked up an IP from your DHCP server? Is it worth checking your DHCP leases? Stuart

It's just a passphrase. Sorry, I probably should have put in my original post that a lot of the time everything works, including the one in the above logs. We know the passphrase is correct.

So I got a shiny new Ruckus Unleashed installed last week and we are constantly getting connectivity issues with both Windows and Mac devices. We can't see a pattern at all. Below is a paste from the log. This is the same device. Hi all, I've just had a Ruckus Unleashed wireless network put in and there's a firmware update to do. It's a live network. Can anyone give me a ballpark of how long the network will be down if I do it? Obviously I'd like to do it outside of normal school hours, but I have an issue which a firmware update may fix so want to get it on. Thank you Stuart

They weren't in different security groups per year but are now. I've set up the advanced redirect based on group and will see how it goes. Thank you for your help. Stuart

The problem we have with doing that is that each year group is in a different folder on the server. Presumably the way you've got it either means everybody's My Documents from all years are lumped together in one folder, or you've got a different redirect policy for each year group? Or did I miss something?

In the properties of the user account, the "Home Folder" is set to connect "H" (not N as earlier stated) to "\\servername\student work$\Intake 12\evanek\My Documents", and then the redirect is "Basic - Redirect everyone's folder to the same location", and then the location is "Redirect to the user's home directory". That should be correct shouldn't it? Stuart

Got a weird one, and I'm not sure if this should be in the Windows forum or the server one. We have students who are getting their My Documents folder moved to a new folder called "My Documents" within their existing My Documents folder. The bigger problem is that this 'move' keeps happening and we now have a student who clicks on their N drive, then clicks in there on a My documents folder, then within there another folder called My Documents, until they've done that seven times until they see their work! What on earth is going on? The profile path is set correctly and we are yet to see any patterns as to when this occurs. Windows 7, Server 2012 (not R2). Any suggestions please? Thank you Stuart

I've just been to my son's prospective high school's open evening and they had a 3D printer, which they use with the students in their DT projects. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with 3D printers? Any recommendations, warnings, etc? Interestingly, their lead DT guy said that they can't use the 3D printer for their entire project as the exams boards don't like them yet, even though the student will have had to have designed everything in 3D themselves using some form of CAD software. They just use it to make a few components of the final model. It also got me thinking that maybe we could print new ferrules for the stools in science which have lost theirs and are now digging in to the floor. Thanks for anything. Stuart

No, that's the problem I'm trying to sort with Powershell. That should change the alias to be the same as the username, I can then apply a policy as you've pictured. I just want to make sure I'm correct that my commands will only do the ones I want, and not everyone in Exchange. Stuart

I couldn't see how to do it to be the same as the username. If you can, then that would be great.

Morning, I just want to check my logic before I break stuff. All my new year 7s have the wrong alias on their exchange mailbox, so consequently have the wrong email address. They've done the default firstnamesurname@..... I'd like them all to be the username. I'm going to do this in PowerShell; $mailboxes=get-mailbox -OrganizationalUnit "Intake 16" foreach($mailbox in $mailboxes) {set-mailbox -id $mailbox -alias $mailbox.samaccountname} That's correct isn't it? If you run ipconfig /all from a command prompt, it will tell you which DHCP server it's using. Is there another on your network with the old settings?

Yeah, that was my fear from my original post. I was hoping it might use 2x 900GB and 2x 1.2TB drives to make a volume, and then mirror that on to the remaining 2x 900GB and 2x 1.2TB drives. Guess not. Thanks.
