Does this look like it's related? Admins may be unable to create new Graph connections or update current connections via the Microsoft 365 admin center Issue ID: MO1021402 Affected services: Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 apps, Microsoft 365 for the web, Microsoft 365 suite, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online Status: Service degradation Issue type: Advisory Start time: Mar 2, 2025, 7:20 PM GMT More info Additionally, current search index crawl schedules may not be met, leading to stale items returned in Microsoft 365 search results. Scope of impact This issue may be producing Graph connection or search index crawl scheduling problems for any admin serviced by the affected portions of infrastructure in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Root cause A service update that was intended to address an unrelated issue had an unexpected side effect to Graph connectors and search index crawls that requires an additional configuration change that wasn’t implemented ahead of time. Current status Mar 4, 2025, 7:15 AM GMT The deployment of the fix to the remaining impacted service environments is steadily progressing and has reached the final stages of validation and deployment. We're continuing to monitor its progress and we'll provide a timeline for completion once one becomes available. Next update by: Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at 3:00 PM GMT

This has been discussed very seriously at one of my schools (primary) and the upshot continues to be that it still isn't justified within the school building itself or the normal school day, however we are actively looking for a suitable product for SLT staff to wear when they are outside at the begining and end of school.

In my old AD envirnonment this was frequently caused by someone logging into a device, leaving it logged in, locking themselves out or changing their password on another device and the original device with an incorrect password trying to auth against resources like printers or drive shares. I know that's not what account lockout tool suggests, but sometimes it gets it wrong, particularly on drive shares.

We use Magicard, we've got 3 of them. They have the bonus of being a fairly local company based in Weymouth. They've been excellent for us, from sending us small spare parts FOC to getting us an expedited set of ribbons by send ing them home with an employee who lived near us to offering us a free upgrade to an RFID setting printer from the standard double-sided. We've got a legacy Enduro+ that they've supplied spare transfer roller kits for free and 2 Magicard 300, one of which is equipped with the Full RFID/NFC/MagStripe suite.

Ours has as well, I rather assumed it was a corrupt cache or a transient error but apparently not. It does however seem to be related to that issue. "Feb 24, 2025, 11:28 AM GMT We've identified that some impact associated with EX1012721 persists."

Not got an apostrophe in their surname have they... Mine has! Users with apostrophes in their surname in Exchange Online may be unable to search for other users Issue ID: EX1015252 Affected services: Exchange Online Status: Service degradation Issue type: Advisory Start time: Feb 24, 2025, 11:26 AM GMT Scope of impact This issue may impact any user with an apostrophe in their surname in Exchange Online that's searching for other users. Root cause The URL utilized by the Outlook service when performing searches is malformed due to the code not providing the full email address of users with apostrophes in their address when submitting the request. Current status Feb 25, 2025, 8:37 PM GMT While we've completed the development of our fix, we're validating its efficacy in a test environment before we apply it broadly. We anticipate that our validation process should be complete by the time of our next scheduled communications update, at which point we'll be better equipped to provide an expected remediation timeline. Next update by: Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 10:00 PM GMT History of updates Feb 24, 2025, 11:26 PM GMT We've confirmed that the issue is the result of the URL utilized by the Outlook service when performing searches being malformed due to the code not providing the full email address of users with apostrophes in their address when submitting the request. We're preparing a fix that will force the URL to encode the User Principal Name (UPN) in the URL before sending the request to the service responsible for performing the search in order to resolve the issue. Once this code update is developed, we'll prepare a timeline for the deployment of the new code and impact resolution. Feb 24, 2025, 9:51 PM GMT As we continue to investigate the potentially impacting change, we've identified further that the URL utilized by the Outlook service may be malformed, resulting in the impact. This may be due to the code not providing the full email address of users with apostrophes in their address when submitting the request. We're working to confirm this theory as well to determine the source of the issue and assist our remediation efforts. Feb 24, 2025, 7:36 PM GMT We've identified that the requests to authenticate are delivered to the responsible API as expected, however the API fails to respond. We suspect this may be due to a recent configuration change regarding how authentication requests are processed. We're reviewing this change while performing additional reproductions to confirm our theory and determine our next steps. Feb 24, 2025, 5:49 PM GMT We've successfully reproduced the issue in our internal testing environment. After analyzing the results of our reproduction, we've confirmed the request to get search results fails during the authentication process. We're investigating the source of this failure to assist with determining the root of the issue and formulating potential remediation options. Feb 24, 2025, 12:34 PM GMT We're analyzing HTTP Archive format (HAR) files to isolate the root cause and develop a mitigation plan. In parallel, we've requested provision of network trace logs and additional contextual details from your representatives to aid our investigation. Feb 24, 2025, 11:28 AM GMT We've identified that some impact associated with EX1012721 persists. We're reviewing the information provided in the support case to isolate the root cause, and determine the next steps needed to resolve this issue.

I've got a single user who can't search her emails using the Outlook website. Works on app for IOS (school iPad in InTune), works on Android (personal phone), works in Outlook app for both New and Classic versions but searching in any browser returns just 'something went wrong'. Searching a mailbox she has delegate access to works fine. Steps taken so far... Signed out and back in with MFA Cleared cache and cookies in all normal browsers (chrome, edge) Tried a new browser (firefox) Tried a fresh windows device Tried in incognito on someone else's device Anyone got a clue before I open a case with MS?

Virgin Media/Azure outage
Oaktech replied to ASA-Simon's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We had a lot of slowness this morning with various Azure hosted services - Bromcom, Uniflow and Sharepoint on a Virgin connection. Possibly related. -
+1 for Canon directly. They've undercut framework pricing every time we've recontracted.

I've got about a dozen of these... https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004868923967.html Act as mouse and powerpoint clicker. came in at £2.10 each delivered. I got the 2,4ghz with dongle version, but the the Bluetooth version would work too. Plus point on these is that you can learn IR commands from the board remote for things like freeze, power on/off and input. We've been running them since christmas and as far as I know they're still on original batteries.

Had a bit of an odd one to my work phone this week. Phone number that actually called me is a nongeographic 0330 number, called me twice that I picked up with silence on the end. I was expecting a call from our telephony provider who uses an 03 number otherwise I'd have ignored it. It then called a third time that I ignored and left an computer generated sounding voicemail saying Hi, This is the office of Dr Allen Chung, This is a very important message, we sent you an email last week but we haven't had any response. Please return this call or call 01983890483 urgently. There are no google hits for either number, if you call the 01983 number it doesn't exist and at the time the 03 number returned 'this number does not accept incoming calls' but now says the number doesn't exist. A Google search for Dr Allen Chung says they are either an optometrist in SanDiego or an oncologist in Rhode Island.

We use the hub site facility extensively and it works really well. We also giver the advice to staff - always check the online library. If you can't see the files you just modified/created in the browser, assume they aren't, and don't log off until you've checked why.

Can you try mapping it manually? might give you an in-your-face error rather than something silent and stashed away in event logs.

I've just tested this... You can add a key to the CU hive Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion DWORD InactivityTimeoutSecs Decimal Set timeout to same as screen off timer.

We moved to a new MIS that has a safeguarding module but it was found very quickly that the safeguarding module... Did not fulfill our needs... And the migration was cancelled and we are still using MyConcern 5 years later. Be *very* sure that what you are buying into fulfills your requirements.

Our biggie is Notebook files. We're telling staff and students to check the file is visible in the OneDrive or Sharepoint website before logging off.

Search Engine Primary Schools
Oaktech replied to amartin's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I didn't get involved in it particularly besides setting the policy, but we trialled Swiggle for students enforced and it lasted a week before the computing lead asked me to switch it back to Google safe search. For context we also have Smoothwall removing most ads and monitoring/blocking searches and results. Our esafety auditors are happy with that. -
The Unifi stuff is fine, but it only currently supports 3rd party cameras that are ONVIF protocol and you lose all of their bells and whistles baked into the camera. If you are just after dumb cameras that just throw video at an NVR they'll do just fine. ONVIF cameras can be got really cheap online. One of my sites uses it like this - nice thing is you can back up to a cloud location which reduces the need for enormous HDD on premises.
