This^^ I've had to do it recently for a not for profit I support. They moved from TalKTalk Business ADSL at @15Mb to BT Sogea @70Mb and at the same time changed phone suppliers. The phone supplier couldn't get their VOIP running at all through the BT Hub and BT washed their hands of it as 'not our service not our problem'. I also couldn't get their Unifi cloudkey to talk out through it which meant I wasn't able to help them remotely and they couldn't access their UnifiProtect CCTV through it. Because they had Unifi CloudKey on prem already I added in a £50 second hand Unifi USG with the BT hub in modem mode and we off to the races. (I know the USG is EoL there is a plan to replace it at easter with a cloud gateway.)

Same manufacturer and same fault, but these aren't USB C, they're Dual Output USB A.

We've just been notified of a recall from Amazon that doesn't seem to appear on the Gov website yet... We bought these in June '24 AXIULOO USB Charger Plug, 3-Pack 2.1A/5V Dual Port USB Power Adapter Mains Wall Charging Adaptor. The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the mains plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363. We went the other way - totally seperate wifi network, vlan, DHCP server, Smoothwall policies offering the most restrictive possible filtering but all the RPi services and sites whitelisted. The kids sign into OneDrive in the browser and drag-drop to save. We have them only in one suite, the PCs are connected via DP and then we have flying leads to HDMI for the Pi. KB/Mouse are plugged into the hubs on the monitors so it's a one plug swap between the PC and the Pi. We've been running our Pi's like this since 2016, but we've finally managed to persuade finance to get some USB KVM switches on order, but they're coming economy from China. They were ordered in September and we're expecting them on the 25th of Jan!

On the offchance that you are desperate to get something off an application built as a flash projector exe, obviously for legitimate business reasons, definitely not to play flash games or anything like that. They're really sensitive to, well, everything... We have to use a repeater for any lead longer than 2m. The sockets get really slack and lose connection - I've replaced 3 or 4 sockets onto the boards. We have to run HDMI over optical to them because they get interfered with by practically everything. I've got one board that has fairly large external speakers fed by analogue audio from an HDMI extractor and the until we started using HDMI over optical rather than copper the image shivered in time to the audio when the volume went up!

That was kind of my point, albeit badly expressed. It's happening on such a wide variety of external hardware it's almost impossible for it to be the external hardware, it has to a weakness in the device, or something in the cabling.

Same - I'd like to throw AOC for monitors and Benq for Interactive screens into the mix as well.

Following... I'm seeing a similar issue. It's as though the output has totally died, doesn't even detect the cable being plugged in. However in my case if you unplug the PC and swap a replacement in, leave it unplugged for a week or so and then plaug it back in again it's fine again for a few more days then it happens again. I've got a mix of M70 and older M710 and it's happening on both. It's only just started happening in the last 3 weeks.

You could consider pre-creating the users from CSV and then mapping their old identities to their new ones in the migration tools?

The Smoothwall cloud filter works fine for us. We also have keyword monitoring set up in Senso to alert on risks that don't pass through conventional filtering such as attempts at bullying though shared documents.

We have an action plan to move away from InVentry. It's been a headache from the get go, but at the time our options were limited. We are however a little bit stuck with SignInApp because some of my schools are a federation with multiple MIS and DfE numbers and sites in different postcodes, but we operate as a single primary school. SignInApp's pricing model means we have to do 2 of everything and it suddenly it isn't actually cheaper to change ecosystems. I'm going to have to work very hard on our Business manager to explain that spending £2500 to jump ship to SignInApp is actually cheaper than spending £1600 on an InVentry renewal.

I use Matter Control. Has a LOT of options, but once you have it dialled in, it's very reliable.

We're seeing lots of intermittent weirdness, I assume related to the service health statement above. Slow or failing access to everything in Teams.

Until it dies... We have about 400 laptops/chromebooks, about 120 PCs and 40 whiteboards across 3 schools. I have a budget for about 15 laptops, 7-10 desktops and 3-5 whiteboards every year with a contingency pot for repairs. I then have a 'big budget' to replace a whole set of something every 5 years so we keep rolling.

The CK2 is still current, so I'd just do a disk. You should be able to change password on settings cog, wifi, change password.

I'd seriously consider migrating your mail... However, you have several options with what you have now. You can choose to unlicense them for exchange, or you can also choose to leave them licensed, but have transport rules to dump and notify. We have transport rules for students and other generic accounts that shouldn't be sending mail.

Easy to set up - one enterprise app for identity and one app registration for each Azure service you need to integrate with. Super tight integration with Canon devices and good integration with other brands. Really easy to admin once setup up.
