Our science department have some Moticam X cameras which they attach to their microscopes or telescope and then view on an old laptop they have. The Moticam works as a hotspot which the laptop connects to and then the software works via the Wi-Fi. They would like a newer laptop, and I'd like it to be on the domain ideally. Anyone got any of these, or have any ideas how I could use them with a domained laptop which has no access to the Wi-Fi settings when the students log in? They don't work via USB. My Dad has an S7 Edge. He died in December and at the time we removed security from his phone so that it didn't require a fingerprint/passcode or whatever to unlock it as it wasn't going to be leaving the house. Mum's phone she was using has now stopped working but of course had text messages on she wanted to keep. She has now said she'd like to use my Dad's old phone as it means she has a working phone again, but also of course the text messages she wants are on it. Now I have set it up for her, i want to set the security. To set a passcode, password, draw pattern or her fingerprints it is asking for the existing fingerprint or backup password. We didn't realise when we turned off the fingerprint bit that it would still be needed later. Anyone know if it can be got round without resetting the phone otherwise we lose those texts? There is no "I've forgotten my backup password". All it says is that it will be at least six characters, 1 number and 1 letter. I've Googled and deleted the cache of the fingerprint app, but that made no difference. Any help gratefully received. Stuart

I use free Veeam with scheduled tasks running a powershell script which emails me with a report of whether it was successful or not.

I found that, but sadly it is simply for the priority bit, they can still delete. Plus, we still want the repro lady to be able to delete/stop jobs, it's just every other so-and-so we want not to.

Our reprographics machine is a Sharp MX-7040N and we've recently had it where when the repro lady is out of the room, someone is going in, stopping the big print run which is happening and doing their own bits. The repro lady is getting quite cross about it as she has no idea how far through the run the job was etc.... Does anyone know if we can stop people just hitting the button to look at the queue and then pressing "Stop/delete"? We use Papercut, but I believe this option is in the printer itself, not a Papercut thing as you don't have to log in to that bit to get to "Stop/delete". Thank you Stuart

Found out what was going on in case it's useful to anyone; The messages were failing, but when the NDR was going back to the sender, it was going in to his SPAM folder. Helpful!

I'd say if data is where it shouldn't be, it's a breach. Whilst on this occasion the data wasn't looked at by anyone, it was where it shouldn't be.

Why? Do you think people will read them?

You do it the same way you always have and make sure it's in an envelope.

If I wanted to set this up from scratch to look after WSUS and Defender on a newly built 2016 server, which of the seemingly 4 million options of "System Center " in MVLS do I download? I can find heaps of info on what it does and how, and tutorials to get it installed and working, I just need the right media!

So if a school has an EES agreement already, what additional costs are there (either per server, or per cal or whatever) to run defender and control it with SCCM? I'm not after the value necessarily as this can vary depending on all sorts, just what additional licencing is required? Stuart

If you reboot the host, the VMs should pause themselves, and then unpause themselves again once the host is back up.
