  1. One person got back with "half asleep"
  2. How come it's 40 winks and there's only 20 of them? Number 116 reads stora sahare Thanks loved it. Lots of slap forehead moments today 😁
  3. Is the Poco 3 still at the introductory price?
  4. Hi We have an MS Office 365 tenancy, no local servers for it. Just AD. Teams via Hwb seems a lot slower. Slower to log in, slower to use generally. Our local support say it's a local problem but staff and pupils report that it's bad in their homes. Hwb can take 10x the time it takes O365 Teams to load.. that's primary school Hwb users vs their older siblings at High School.
  5. I was wondering if they could save locally - bring the devices to school to upload homework and download the next set work that this might work?
  6. Nope no phone signal. We were provided with mobile broadband dongles by Welsh Government - useless in a lot of cases.
  7. Thanks for all of the great info @Bev We're in a rural area and lots of kids have no broadband access at all. What we have to do with those kids is physically swap USB stacks with work between home and school. How would/ does that work with iPads? Thanks
  8. Just High Quality photos from now on. Standard quality is still unlimited?
  9. We very nearly moved everything to Hwb this half term. We decided against eventually as there were unknowns that may have disrupted online learning which we couldn't risk. I learned a lot more about the process as a result. Teams and Google Classroom are both synced from SIMS, and it's a simple process in Salamander to activate them on request. That's the limit of your control of Teams. You get what you're given. Hwb's idea seems to be that everything should be teacher led, so they create and manage Teams, owners and members themselves. It's not the techs job. Hwb archive teams at the end of each academic year. You have to lose your domain in the process of masking the Hwb domain. Obviously as Hwb need to use the domain name as the alias and for forwarding. You'll still have access to your old Microsoft tenant, as long as you pay for it, by using the onmicrosoft address. (We would make everything read only). Users log into Hwb/O365 using their Hwb usernames. We will migrate old emails to Hwb. We've started to create new usernames to match Hwb usernames to lessen confusion. I think that's everything. I might have missed out some points. We now plan to make the move at the beginning of the summer break in 2021.
  10. Unfortunately not. Shame as it works well for kids that don't want to chat publicly in 'posts'. The controls are solely lacking. Monitoring seems impossible too.
  11. Hmm in wondering if 'Derived classes' is a thing. Google only references Derived Years, which is what I've done before.
  12. "(h) pedal cycles with pedal assistance which are equipped with an auxiliary electric motor having a maximum continuous rated power of less than or equal to 250 W" So that seems to confirm the maximum continuous 250w and why most EU ebikes have a much higher burst rating.
  13. Struggling to get my head around this one. Reg groups in Year 9 are split for these 2 lessons. So I need to split the group and assign one teacher to each, just for these lessons. Vic seems to be on to something with Derived classes. I've used this to conjoin two classes of different year groups to be taught be one teacher at the same time. I can't think how you do that to one class splitting in two. Can anyone help please? Here's Vic's post:
  14. I'm interested in this. This website says this: "The maximum continuous rated power of the electric motor must not exceed 250 Watts." A 250W "max continuous rated" motor can reach up to 800W. This is to help cyclists that need some torque for hill climbing and not to exceed the 15.5mph speed limit.
  15. I think that's ok. It's the public facing usernames that you shouldn't be able to identify the child from, that would form their email address.
  16. Solid state batteries will be here in 5 years which will be half way there? Can't wait.
  17. No problem. Sympathies. I'm just glad my school aren't fully Welsh language.
  18. Seriously? WG omitting the Welsh language version?
  19. That's hilarious [emoji1787]
  20. We also need to replace ours. The old one was a cheap Chinese thing that cost £3K a few years ago. Likewise awful software interface. Amusingly the LA have the exact same model in their Adult Services workshops.
  21. It's the training manuals - there's a Part A and Part B dated copies of which can be found online eg: http://sims.cynnal.co.uk/aspRootC/Cwricwlwm/NovaT6_19112.pdf
  22. I think you can only set one period length on the Cycle screen (top left)
  23. Private chat can be disallowed and chat in Channels and meetings can still be used for pupils - if that's what you mean
  24. Welsh Government guidance is always to have a 2nd adult attend private video chats so 2 adults to 1 child at least. We allow 1-1 text chat beteen pupils and 2-1 (as above) text chat pupils to staff. Private video and audio is disabled for pupils but allowed for staff.
  25. Our exams officer has just worked this out themselves and is all set to email out using InTouch
