That's up to you, but I've got about 150 of them and not a single one has gone wrong. Yes the software is a bit trcky to deploy, but they're cheap, simple, and we've not had any issues with them.

The TTS ones are cheap and cheerful. Software is deployable by SCCM but not directly by GPO.

Wife uses the Lenovo ones at work with her brand new Dell laptop and she has all sorts of issues with displays. This may be the laptop, but it always works OK with the Dell dock she uses at her other office. She has 2x 27" monitors at 1920x1080 but increases the display scaling to 150% and it resets in the middle of working, one monitor turns off if the device goes to sleep and the device reverts to laptop screen and one monitor on the dock and only a restart fixes it. If the laptop is on before she plugs the dock in, it takes several minutes of screens flicking on and off before it sorts itself out and the primary monitor seems to change each time.

Generic login, password changed nightly by script and notified to office staff by email. Staff staying longer than a week get their own login and email and sign the standard AUP.

I had this exact thing and after some too-ing and fro-ing with Apple support was advised to create a txt record named: appleid.mydomain.com with a value of the verification code and it fixed it. Interestingly, Apple denied that it was created by them!

I would lay money on it being a timeout issue of some sort. We have lengthy 'wait for network' set and also a s'pecify startup policy processing wait time' as most of our software goes out via GPO.

Yup... That's the only device we have on site that works, but it's the Heads 'personal-work' device that he chose to buy himself for work purposes to free up a school owned device for a teacher during the first lockdown, so I can't exactly use it for testing!
